tylann:oil economy. NIGERIA economy was booming well in 2010 down to 2014 and early 2015. Immideatly, oil price slow down, the growth also slow down. America cut out of buying Nigeria oil, India occupy the position. Now saudi Arabia whom they think is their friend is aready establishing a strong relationship with India and may soon replace Nigeria as largest exporter of oil into India So the future is becoming more blear than before. . |

tylann:Chai....Imagine your 2nd largest city just got her first traffic light in this 21st century. When we tell you backward folks that Nigeria is not in the same league with Kenya you get infuriated. Do you know that traffic lights are as common as air in every state capital in Nigeria. Kenya is a one city country where development is an exclusive right of Nairobi at the expense of other counties. |

obaaderemi:there is no day nigeria will ever attain those growth numbers again, only in your wildest dreams. nigeria, tanzania and to some extent south africa are commodity driven economies, and you know whats is going on with the prices of most commodities, as a matter of fact, if the prices of oil fall any further nigeria will slip back to recession. 1 Like |

Kazikazi:the only food tanzania can export to kenya is maize, because its not staple in tanzania and uganda, so its natural for kenya to import from you. just like kenya export irish potatoes to Tz. the Turkana story is old and tired, mind you that the people of turkana have started exporting oil and the largest aquifer discovered in their land recently, soon turkana will be the engine that power Kenya. |

cossano:You'll probably shoot yourself to death the day Nigeria's economy grows at those high rates again with the level of hate and envy displayed in your post. ![]() You should know that Venezuela is also an oil exporter like Nigeria. Why is Venezuela's economic growth still negative since the fall in oil prices while Nigeria's economy growth is already above 2% now? That should tell you Nigeria's economy is not as oil dominated as many of you stupidly think. Nigeria’s economic growth has been driven by growth in agriculture, telecommunications, and services in recent times. It's not doing well,I agree, due to corruption and some bad policies by the current president but it could have been far worse than it is. |

This is the concern by residents of counties in the arid areas of North Eastern Kenya after the supply of the food suddenly rations stopped. Reports reaching The Grapevine say that locals in Mandera, Isiolo, Marsabit, Garissa, Wajir and Turkana have not received any support in the last one month, leaving them to face hunger pangs. Questions are now being raised on what happens to the billions of shillings said to have been set aside by the government to provide foodstuff and other basic needs to the people who are in the risk of suffering from starvation. Over to you Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa. In other news… A former top government official said to be eyeing a political seat in 2022 seems to have outwitted his opponents. After getting tired of being humiliated in funerals and other public meetings by people who switch off the microphone or grab it from him as he is speaking, the man who was disgracefully kicked out office had to act. 1 Like |
