It is crminal that Aigbogun left Ofoborh and Ogbu on the bench.. Absolutely criminal.

They are far better than the alternatives.. These are the things that raise questions. The class of Ofoborh and Ogbu was clear. If not for injury, we might not have seen Ofoborh.

How is Tijani a player?? Very very poor. More important question, how is he a starter??

Aigbogun is either poor in judgement, blind or compromised in his player selection

Who scored the goal? Who won the penalty?

But when we raised questions here about Ogbu u were the one who told us he failed a late fitness test. So Aigbogun should have fielded an unfit player?

As for Ofoborh it is very obvious Dele-Bashiru is rated ahead of him.

So how is Aigbogun now a criminal?

That is what i was told but he was fine for the other game against USA. I am starting to doubt that fittness claim.

And Ofoborh was kept on the bench by Jamil... Ofoborh is clearly far better than Jamil. The gulf in class is too obvious.

Today s game was the best by this team...could it be that the team is improving? Could it be that injuries are forcing the coach s hand to do the right thing?

Not just Ofoborh but Ogbu. The coach's choice of player is appalling. Doesn't have eyes for talent. Or could he be afraid of something. Probabaly nff officials or agents.

Agreed

I forget New Zealand is also there

North America self worst

North America that there are only two true footballing nations will be sending same number of teams as S/America and Africa. Imagine Brazil didn't qualify and the S/American teams are likely to make second round while 3 from Africa are making it. Meanwhile only 1 out of 4 North American teams are likely to make second round.

FIFA needs to take off one slot each from Oceania, North America and Asia.

Mmm... regarding Musa, its been 10 years already and the man is still balling.. no sign of old age or decline there ..
Forget the fact that he is playing in Saudi Arabia,he is still good!
I see him balling more for a few more years.. might even make Qatar 2022 grin

He was among those young ones that removed 2-3years.

Watching Igoh Ogbu feels like watching young Joseph Yobo all over again.

Ofoborh is class though he doesn't have an athletic physique. Boy can ball, he is full of brains.

Some strikers would have sat there and not done a single thing the service was that bad. Both Rabiu and Ikeuwem had poor deliveries today. He worked very hard for the team and you can't say he missed any glaring chances so I think you are being extra harsh on him. We saw that the other striker couldn't muster anything against the United States. However you put it the stats still read 2 pks won and 1 goal.

I totally agree about Ofoborh and Ogbu. Ogbu should have started over that other lad from day one but you were the one who said he was injured na.

Ofoborh looks like the real deal.

I am sure you thought Ukraine will "spank" Nigeria and we will crash out at the group stage.

You are the one that has a lot to learn about football.

I am not the one that supports a team doomed to failure by poor coaching and player selection

It is you that has a lot to learn

Tijani is poor aerially, hold up play poor, positioning poor. There were times when crosses could be delivered but Tijani was on the wings instead of in the center. He is a poor player overall.

I was told that he failed a fitness test but he was fine against USA.

It seems Paul wants to market some players hence the need to forcefully play them but after the defeat, em head dey reset small small.

Mikel set was never 3rd and mikel set didn't play crappy football ,they lost 2-1 to Korea surprisingly with just 3 minutes left

Take a look at the group standings during 2005

So u don't have ambition? Because you're indigenous aren't you?
but I am not a coach na.

the ones amongst them that are ambitious ain't scared to take up opportunities elsewhere outside the country...e.g amuneke rather than sit tight hoping for the national team job.
if you're a coach please aim high and refuse compromise all because of few dollar notes...
wanna see a Nigerian coach European teams someday in top leagues...

Even if Ogbu was fit ahead of the USA game, players selection 101 says u don't change a winning team. Especially as the team won by 4:0. There is that tendency to start same defense line especially as they kept a clean sheet. If Ogbu had played that US game and we lost by that 2:0 he would probably had been dropped for this game.

but the coach is thinking more of his pockets than the future....
he is not even thinking of winning the tourney .....

that's the ambitious thing I talk about.

a more serious minded coach...will replay the tapes over and over again...take down notes and key points...work on them in training and try out players during training to see if they suit his tactics...but the coach is daft...

other than to subject the players to hectic and highly intensive training
