We should learn to differentiate between prosperity and materialism. The former is God's perfect will for his children to walk in and enjoy, while the latter is the devil's counterfeit of prosperity.

God is the God of prosperity? Before you shout heresy, ask yourself what is prosperity? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, "prosperity is the condition of being successful or thriving; especially : economic well-being". Throughout the scriptures, God always delights in multiplication, increase, overflow, and replenishment of every good thing he does or commanded his people. Hence Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon, etc all lives in abundance of wealth and yet maintain their relationship with God. Check the following scriptures to know the difference between prosperity and materialism. I put it to folks that prosperity is not evil but materialism Deuteronomy 8:18, Genesis 9:1-8, Genesis 13:2, 26:12-28, Job 22:24, Psalm 35:27, 118:25, Job 36:11, 2Tim 6:17, etc).

From the beginning in the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve never had any sense of lack and want until iniquity was found in them hence the beginning of poverty and struggling in this world. Therefore, poverty resulted from God's curse upon earth because of sin. This curse was reversed in Genesis 9 but was not attoned until Christ came.

Statistically, crime rate is higher in nations and suburbs with high prevalent low socio-economic people, than rich and high socio-economic environment. Poverty is NOT God's will for his children, it's a curse.

The problem with the subject of prosperity and poverty in christiandom and the world at large is extremism. Ignorance has made some folks to associate wealth and riches with the devil and going to hell. On the other hand, some people has concluded that poverty is a virtue and sign of Holiness. While another group equates riches as a sign of God's blessings and approval on a person and vice versa.

This is my submission on this matter, God wants you to prosper in accordance with his word ie let your means or method of getting rich glorify God and better the lives of others and make heaven at the end of your journey on earth. Satan didn't want you to be rich but to destroy you in hell, but because he knows that you need money (who doesn't?), He lures people to do things that will make them end up in hell fire in other to get money now.

Instead of criticizing the rich, mind your own business, discover God's ways of becoming rich, follow it and your story will inspire your generation.

Sadly, this is the current state of most young christian believers today... The fact that you are honest with yourself, and not pretending along with those other church and pastor worshipers shows salvation is still within you.

Most of the pastors nowadays are nothing more than entertainers and motivational speakers. They stimulate you to think about your life, how to make it big, using sweet sounding words and beautiful rhymes, but don't really make you want to be born again or know God more.

More like con men. Sm have conscience and sm have lost it totally. Then sm start out genuine bt later fall for the god of mammon while thinking they are still serving God.

After he preached, money was dropped all over the pulpit. Some people were removing their gold necklaces and wrist watches and were dropping on the pulpit. Some removed their SIM cards and dropped their expensive phones.

Another man of God came to preach to the same people. The same people who dropped their car keys ran back home and brought out their juju and surrendered to the altar.
And were crying to God for mercy. Some brought the guns and masks they use for arm robbery. While some brought out their phones in front of the church and were destroying their SIM cards which they used to dupe people.
You could hear adults crying like babies.

What did the first preacher preach that made them ran back home to bring their money and didn't make them drop their charms?

The difference is in the burden of the preacher.

How can we see the people who are trooping to hell. Their prayer lives are dead. And all that we are after is their landed properties and car keys?

To me, nothing is wrong with people coming to give offering when a preacher is preaching.

But Lord, help my life. I don't want to join those that are entertaining this generation to perdition. If people hear me and drop their money without dropping their charms, it means I have failed.

Man of God, this month, Ask God to give you fresh burden for the lost. If you can, cry to Him to impact you once again with the passion for souls.

If not, people will look for you and will not see you. You may be all over social media, television, billboards, radio etc. Yet people that use to know you will start asking where you are?

The reason so many Pastors have gone to bow to mami water for power to grow their ministry is because God's grace have left them. They started very well. But along the line, they started making merchandise with the anointing.

God lifted His Hands from them and they became shadows of themselves. Instead of them to cry back to God for realignment, they went down to Egypt for help, So as to maintain their crowd and their fame.

Today, forget the laughter on their faces.
They are in trouble. Without fleets of cars and crowd in your church, you are still better than them. There is an Angel wearing my face to tell you this now. This minth, go back to where you dropped your burden for souls...
Go back to those days when you use to pray and groan in Gods presence before the program for God to give you souls as you go to preach. Remember the days when you use to celebrate anytime sinners were running out to surrender to Christ..

Go back to those days, sir. Money will come.
But let's not lose what money cannot buy while looking for money. Tell your host to make arrangements before inviting you to preach.
Let them not mount pressure on you to raise funds to cover the hotel bills and recover publicity cost.

This is a generation that packs sinners in crusades and start raising funds from them without leading them to Christ. A generation that organizes revival meetings where no one receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
No one was reconciled to Christ. Yet, everyone sowed dangerous financial seeds.

And we don't care. God is about to move in the land. He is about to silence many who are using Him to rob people and to give volumes to voices of men who have been carrying His burden genuinely....
If you are accepting preaching engagements this year, let it be for God to use you to reconcile people back to Him...
If not, you are declaring to heaven that you are no more useful in this on going end time revival and global harvest ...

Exactly sir. am passing through the same case at the moment. Ever since I left NCCF and CASOR Fellowship back in school days, I've not been able to see church that preach the undiluted word irrespective of who was in the church that day. I've seen ministers of the Gospel water down their sermon because some important persons are in the congregation. it was 3 sundays ago that i went to church last. i went to church today and the message was "sowing seed for divine favour" .
I just don't know where we got it wrong.

If members enjoy the vanities it is evil but if this same vanity comes to the pastors, it is an acceptable offering of Abel unto the Lord.

I agree with your points. But come to think of it, many of us want to be like Christ but can we suffer like Christ?
Many want to be like the Apostles of Old but do you think it was focusing on prosperity that lifted them up to their spiritual status?
Many want to be like great preachers of past centuries but can they suffer the pains of persecutions?
When last did you you heard this kind of message in church? If is not evil brothers and sisters die by fire, it is sow a seed for your well-being.
If I may ask Mr Useful1 was Jesus Christ poor while He on earth? Where the Apostles in Poverty when they preached the word?
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you and not vice versa.

Sometimes you might not necessarily blame the pastors but the congregations because it’s so obvious that members don’t spare time anymore to read the word of God that will grant them insight to enable them differentiate the right and wrong preaching hence whatever the pastors or so called “men of god” preach to them becomes a norm. And sadly, the false ones now dominate the Christianity by preaching what the gullible minds really want to hear. Smh
Frankly speaking, there’s a serious problem in the world today as these so called pastors have turned the church into a circus or worse, into Disney movie studio as if scripts are being acted in the church and it will not cease not until we christians realize that with or without your pastors you can make heaven by being firmly rooted in the word of God and not living like your life is dependent on the mortal you likened as your savior.

I don't get it, the writer is a Moslem? The ''church'' really needs benediction. No wonder Bible said judgement will start from the house of God, some pastors are lost, lack any relationship with God, yet still lead a flock, that is deceit.
