Kenya ranked the best in Africa and 52nd Globally in the recently released Government Artificial Intelligence Readiness Index 2019.
Kenya already have BlockChain and AI taskforce headed by visionary Dr. Bitange Ndemo one of the architect of Konza Technopolis.

Nigeria is ranked 107 - as usual with Benin and Mali

There are no African countries in the top 50 positions, and only 12 African countries (out of 54 in the list) are in the top 100. The top five placed African governments are Kenya at number 52, Tunisia at 54, Mauritius at 60, South Africa at 68, and Ghana number 75. This reflects the well-documented developments in the technology sectors of these countries.

Kenya is well ahead on the digital journey. People cannot just learn - it gov to go digital - forcing people to acquire those skills. For instance many gov services are now online - so a lot of people have to open accounts - e-Citizen, TIMS (NTSA), KRA e-filling of tax returns - name it.

I believe the current Huduma number will provide the biometrics needed to finally go fully digital.

Gives me a smile on my face when I see that everything is ''tech-focused'' this days. For instance the ticketing system is almost everywhere from telecom's customer care shops to banks, from huduma centres to even here in the University,we have an online ticketing system that works just like the normal one you'll see in banks. We need to embrace this little things and bring more in as far as digitization is concerned!

While Nigeria typically is unable to even do Census (too broke smiley ) Kenya which already had one of Africa strongest National ID system - just went digital - with completion of Huduma (Service) Number registrations - that not only take and store biometrics digitally (finger prints, pictures) taken - and their documents attached - in national database - that will be used by gov and non-gov for authentication.

Kenyans queuing for Huduma Number registration - about 40M are expected to register by tomorrow.

Imagine a future where you just use your fingerprints on some device - and voila - you're authenticated - and can get private and public sector services - you don't have to carry your national ID. Criminals like our Nigerian brother - you just need to swipe their fingerprint - on crime scene - and voila - you know the criminals - complete with their phone numbers and basic demographic info. This is the game changer - we had manual biometrics that took forever and were impossible to share - but now - we can continue the digital journey with solid Identification system.

This data is crucial in so many things in terms of national planning. They just have to keep the data safe.,tax evaders and criminals will have to up their game as it will come a moment where everyone's details will be in the system!

Census - is more of planning data - Huduma - is more operational data. Look like we will also get digital number plates, we basically need everything digital - digital police occurrence book, digital listing of criminals and past offenders, digital cameras all over - we already have e-passport- this will help ensure we have transparency and integrity - and will go a long way in fighting corruption and many crimes - and will make life simple and easy for the majority of people who are law abiding.

Nah I just washed the video.
It was horrifying for a new terminal.
Nana should have invested in quality infastructure and not save up some for corrupt practice
You have a challenge, This is normal and it happens in many developed European countries. Even they scoop water on the field before a big match involving Chelsea and Manchester City. Why do you want to exaggerate it as anything worst than the leaking muritala airport which is human factor. This is natural occurrence. Goverment can only reduce the damage. And you know one thing about Ghana. It is quick- wittedness. . As i am currently typing, the drainage system to the flood area is undergoing construction. And to what is been reported that the terminal 3 itself was flooded. Disregard it, it is propaganda by the sitting Goverment to discredit the past administration who built the new terminal. Ghana is going to polls 2020.

AI will in few years take over..this is not about human resource thingy but how well are we prepared for the disruption. Many African countries who think theye got ths youthful population for labour and stuff are in for a rude shock.
