I'm going to try and explain this from two angles.

1. Manufacturer/retailer's angle: When you root your phone, you loose your ability to claim warranty should there be anything wrong with your phone even when the fault is not due to rooting the phone. Apps such as banking apps and other information sensitive apps might not run at all whenever they detect root on your phone (unless you go in the way of magisk systemless root). Rooted phones are deemed vulnerable to attacks from malwares such as a rootkit disguised as another app just to steal your login info or spy on you.

Remedy: Be careful with the types of apps you allow to gain root access. Don't just grant all Apps root access.

2. User angle: Rooting does not damage (repairable software damage) your phone. What damages your phone is the process/method utilized to gain root AND what you do with root when you eventually have it. Rooting a phone is just a means of obtaining administrative privileges as seen on Microsoft window OS.

Bottom line: There is no inr answer to your question regarding the goodness or danger of rooting an android phone as it depends on the following:

a) why root?
b) who is carrying out the rooting process?
c) what should be done next if something go wrong during rooting process or during root usage
d) what will I be doing with root access?

If you can't answer those questions, then rooting is probably not for you.

ROOTING IS SAFE AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

It happens once in a while on my phone but I realise that setting the hotspot security to NONE and restricting users to 1 fixes the problem. Try that and let's see if it works.

As for the detection, that might have to do with your PC. Be sure that your PC is able to detect other hotspots. If it does, you should then check your phone's hotspot settings and toggle the frequency band either from 2.4ghz to 5.0ghz or vice versa depending on where it was as default (also that's if the option is available on the S4)

My PC detects other phone's hotspot...so i think I'll change the frequency band to 5.0 ghz cuz i saw that option

1st, is the 9mobile 4G enabled? If yes, then try using manual configuration for the APN settings. Ensure that the accesspoint (e.g: mobile.etisalat.com) is correctly entered, enter the Proxy (i think 9mobile uses: 010.071.170.005)and Port (8080). Pls confirm the APN and proxy supplied by google searching but i think that's it becos I typed it by heart. Manual settings could just be your solution.

2nd, switch to 3G only under network settings and let's see what happens.

PS: Ensure that the 9mobile is set as your default Data Sim under sim management. Let's know how it turns out.

Thank you so much for your contribution. I have tried the second option you gave. Would try out the first.

Thanks once again
