There are reasons to be worried... Out of all the big clubs in the top five leagues, we performed the worst... Sixth of the top six of the league, even arsenal can say they got to the final of an European competition. Chelsea came third, Tottenham is in a UCL final.... Even Atalanta is going to the UCL. Except we wanna start comparing ourselves to AC Milan in recent times!

We’ve been approaching the problem the same way since Ferguson left and we’ve made many mistakes no headway. Last season was our best campaign in the UCL for many years and we should’ve qualified for the UCL if things didn’t suddenly go wrong.

I don’t expect us to challenge next season. We don’t have the squad nor the experience. Even if we invest heavily and buy 11 world class players, there’s no guarantee that we’ll clinch the title. There are so many factors in play.

So, instead of vex-buying after another poor season, I’m open to a different approach. We need players that will be useful for us; we don’t need to buy players that are good but won’t fit in.

And striking immediately in the market doesn’t mean we’re serious than others.

Chilwell will bench Shaw based on his superior attacking ability. We need attacking fullbacks otherwise our struggles against some of the smaller clubs will extend into next season.

In terms of midfield additions our midfield is so poor, and there are so many good midfielders in Europe that improving that part of the team should be easy on paper. Bruno Fernandes, Ndombele, Rabiot, Ndidi, Tielemans, Ruben Neves, and any of the Atletico midfielders i.e Rodri, Partey, Koke, Saul.
