The snake charmers i know dont go searching for snakes by climbing ceilings et all, they have some juju on them that detects if there is a snake within the vicinity and draws the snake out.

I guess who you called was not a real snake man.

Be careful on your return. Make sure the toilet seat is well covered at all times and always lit. If truly theres a snake up there, you guys have invaded its territory with that sniper et all and it will fight back. Probably has offsprings too. I think you should look for a proper snake charmer.

Bolded is one of many reasons it is necessary to block/stop/fill/cover all holes up there before and after roofing.

Yes you are right. They were not filled at all.

Hello everyone,

There is snake living in my roof. It has been over 2 years now the reptile has been living in there. I first noticed it sometimes in 2017 when i saw snake skin in my roof. I have blocked all entry holes for lizard and the likes thinking the snake would die or leave due to starvation ....but it didnt leave and the snake seems to be thriving in there. I dont know what its eating.

I taught of fumigation but i think the snake can escape the fumigation odor because it can easily hide in the deep block holes.

I cant go in there, as am writing this i can hear the snake moving all about in my attic.

What can i do to get rid of it?

MODS: If its not too much i want this in front page for better audience or opinions.

Employ a snake catcher........

Get 2 screech owls and introduce them into the roofs. Owls are a snake's natural predators. I am talking from experience.

Had something similar when we were younger. Two owls eventually got to the roof and the slithering movements we were always hearing stopped forever.

I cant go up there and check it. Am scared bro. My pop ceiling has started showing some crack. Maybe the weight of the thing is responsible.

Someone suggest i should throw boiled egg inside the ceiling...

Insert small pins inside the boiled egg and dont peel the shell.Once it swallows it and tries to compress it with its muscle for digestion, then the pins will pop out and gbege go shele. It will be struggling with the pins which will eventually kill it.

If you have seen the long skin shade, then it's most likely a black cobra. It has a strong survival skill and can adapt to any unhealthy environment, holes, dark spaces etc. If you are sure you don't have rats/rodents in the house then the serpent is feeding on wall geckoes. That explains why it survived this long. If you are really convinced that you have a snake up there, then your best option is to call the service of Hausa snake charmers. Any other options will be dangerous as the snake will be threatened by the invasion of its territory. It can fight to death. If you are in the north, snake charmers are everywhere. If you are in Lagos, you can get them in IdiAraba, Obalende, Mile12, or even Agege. For a fee of N10, 000 they can safely remove any poisonous reptile from your house.
Wow. I have not heard of this before.

Patience is denial. Act fast. That was how a small snake was found living in the roof of a Pastor's house The occupants weren't sure it was a snake but could hear moving sounds on the roof. Indecision made it turn to a massive python feeding on chickens and stray animals. It was thereafter killed by skilled hausa snake charmers

Relax OK. Snakes doesn't bite unless it's been sent to bite you.
If it was sent to you, it would have bitten you long ago.

2 years? Where do you stay?

Boiled eggs actually kill snakes. They cant digest the shell so it kinda chokes them to death.
how do they digest bones stronger than shell

Thanks for clarifying that... The way I 'love ' snakes I don't think it's gonna stay for 2mins not to talk of 2 yrs...

The way I see things might be different from yours... Nothing Is 100% guaranteed in this world including life..
So whether PDP or was it POP ceiling , I don't think it's 100% safe...Anyways just be vigilant and be careful..and if u have little children around, I don't even wanna go there..
wasted so much typing without making even 1 point
