Onitsha is a small town in Anambra state. Going by your assertion, Nnewi, Lekki, Festac and Idumota should have there own universities and polytechnics too.

How exactly has multiplicity of mushroom Universities helped Nigeria?

Anambra is the smallest state in Nigeria after Lagos.
The distance between Onitsha and Igbariam where Anambra State University is located is at best 45mins.
To Awka is one hour. To Ogwashi ukwu where Delta Poly is located is probably 30-45mins, Asaba also hosts a campus of DELSU.
We have school Of Nursing at Nkpor And Ogidi, School of Health sciences in Obosi,

You are not even making any sense. Oyi and Idemili North are all parts of greater Onitsha metropolis, and they all house polytechnics and Universities.
