Please guys I need your advice on my case, I just got admission to study IT engineering at Wedel in Germany, but my problem now is that I have not received an appointment date from the consulate and my resumption date is Oct first, from the Information I got from the German website, it takes time to get the appointment and the visa processing done, so am now scared ,the time I have won't be enough which is 15th of May to 30th September. For me to get the visa, so I requested for an extension in start date from the school they said they can only shift my start date to next semester, so my dilema now is can I still use the admission letter given to me to continue the visa process or should I cancel the appointment and wait for next semester to start the visa application all over again. And I was asked to make a quick decision by the school , so please what would you advice me to do.

Me, personally I think Winter application is okay because Summer application is short kind of..Bros, with God on your side everything go soft. just pray Appointment dates comes soon..No need to cancel, you will be surprised that by next week appointment dates will be giving out again.

Everybody waka just different, see I have a BSC AL but I already booked for MSC appointment date, hopeful that the MSC admission will drop soon

Ok, I get you, however, it is a two way thing in my opinion. They could as well decide to check it to spin people's balls and reduce stress for them. It is always better to play it safe, what they might check for a particular person could be different from what they will check for another person but with a legit information, no matter the conditions, that person will be on the safe side especially when the person has time to fill in the correct details.

We will know more about this later from people with appointment dates already.

most enrolement dates are subject to change i get you though to be on a safer side. But i feel its no issue. They don't have stress have u been to US embassy.

When I did my Interview, the vo checked my enrollment deadline and when my study is to begin...
If you enrollment has elapsed without you enrolling and providing a proof to the embassy, there is no way the interview will hold and even if it holds, there is a High probability you would get a rejection based on the fact your enrollment has passed without you enrolling...

I just got off the phone with a friend who is lamenting badly that he was not informed before he left, he would not have taken that course. No hope of job, just struggling. Guys that met him in DE, some got jobs even before graduating while still doing their thesis.

schmalkalden i applied jan 31st, got admission notification march 28th
hildesheim i applied April 17th, got admission notification today may 22nd
siegen i was shortlisted for an interview, i had it on Friday last week, was asked a total of 9 questions, was able to answer about 5,it wasnt even up to an hour the rejection letter dropped

German is different from English so for every person you address the verb changes
Du bist- You are
Ihr seid- You guys are

Duolingo doesn't teach grammer rules so I suggest you find a better tool to learn German. You can use it to 'break the ice' and memorise some basic Vocabulary. But it's not effective enough for learning German alone.

It's just like people choosing IT courses because they heard IT is in demand in DE but having no passion for IT. There are various factors for choosing a course but I'd advise don't choose a course simply because you 'heard' it's in demand. Everything boils down to your marketing skills and your passion. And also how much
German you can speak.

German is a beautiful language but it has so many grammar rules and complex structures. But once you can understand the rules and structures, memorise vocab, lots of practice, then you're good to go. But I'll still say this: Duolingo alone is not enough to learn German. By the time you reach the cases, (Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive), you'll feel like you wasted your time on Duolingo. So you can still use Duolingo but in combination with other resources.

Yes, I tried other schools. MSc. Siegen was my fail-safe application as I am originally from the social sciences but moving into IT, hence the surprise at their very quick rejection . I already have an MSc in IT!

If you included the fact that you have an Msc. in IT in your application, then it showed inconsistency, they probably didn't want to risk their slot on someone drifting from one field to the other

Why creating unnecessarily tension for yourself.
Carefully see what each admission entails
Use a score map to choose a school of your choice and stick to it. Truth is if you don't enroll by those dates, your admission will be given to someone else (probably to others on their waiting list) which means the alien office will know you didn't enrol .
My advice.... select your most preferred school and stick to it.

you can but you must deenroll from the first school before you can enroll in another one thats what I have read and hear people say
