2. If you're doing analytics just because it is STEM, that is a wrong reason to do it. There are STEM-based MBA programs around that you can choose. Analytics is highly statistical and you need to love statistics to excel in it.

3. If your plan is to work in analytics, you need at least 1.5 years of analytics experience to stand the competition in the job market. However, an MBA in analytics might give you the advantage of working at business-like roles that have some little form of quantitative analysis. However, you need prior work experience (4-5 years) to take that route.

4. In summary, don't do an MBA without work experience because it is a waste of time and if you need to do analytics after graduation, then get at least 1.5 years of experience in analytics before moving to the US.

5. Notre Dame has a dual degree in MBA and biz analytics that has provided some funding to some people I know. You might want to get a stellar GRE or GMAT (preferred) score and good work experience because the program is competitive. But before applying, make sure you have enough work experience because it is not all about getting admissions and hopping on a plane to the US. You need to be very prepared so that you don't feel disappointed after graduation. I guess you read the story of the Stanford MBA guy.

6. This is the most important point . If you want to do an MBA, funding should be last on your priority list. Go to a solid program with good network. The cost will pay off in no time. An MBA at any top 10 US B school can transform your life.[/quote]

You're welcome!

I would say you shouldn't be too scared of the STEM thing. Join a very good program (STEM or non-STEM) that will place you in a good role at a large company. Even if the H1B doesn't work in your first year, you get transferred to an international location and they will keep filing the H1B. When it works, you come back to the US. If it doesn't work, there are other types of visas that might work for you, like the L1 visa, which the companies will file for you.

Overall, be more concerned about joining a good program and worry less about the STEM thing. You will always be fine and your network will always be there to assist you anywhere you find yourself.

The decision is yours to make.

PS: I normally do not recommend targeting jobs in big companies just for the sake of the brand name. I always recommend getting a suitable role irrespective of the size or the brand name of the company - in fact, some tech startups pay better and give more visibility than Google and Microsoft. But in the case of immigration, it makes sense to target those multinationals that will aid to file your visas.

For entity paying for trip on DS160, I put SELF even though I'm using a loan and receiving sponsorship from uncle/guardian. Am I correct?

Again, i put NO in "Have you made specific plans for trip?" Am I correct?

Use the name of the company or organisation that will give you the loan.

yes but I would say it was cause if financial implications, what about this ?

What if the Vo puts you on AP to buy time and decides to call both school admission to verify. A lie can get you a ban

Also a serious student who cares about their future knows you dont pick a school only because of financial. A one building school, what exactly are u going to do with that degree after graduation? . Financial is good but its not the only consideration

Thank you. One last question please.
For someone who is currently serving(nysc), can she pick the 'does not apply' option in the 'monthly salary in local currency' aspect under work/education/training information?

NYSC corpers are been paid a salary so for me i will not pick does not apply .

Morning application was for 2 colleges and one uni all in Texas I hope that is fair enough
LagosismyHome:

Get admission for both college and Uni . Get visa with uni and make a switch when you get there

Alternatively go with Cc, prepare well and hope for the best. Either options can work or not work

Good Morning Good peeps of Nairaland. Thank God for the approval so far.

I want to ask if I can go with my son(He is a baby of about 10 months) for the visa interview. The reason am asking is that he doesn't need a Visa because he has a blue passport and since I will be going for the interview with my wife(F2) because we all intend traveling together.

Thank you

Me: *i wasn't expecting the question, it was written as Assistantship + supplement* I didn't really find out, i guess it is based on my Undergrad CGPA & Test scores, they decided to add the supplement.

VO: why didn't you ask.
Me: I felt it wasn't necessary at that time.
