rvp2018:manze learn and stop blurbing, Abuja lightrail recently lunched and the low turn out has been attributed to fact that the new international airport was not fully in use, low awareness of the system and that the first phase only targets the middle class and the upper class, especially those heading to the airport from the Central Areas, the second phase which is still under construction would carter for the entire population. the system has BN picking and will surely do , Kaduna-Abuja SGR also started in same note but has now broken even.

rvp2018:why do you like deceiving your so much, no any other place outside the tiny areas of your CBD in your capital or even other counties is planned. Nairobi alone has 183 slums, according to a census done by Pamoja trust nearly 10 years ago. your urban areas are ailing and it is about time you begin to notice omissions in section 184 of the Constitution on the management of urban areas and cities. all your counties are full of slums and shanties "A recent visit to Nakuru revealed the misery of neglecting growing towns. Subukia, for example, has now outgrown trading centre and village status. But it has no sewer, no garbage dump or system of solid waste management, no zoning, nothing. It is just being allowed to grow on its own, - on autopilot. Many towns in Kenya, especially the emerging satellite towns like Ngong, Kitengela, Kiserian, Kiambu and Kikuyu are like that. Most of these towns need their own dedicated water reservoirs/dams and sewerage systems. The governors are only thinking of the county headquarters.". |

TayserMahri: U r a goat for saying that. Abuja light rail has BN up and running for some months now. The system is divided in phases, Lot 1 A and Lot 3 standard gauge project covers a total length of 45.3 km. There are 12 stations and 21 operational offices on the network. The light rail is designed without a pedestrian crossing and has 16 flyovers to enable the train pass under and cars above. There are nine pedestrian bridges, including six dry crossings for cattle and other animals. Exclusive League It is the first of its kind in West Africa and equates Abuja with Algiers, Addis Ababa, Cairo, Johannesburg and Pretoria as the only African cities with functional light rail services. 1 Like 1 Share |

400 passengers daily in vanity project to the airport is the classic case of wastage....even 1.5m passengers a year for a rail is still huge wastage..it won't even cover 1% of operation cost.Light rail should carry a million passengers DAILY.Check out gautrain in Joburg. 68816419: 2 Likes |

68816419:We are still waiting for steel pillets from the 8 billion dollars rusted steel mill..so worry less..we got all the time..to see your poverty increase to 90% of the population despite shipping 2m barrels of oil daily. If light rail cannot transport 1m passengers or about daily then it a wasted investment..and worse that rail will not even meet it operation cost.Starting at 400 is crazy.Dont wonder why your country is poor. 3 Likes 1 Share |

samorobo:well said, one thing u would love this current administration for is "continuity" of projects, most of these projects were started by previous government but never got completed, Take Warri -Itapke-Kogi lines which was awarded 30yrs ago but could not get completed due to massive corruption, the current government took it upon itself to completing it, a future extension of the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri line northwards by about 200km will take it through Lokoja, Abaji, Gwagwalada, Kuje up to Idu linking up with the existing Abuja-Kaduna line and the planned Kaduna-Kano line. the train now runs 4 trips services every week. Same goes to Lagos-Ibadan rail line, which is now 90% completed, Abuja-Kaduna rail line has been in operations for more two years now. Next in line is kogi to Abuja rail line, Ibadan to kwara, kwara to kogi, Kaduna to Kano, kano to Maiduguri and the coast line from ph to other parts of Nigeria.
