Anduku:I did fact check, Andu. And Trump wasn't just "misdirecting", he was miscategorising and lying too when he claimed "we had the case of governor of Virginia where he stated he would execute a baby after birth." But that's politics for you. And not really the issue here. The problems start when people like you, whom I assume is intelligent, say the same thing as if its factually true which it isn't. No one is legislating killing born babies. And anyone who does would pay for such stupidities at the next elections whether dems or rebs, except if the likes of you, regardless of which party you support, suddenly stops using your brain which I personally hope never happens. I don't just believe you would go on supporting a party if it proposed legislation you oppose. 1 Like |

zendi: All the people making ado about this post with regards to "aborting already born babies" should note that in english language, the word 'abort' simply means to terminate something prematurely. So what makes it a verb that can only apply inside a womb? The barbaric proposals of "Progressive" Ralph Northam amount to simply a continuation of the effort to terminate the life of the baby, within or without the womb, at the nod of the mother, by denying it rescussitation, by simply neglecting it to death. For good measure, it is also called Post-Birth Abortion. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Mindfulness:Simply put you can't find any post either recent or old where I spoke about already born babies being aborted. Just admit you lied, tuck your tails between your legs and scram. "Now go and like your own posts" What's that even supposed to mean? I mean if you want to rant at least do it like an adult and not throw lame insults like a mentally deficient toddler 6 Likes |

Mindfulness:Where in that post did I mention abortion of already born babies? You mean you guys are so mentally deficient that you can't differentiate between the words "abortion" and "infanticide"? I mean their spellings are not even similar, how much more easier could it get for you? Even a child with basic English knowledge can do better than this. Gosh!!! 6 Likes 1 Share |

Anduku:Only a fool would argue whether you want to "abortion of already born babies" or "kill an already born child". Below is what I said you said. "The current talking point among the lunatic liberals in the US to give a mother a right to kill an already born child" And no one proposed such nonsense! You must be one of those libtards you're always ranting about. You sure lie like one! 1 Like |

Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by Anduku: 2:33am On May 22, 2019 |
budaatum:Can you be kind enough to explain to us what Gov. Ralph northam meant when he said, the baby will only be resuscitated if that's what the mother wishes? And what happens to the baby if the mother doesn't wish it to be resuscitated? And why did the democrats vote against the born alive Bill? This is the third time I am asking you this question, you never answer it instead you run off to go and fact check Donald Trump as if he is arguing with you on nairaland. Here you have another chance to prove me wrong. I'll be waiting for your answer, provide them or admit that I am right!!! 6 Likes |
Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by Anduku: 2:47am On May 22, 2019 |
budaatum: And I provided you a verbatim quote by Governor ralph northam to back up my claim. You are yet to disprove that he said the words I quoted or prove that his words don't imply infanticide yet you accuse me of lying? Now tell us what governor ralph northam meant by keeping the baby and resuscitating it only if the parents desire it? You better give us a good explanation of what what this words mean before you ever call me a liar again. And don't avoid this question again, if you say no one proposed such nonsense as you call it, then you must explain exactly what governor northam meant or admit that you are the one who is the bloody liar here 7 Likes |

Anduku:I already did. Read the factcheck I posted on the subject. If you are capable of differentiating between "abort a baby" and "kill a baby", I'm confident you can differentiate between "a comment" and "a bill". Anduku:Politics, probably. You know what you Americans can be like. Though, in my opinion, it's a stupid bill. In my opinion, abortions should not be happening if the foetus has reached the point of viability except in very extreme circumstances like the life of the mother is threatened. When you decide to fight for that, please call on me to support you. |

budaatum:I never said governor northam proposed any infanticide bill? The fact that he could be brazen enough to make such a comment on radio is scary enough for anyone with common sense. He is the governor of a state, not just any commoner, if he could float such an idea publicly, then how long before we start hearing the same argument from other mainstream politicians? 7 Likes 1 Share |

Anduku:A governor, Anduku, and not a dictator who can just do whatever he wants. And besides, of a swing state, having only won from Republican William Troy Bolling in 2014. Tie him up in court instead if he proposes such nonsense in a bill. Campaign against him even and get him kicked out! You don't have to do what you constantly accuse libtards of doing, though, I must admit that misrepresenting the opponents position is 'campaign against' for some. But you're not campaigning here, so why not stick to the facts (okay, I'm laughing at myself for asking those involved in American politics to stick to facts lol!) |

In his own words: Ralph Northam: You know, I wasn’t there, Julie, and I certainly can’t speak for Delegate Tran, but I would tell you — one, the first thing I would say is this is why decisions such as this should be made by [healthcare] providers, physicians, and the mothers and fathers that are involved. There are — you know when we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of, obviously, the mother, with the consent of the physicians, more than one physician by the way. And it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that’s non-viable. So in this particular example, if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother. So I think this was really blown out of proportion |

Redesign of $20 bill postponed: Harriet Tubman no longer coming in 2020 https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/22/harriet-tubman-20-bill-no-longer-coming-in-2020.html The redesign of the $20 bill featuring Harriet Tubman will no longer be unveiled in 2020, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday. The unveiling had been timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Mnuchin said the design process has been delayed and no new imagery will be unveiled until 2028. “The primary reason we have looked at redesigning the currency is for counterfeiting issues,” Mnuchin said in response to questions by Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., during a hearing before the House Financial Services Committee. “Based upon this, the $20 bill will now not come out until 2028. The $10 bill and the $50 bill will come out with new features beforehand.” The Tubman design was announced in 2016 by former Treasury Secretary Jack Lew following a 10-month process in which the department sought input from the public. “The decision to put Harriet Tubman on the new $20 was driven by thousands of responses we received from Americans young and old,” Lew said at the time. “I have been particularly struck by the many comments and reactions from children for whom Harriet Tubman is not just a historical figure, but a role model for leadership and participation in our democracy.” President Donald Trump, months before he was elected, called the decision to put Tubman on the currency “pure political correctness” and proposed putting her portrait on the $2 bill. ... 1 Like
