The must focused government in the history of Nigeria, despite all the challenges facing the country, distraction by enemies of the state were ignored. The may have their weakness but remember; 14 of our local government councils were taken over by a terrorist groups, most States(28) have backlog of salaries of 3-14months unpaid. please don't talk of pension/graduate, government money was shared and the system was bastardized by those living office(vandals),knowing well they are living the corridor of power and don't know when to return. As efforts are been made to transformed the country, Niger Delta avengers were given birth to in order to bleeds the economy, it works as the country had the worse recession in years and the good will the government enjoyed from the inception was lost. poverty and hardship increased. The crisis within the power blocks in the ruling party manifested within the first day of sitting of the national assemblies (Senate/green chamber), the leadership emerged without the support of their party as those who won holds and unholy marriage with the opposition, the frustrates some plans of the government, mostly, the economic recovery plans. Those that won were not humble and magnanimous in victory as they felt like they are at the same level with the President. The above suspension was confirmed in March/july, 2018 by the decamping of the powers that may be within the ruling party with 5 of them contested as aspirants for the primary elections in opposition party, the PDP,one of them later became their standard flag bearer in the general election. The ill health of the president was another issue, altogether. It affects some progress made in day to day running of government. The VP was a capable hand as he filled in perfectly for his boss and was called the "mere commissioner" by some mischievous entities. Internal security was overwhelming with trillions of naira allocated to it instead of using such money to invest in education, health, technology and agriculture, but it's a necessity considering the treat of boko haram,Niger delta avengers, IPOB,Fulani herdsmen and bandits, armed robbery and kidnapping. The continuation of most policy and completion of projects initiated by previous government eliminated wastage, thought it altered some of the plans of the government. The transformation in agriculture with special intervention from CBN is visionary mostly the anchor borrows scheme. The social intervention program(the first in the country) is unique as thousands were given almost $16 per month, free of charge. pupils were given a meal per day while in school, this improved the enrollment and turn out in public schools. The revival and reformation in the transport sector is amazing considering the fact that the country just came out of recession(The lagos-Ibadan route, and kaduna-abuja axis is unique). The housing and works are not left behind. My summary of the first tenure is, hard work, and more work, controversial and unsecured with many expectations not meet. can they improve on the current effort? Yes but let's wait and see.... Long live the people and federal republic of Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

abluck: Do you people just make comments thinking only Nigerians use the internet? The hate is just too much, you are the First to make a comment on a post and you can't help but tell the world how divided the country is. In saner climes the accompanying comments will be comparison on what the admin claims to have achieved and the reality on ground and even possible solutions by way of recommendation. Little wonder the country is where it is(backwards) despite having enormous resources. |
