What happened to the relief food programme targeting famine stricken areas? This is the concern by residents of counties in the arid areas of North Eastern Kenya after the supply of the food suddenly rations stopped.

Reports reaching The Grapevine say that locals in Mandera, Isiolo, Marsabit, Garissa, Wajir and Turkana have not received any support in the last one month, leaving them to face hunger pangs.

Questions are now being raised on what happens to the billions of shillings said to have been set aside by the government to provide foodstuff and other basic needs to the people who are in the risk of suffering from starvation. Over to you Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa.

All the money has been stolen again! Remember how they hid this problem from the whole world until we exposed it here. cheesy
Kenyan corruption is killing the people of Turkana.Donations have been given from all over the world but have been stolen in customary Kenyan way.Below is how a British envoy described Kenyans in 2004:

"Evidently the practitioners now in
government have the arrogance, greed and perhaps
a desperate sense of panic to lead them to eat like
gluttons. But they can hardly expect us not to care
when their gluttony causes them to vomit all over
our shoes."
grin
Sir Edward said it was now unlikely that donors
would help to pay for Kenya's development. Kenya's
budget banks on donors paying for about half of its
needs.
Kenyans always think of food. The lazy louts. grin

KENYA IS NOT YOUR MATE.

Other than Arusha or Moshi that's the truth in not only N Tz but C,S,E and W Tanzania. '97 I was in Kisumu and crossed the border to Tarime for a day trip and ended up staying almost a week-nothing to do and even less to see. The good thing is they recognise a Kenyan unlike this particular Genius.

It's called "coming out of recession". Before the recession we grew at an average rate of 8%.The year before the recession, we had the third fastest economy in the world. And we have started growing again.

Ok,son,if you insist! Earlier I told you your then CBN gov should be behind bars for helping cook up fake stats-remember? It seems karma,as always may be catching up with him:heard of the billion dollar scandals?

It is shocking to read in Nigerian media the postulation that president Muhammadu Buhari is seeking the restatement of Central Bank of Nigeria governor Godwin Emefiele for a second five year term. Goodness graciousness! Hammer house of horror! It can't be true!

One can only hope that as hopeless as things have been in recent years for Nigerians, this latest piece of news does not turn out to be true.

The same Godwin Emefiele behind the ongoing FOREX subsidy scam that former CBN governor and now Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi correctly lamented was making cabal billionaires overnight? Read: https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/fg-creating-billionaires-through-forex-sanusi.html

The same CBN governor who Reuters reported was funneling billions to already questionably wealthy cabal like Dangote with as much as a billion dollars being transferred to him in a year through preferential FOREX scams? See: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-nigeria-forex-dangote-insight/africas-richest-man-got-a-fistful-of-dollars-in-nigerian-currency-squeeze-idUSKCN0Z90G5

The same Emefiele behind the tanking of Nigeria's small business sector through FOREX misadventures at the beginning of Buhari's administration which sent the FOREX exchange value towards N1000 to a dollar before Osinbajo stepped in?

It gets even worse if this, audio can be believed-I ACTUALLY WISH ITS FAKE NEWS,BUT KNOWING NAIJ.....take a listen.

Godwin Emefiele, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and his Deputy Edward Lametek Adamu and the Director for Finance Dayo M. Arowosegbe including one of the Special Advisers to the CBN Governor, Emmanuel Ukeje have been caught on tape discussing how to cover up the loss of over N500billion stolen from the CBN in a private investment that went bust.

Two authentic telephone audio tapes exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters reveal how the governor and top officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria haggled over plots to conceal the loss of huge sums of monies in a Dubai investment according to sources at the bank.

A former top government official said to be eyeing a political seat in 2022 seems to have outwitted his opponents.

After getting tired of being humiliated in funerals and other public meetings by people who switch off the microphone or grab it from him as he is speaking, the man who was disgracefully kicked out office had to act.

Mental illness is on the increase in Nigeria. Generally, people are becoming more and more stressed due to the hardship and difficulties we have in the country. They do not have money, so an increasing number of people are engaging in self-medication. More people are abusing alcohol and drugs like Tramadol and Cannabis sativa

That figure, to put it in a clearer perspective, translates to 60 million of the estimated 200 million population of the country. Which means that were all the mentally ill people in Nigeria to be confined to a definite territory and classified a distinct country of their own, they will be more populous than Spain 46 million, Canada 36 million, Morocco 35 million, Ghana 28 million, Australia 24 million and The Netherlands 17 million.

Over 93 million Nigerians are living in extreme poverty, according to data obtained at the World Poverty Clock, a Vienna, Austria-based data lab

According to the data by World Poverty Clock, created by Vienna-based World Data Lab, 93.641 million Nigerians were living below a dollar a day as of May, 25 2019.

The Nation understands that the target escape rate is 15.3%, while the current escape rate is at -4.3.

A report released in February 2019 revealed that at least three million Nigerians have slipped into extreme poverty between November 2018 and February 2019.

The outgoing Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Abdul’aziz Yari, has said the increasing rate of unproductive population in the country constitutes a time bomb and must be addressed.

Mr Yari, who is also the outgoing governor of Zamfara, stated this during the valedictory session of the National Economic Council (NEC) held at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday.

The governor who said: “We are sitting on a time bomb,” stressed the need for urgent actions against the increase in the number of unproductive population in the country.

And there's no hope for Nigeria....More than 70 percent of the world's poorest people live south of the Sahara today, with that share projected to rise to 87 percent a decade from now.

Poverty is expected to remain persistently widespread in Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo, World Data Lab forecasts.

BTW,this proves smth significant. In the last years of the Moi era this had become a trend. I was logging before the '99 ban and guys had plantations deep in Mt Kenya and the Aberdares. No surprise knowing how crazy those days were. How does a country with a long standing nyumba kumi system and militarized sociopolitics have this ishyt IF NOT FOR MASSIVE CORRUPTION!?
The next phase is the owners will get guns to protect their product-luckily for us,Moi's exit stymied that step. I rmbr a guy with 20 ac of bhang in Njabini asked me if I could source AKs after thieves stole three acres.
The final phase is well armed criminals who don't give an EFF for human life and thus a narco state is born.
