I think they did, accepting the crime reduced their judgement, that's what naira-marley failed to do. When the crime is levied against you in court and they have strong evidence against you unknowingly. It's better you confess your crime by accepting. He is not foolish; the judgement was delivered in accordance with the laws of the country for such offense.

If we want stricter punishment for fraudulent related crimes, there is need to modify the laws so that judges would act accordingly.
