Hello house,

Wishing you all the best with your applications!

I submitted my student visa application on the 23rd of May and front-loaded my sponsor's SOA with a balance of about 13.37m naira, I have also paid the required deposit of 8150AUD to Deakin for the CoE with my full tuition for one year being 32600 AUD. When I did all of my calculations, the amount that is needed in my sponsor's account was just under 12m naira. However, I am worried if the 13.37m will be enough considering I saw a case on this thread of someone getting denied because of the funds for the subsequent year of studies.

My sponsor in question has her company (she is the majority shareholder and sole signatory) fixed deposit account with about 32m naira. The fixed deposit has a maturity date of 19th of December 2019. I am now thinking that it might be worth attaching the fixed deposit slip and a letter showing she is the sole signatory to the account to the application on Monday. What do you guys think?

Thanks a lot for helping me with this, you know the usual paranoia during the wait lol it is getting to me!

Ya you have submitted the bank statement to start with. Well these immigration guys look at the inflow and out flow of cash in your bank statement and if there has been any money lodgement within the last 6 months and how often they occurred.

If the remaining balance was 12m and your sponsor had 13m means they will be left with 1m. Does your sponsor have family she is looking after or rather dependent on her? How is the flow of money in and out of her account?

I strongly suggest you print, certify and upload the statement of her 32m business fixed deposit and write a short note explaining how the money came about.

Thanks a lot for the quick response.

My sister is married with one kid, and as for the account she sent me, there was very little activity on the account over the 3-month period which was what we used for the application. Is there any way I can attach the actual statement and fixed deposit slip in a pm to you so you have a look? I would really appreciate that.

And thanks, I will go ahead and attach the fixed deposit statement on Monday to the application along with the short note.

[quote author=thefortuneone post=78723610]You are exempted from English Language test, because if you are not exempted, the school will not offer you COE.

Best of luck in your visa application.

[thank you ]

Most people don't acknowledge the fact that University admission processing is different from Immigration processing.
If your school access you and are satisfied you meet up the requirement to study, immigration do not really have the right to question that except may be you have applied to a lower / level 3 institution.

Having said that, you may want to submit a letter from your University in England stating:

Your full names

Program name

Program duration

Language medium of teaching

Most people who apply to an AL1 program also make the mistake of including a bank statement and sometimes end up shooting themselves in the foot. I advise people to wait until asked by the case officer to provide one.
You will never be denied visa on the ground of not providing a bank statement at the time of visa lodgement.

The ball is in your court mate.

Thank you

Hello guys,
I was offered Admission into Australian Catholic University for MSc in Teaching(Secondary) and I applied for my visa on the 16th of May with three FD of 16m, 6m and 5m respectively. All in the name of my two elder brothers and the 6m and 5m belonging to my dad. Please what’s the assurance of a grant and how long should it take. P.S I’m with the July intake.
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by WestAfrican: 11:56am On May 26, 2019
I understand all you have said. Usually, immigration read huge sum of money in an account as money lodgement.
Like I earlier said you may want to summit the 32m fixed deposit statement with a letter attached to it stating how and why the money got there.

If she has received some interest on the maturity of that FD in the past, it will be nice to attach it as well. Australia doesn't ready have one on one interview, your documents speak for you. Also make sure you certify that 32m FD before attaching it.

@okolodaniel,

You were not required to submit financial statement. Deakin University is an AL1 assessment. But stay calm most likely they will overlook the statement submitted and concentrate on the required documents you submitted.

Check reviews from people, look at their programs to see which of them suits you most and a host of other things like job placements and co.

P.S check for their rankings, Australia and world wise.

Thanks so much for this, I really appreciate. This is the second year of the FD so she has had interest payments on the maturity in the past.

As in, I’m just hoping like you say they’ll just overlook the financial part as my GTE and other documents were very well planned. I’ll update tthe house once I hear back from them on the application.

Don't mean to discourage you but the only thing you can get from studying MBA in Australia is 2years post study work visa (485), you can't use MBA to apply for PR but if you choose Tasmania as your destination, you may be eligible for (887) after your 2years post study work visa provided that you meet the requirements.

Sweet the FD has yelled interest in the past. So print, certify and attach that as well so your CO will know it wasn't just done for the visa application. Godspeed

Respected Gurus in the house, I seek your opinion and advice on this little, yet complex issue. I recently completed an Msc Degree in public health in England and I was admitted for a doctoral research in Edith Cowan University, Perth Australia. I got my COE on Friday and I'm in the process of making my online visa lodgement. My question evolves around English language test exemptions as I read that student enrolled in a postgraduate research course are exempted from English language proficiency tests as stated on https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/student-500. Excerpts as follows: You do not need to provide evidence of an English test score with your visa application if one of the following applies: you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), or a registered post-graduate research course. My question goes thus, can I proceed with the submission of my e-lodgement as I fall in the exemption category baring in mind that my Uni has indicated in my COE that I have satisfied their English language requirement or do I still need to write an English test prior to submission. Advice and comments are welcome

You may be exempted by school but not by immigration. When I applied, my 1 year Education in UK exempted me for school, but I did an English test because immigration required 3 - 5 years in an English speaking country.

I don't know if the latter requirement is still in place.

You may be exempted by school but not by immigration. When I applied, my 1 year Education in UK exempted me for school, but I did an English test because immigration required 3 - 5 years in an English speaking country.

I don't know if the latter requirement is still in place.

Thank you for your comment, however it is also stated on the immigration website that students enrolled in a postgraduate research course also fall into the exemption category
