Messi is one of the best footballers of all time!

But he is not the greatest!

I think is easier to score with a team you have played with for over a decade..

When he leaves his comfort zone(Barcelona) and still performs then we can now call him GOAT#

Well said, man. If it's sheer stats or performance he probably will be winning the ballon dor every year but just like you said they raise the bar so high for him that winning the la liga and copa del Rey and finishing the season as the highest goal scorer with one of the highest assists all aren't enough. He has to win all those and the champions league for him to win it.

Feel for the guy sometimes, but proper football fans know he's by far the best. Man Utd, Madrid and some other fan boys can keep deluding themselves that Ronaldo is his equal. tongue

he is an advanced playmaker. A playmaker can be midfielder or a forward. They are not mutually exclusive.
Playmaker awards are most times gauged with assists, chances created etc.
Has nothing to do with being a midfielder.

No, a playmaker can never be a forward...he plays an advanced playmaker role with an attack function when he's an attacking midfielder only!

Moving to juventus and winning the league isn't a challenge. My grand ma can join them and they'd still win the league. Proper challenge will be for Ronaldo to accept a pay cut and help Napoli win the league.

What next? Ronaldo would join PSG and win the league with them and you guys will have us believe it's a great challenge.

Messi wins the forward of the season in la liga every yeard.
Yes, playmaker is role that can be played from many positions.
A deep lying playmaker is one who operates from the center midfield e.g jorginho, alonso, busquet, pirlo etc. An advanced playmaker is one who creates play from more advanced postion on the pitch(attacking midfield or forward postions depending on formation setup).
For example, Hazard is a playmaker who has played as a forward for the past two seasons.
Playmaking is something you do not a position itself. Messi is a play simply because he sets up attack and creates a lot chances for his teammates. Nothing more.

Google premier league playmaker award and see if not related to assists or chances created(something anybody in any postion can get)
