Good morning to you all. Please concerning the use of Form A that was raised yesterday, I travelled to Bayelsa and made enquiries from Zenith bank and was told the CBN rate using form A is 342.3581 per Euro.

Please can someone also confirm from any zenith bank or other banks. The different will go along way to reduce cost(403 - 343) = 60*8,640 = NGN 518,400. i.e 1,286 Euros

I strongly belive we can fund our BA using Form A since its not peak period. All we need to do is find out the avereage processing time with CBN and check if ok with your TIME. Max of 2weeks should be enough to get this done(which is worth it)

Lets hear your findings.....

I cancelled on Monday and reapplied same day in category A, and nothing yet...just the confirmation of application. I don't think it has anything to do with the holiday, but rather the large deflection of applicants from B to A.

Senior man, abeg this deflection thing, how e be sef? I have CGPA of 3.57/5.0 in my BSc do i qualify for that A-List thing? Because I'm looking at that option of

holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree...

Hi Everyone, good morning.

To gurus in the house, I need your advise the below issues.

1. I have gotten my masters admission from Kiel University (Quantitative Finance, to resume 1st of October 2019) but I'm currently trying to raise the blocked account money of 8867 Euro as quick as possible. Pending when I fully raise the money, do you advise I go ahead submitting my visa application now due to how long the process, then before my interview date would have paid the blocked account money? Are there any negative implications to doing this?

2. What blocked account company is best to use, Coracle or Fintiba, bearing in mind that Coracle gives free travel insurance, do not request for health insurance payment till you get to Germany and do not deduct any monthly charges.

3. What is the best travel insurance you advise I utilize?

4. Trust I can obtain a birth certification from Lagos High court.

5. What's the best time to send in your student visa application? and which is the surest application route on going it?

6. When is the best time to apply for accommodation?

Let me try and answer your questions, I stand to be corrected on places where i don't have an idea
1. You can go ahead apply for visa appointment even when you don't have the complete blocked funds usually people fund the week to their interview date, but others fund some weeks after their visa appointment there's no specific way you can do whichever you feel will be most convenient for you.

2. Both coracle and fintiba are good, the both are recognized and approved by the German consulate so there's nothing to worry about, personally I want to use coracle. Most people go for fintiba because other naija people have tried it and that's what they are using grin Coracle is still trying to gain popularity amongst Nigerian students although it's very very popular in India and other regions
so I guess by next year it will be widely used by Nigeria (my view oh)

3. AXA mansard is good I don't know of any others sha but you can keep asking from other people

4. I thought birth certificate is issued by National Population commission

5 I don't understand this question but if you're asking which is sure between category A or B.. Please don't stress yourself use A

6. After your visa interview start hustling that one by making contacts after all you don't make payments for any room till you reach Germany so las las nobody lose

These are my opinions oh if anyone has other contributions they are welcome too

See Ehn... They will tell you it's that rate, but when the time comes it's a different story. Some banks will even put it on their boards at 345 but will never do the transfer at that rate.... Hope yours is different. All the best

I live in Abuja. Appointments in Abuja are very limited and subject to availability. --- (I actually live in Lagos, but can travel to Abuja if required)

I have a scholarship of a German organisation. --- (I don't have scholarship of a German Organisation, I only have a discounted fee from my school, and it was also called scholarship)

If you live in Lagos, why not do the interview in Lagos, well its up to you oh.
I don't know but you can mail them sha explaining why you want to have your interview ]n Abuja, also if the address in your admission letter bears Abuja then you are likely to have your interview in Abuja.

You have a partial scholarship na, so you can actually tick the scholarship option and go along with the proof too

Congratulations on the admission and God's best in the rest of the process wink

Hey guys, I had my visa interview today. Got there as early as 5.30 and went to go sleep in the car till 6.30 because there was no one there yet.
So Paulinus checked my passport and showed us how to arrange the documents.
N.B do not staple anything. He would do that for you if needed.
My interview started around 7.45
I was interviewed by the dark lady with dreads. I dn dey fear but she was so cool with me.
Did my biometrics
She sorted out my documents and i signed some forms because I just blocked my account on Monday so fitinba has not confirmed it.
So to the questions:
Have you learned German
Msc or Bsc
-Why this course : environmental science since i did biochemistry for my bsc
-why Germany
-why not Nigeria
-why not u.k and u.s
-plans after school
-five facts about Germany
-when did the reunification happen
And that was all.
She told me the visa process takes max of 8 weeks.
Anyhoo, that was it. Hope this was helpful
P.S for some reason my waec scratch card was in my folder she returned and she did not notice when she was checking my documents.
Dont know what to do. Please. Thanks

This is one of the ways of giving back. I don't want to talk about some selfish fellows that have gone for interview and kept their transcript to themselves. I know some of them. Thats really bad. They only tell us when they start encountering some issues. If am not wrong, this should be the first transcript for winter 2019. Why? Yet we have lots of guys that have had their interviews. Let's change our ways.
Thank you very much for sharing your transcript. AM will fall on you soon. Well done Chocboi007.

Form A discussions.
Get it clear. All these banks are in business. CBN rate is definitely not aboki rate.
All banks do these Form A thing. And they source forex from CBN and Co. They will tell u the rates per day. Ofcos all banks can pay school fees and transfer monies using Form A. The rate won't be aboki rate.
But the thing is, when jungle mature, they will tell u forex is scarce and that there is a waiting list of plenty customers. So if u can wait, (it can be endless), it can be done. These are realities in banks.
But ofcos if u are in the category of wanting it urgently, u can open your dom account, buy from aboki, fund your dom, and the bank moves it to Germany for u.
So, do people truly get these low rates from banks, True. All na function of time.
But I can bet u, the majority go thru aboki
Am sure experienced guys on the platform have explained these transactions very well here.

As touching the CBN form A, I made enquires from first bank.
Their Form A rate for Euro is N399 but you must have an account with them to be able to do such transaction. Let's get the rates for other banks please so we can weigh the options.

Let me also add, form A is used for invisible trades usually school fees payment. Invoice should be generated by the school and payment is made directly to the school account. But the payment to block account is neither school fees nor the invoice generated by a school. So unless someone has done this before we need to be very sure before proceeding. Most of the people you meet at the branches might not give you the full details or maybe we are not asking the right questions, until you send your documents and they reject it from their head office. I might not be 100% right but this is the bit I know about form A
