Clubmaster: It reminds me of one babe like this who normally acts like a posh queen in my area. Only for her to claim that she does not eat pork but she will eat ham. Babe failed to realise that ham is also from pigs. Ham is pork. 1 Like 1 Share |

The Hate You Give 9/10 One of the best black films I've seen. However, I don't expect Mjgoat/Mjbolt to understand. Dude only masturbates to Marvel's special effects. He does it every morning. 2 Likes |

Beorn:Did you read my conversation with MjBolt before labelling me 'ignorant'? You people lack tact and just talk anyhow because this is the internet. By 'unnecessary feminisation', what was flashing through my mind at that point was Supergirl, Captain Marvel, Thor, James Bond and whatever the fvck studio execs have been dreaming up lately. It's like a battle of the sexes. It was a sweeping statement. |

DannyKoice:just googled it and I saw the original Sarah Connor will star in the movie. Men I'm already feeling it. Lol |

Octopusssy: I read your post before your discussion with MJbolt which is the right order because it came first, but after reading your subsequent submission, I didn't edit my post because I still feel you're wrong in your "battle of the sexes" thought. For as long as I can remember, we've had a female protagonists and male antagonists in many movies, how you view it as a battle of sexes, when it shouldn't be different from a male-male or female-female antagonist-protagonist boggles my mind. I didn't intend my 'ignorant' post to rub you off the wrong the wrong way, maybe I'd have used the word 'oblivious' instead. |

Octopusssy: Just saw it now. Well, the rise of feminism might have played a part in the idea behind the future changing of Thor to a female, but I think that a female Terminator has been existing before the surge of feminism recently and therefore shouldn't been seen as a product of the modern feminism flu affecting a lot of people in Hollywood. |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Octopusssy(f): 11:12pm On May 23, 2019 |
Beorn:What movie in the franchise had a female Terminator as the protagonist? I know there was a female villain at some point (I saw the trailer back then), but I'm not aware of a protagonist. |

Octopusssy: Yes, Summer Glau played a female Terminator protagonist in the Terminator series. But was this debate ever about female Terminator protagonist? Or the feminisation of the recent movies? |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Octopusssy(f): 11:58pm On May 23, 2019 |
Beorn:I wasn't referring to the series but the movies. I wouldn't call what is going on here a 'debate'. I was rather puzzled at the appearance of a female Terminator protagonist in the upcoming movie, voiced my puzzlement and voila, some folks here, still smarting from their bans jumped in to display their mannerlessness and lack of home training (behaviour that earned them the bans in the first place). On a personal note I think some characters should just remain male. When I think of the Terminator, i think of Arnold. I think of his stony countenance and deep voice. I just can't wrap my head around a female Terminator protagonist, just as I can't reconcile the image of a female 007 agent with the larger than life persona built over the span of almost 60 years (thankfully audiences shot down that stupid idea in the polls) |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 12:24am On May 24, 2019 |
Octopusssy: I understand you much better now. Well, If I'm to guess, I'll say it's the storyline of the upcoming movie and where the plot is headed that demanded the need for a female protagonist Terminator. Maybe director, Miller is trying to bring in a different angle, you know, spice things up a little bit and bring another perspective. A kind of a fresh idea. I think they'd be more Terminators this time around, not just the female protagonist Terminator. I'm against the sudden quest to turn many popular male roles to female roles. But I feel with the first female antagonist Terminator not doing badly at all, a protagonist wouldn't be a horrible idea as long as the script is good. |

Tears of the Sun The Nigerian government has fallen, and the country is on the verge of civil war. Lt. A.K. Waters (Bruce Willis) has been assigned to lead a team of soldiers into the Nigerian jungle to rescue Dr. Lena Kendricks (Monica Bellucci). When Waters and his team locate Kendricks, she tells them she won't leave her helpless patients to be slaughtered by rebels. The team incurs the wrath of both U.S. and Nigerian forces when they side with Kendricks and attempt to march the refugees to safety. Must say, I only had one eye on this but with America dropping bombs on what's meant to be Nigeria border, it did come across as a promotion for interventionism to save........ Yep, I did say one eye! "Roger Ebert gave the film three stars out of four and said, "Tears of the Sun is a film constructed out of rain, cinematography and the face of Bruce Willis. These materials are sufficient to build a film almost as good as if there had been a better screenplay". Crap, I'd say, and give one for the movie and half for my eye, since the "rain, cinematography and the face of Bruce Willis" just wasn't enough to attract both for its 2hr22min run, though more accurately, not my sort of movie as I'm more of a dialog person and not a "bomb shoot die" sort. Patience's teeth though, acted by Akosua Busia - no, not her teeth silly, herself - was a highlight worth a half. There were perfect white and they made a feature of them, so 2 out of 4 it gets and next time I'll stick with a book!

Beorn: Sarah Connor in the new Terminator movie isn't a terminator, she's human. And even if she's a terminator, there's nothing wrong with it. Help me to remind the woman-hater you're discussion with that she's a female too, at least, allegedly. |

AHCB: Yeah, she will play a human protagonist similar to her role in Judgement Day. |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nairatalks: 4:48am On May 24, 2019 |
DannyKoice: I watched the trailer again. When Sarah Connor was surprised at the female terminator, the female terminator said that she is human. Maybe she is like robocop. A human in a robot body or the terminator protagonist in salvation who was a human changed to a robot. You know what, I just realised that the babes responses became more and more foolish as they progressed. I would advise Beorn to learn to stop having calm conversations with ignorant folks after a certain amount of time because you will just go deeper and deeper into abyss. Sarah Connor has been a major co-protagonist from the first terminator movie, and someone here is claiming that they are trying to feminise the terminator franchise. How silly. 1 Like |

DannyKoice: I know Sarah Connor isn't a Terminator but a human and that there's not wrong with a female Terminator at all, I was only talking about the fact that BBC were suggesting that that'd be a female Terminator (likely a protagonist) in the upcoming movie). https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-45043129 I don't know if she's a woman hater but I think she gave a good reason (at least for herself) for kicking against a female Terminator protagonist even though there's absolutely nothing wrong even if both the protagonist and antagonist are both female Terminators. P.S: I still wonder what went wrong between you and Ishi offline. When I came on here newly, you two were really tight and friendly, she even suggested that you're her *****. I belive in what happened offline should remain offline, so it's better to let the sleeping dog lie. But I think you'd try to tolerate her even if you'll not been cool with her. At least for peace sake. 1 Like |

Nairatalks: I can be uncivil and brash depending if someone attacked me or if the situation called for it, but she didn't display an unruly behavior so I see no reason why I'd not show decorum in our discussion. I think she's oblivious about some happenings in the Terminator franchise going by her posts, plus she's only seen just two Terminator movies from the franchise. |
