Mounting tensions between Washington and Tehran continued to escalate Sunday after Trump issued a direct threat that war would spell 'the official end of Iran.'

His remarks came in the wake of a rocket attack less than a mile from the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone, which appeared to have been carried out by Iran-backed Shiite militias, an Iraqi military spokesman said.

Taking to Twitter, at just after 4pm ET, the president posted:

I think the reason united nations was created is to bring countries together so that they can settle their difference in a pacific way through diplomacy but the way powerful countries flex muscle against weaker ones won't help. US pulled out of a deal that major world powers initiated and wants the other party to continue its commitment to the deal, now you want to force her to come to the negotiating table isn't that funny? Exactly, what has Iran done that Saudi Arabia hasn't done x100 ? the unnecessary attack on Iran is uncalled for, Iran hasn't invaded any country and they only care about their existence. Even the bombing won't be that effective, because of the terrain, must of Iran Nuclear installations are located in between rocks, aerial bombardment alone won't solve anything for them, they still need ground troops to invade Iran, which as we all know will be bloody for both parties.
