PatrickOkunima:I'm not an average barber, however, these are my observations; here, the barbers push hairline backwards and their clients doesn't care something i find highly offensive all through my ten years of barbing in the city where we were charging #300 for adult and #150 for children, on getting to this northern town i discovered barbing is cheaper 200/100 which i find very discouraging but i have no option than to peg it at the prevailing price but to make it worst i discovered this guy charge as low as #100 for adult and #50 for shaving that's supposed to be #100. Moreso, he learnt the work here and also from here. Though he's good |

Location of your small business matters a lot. It must be located in a place where there is enough in-flow of people because it is the people that patronize u. LOCATION of business is very important. |

helinues: Serious bad manners! You can enter the shop of a person selling trinkets/small stuff and their facial expression is enough to sour milk. No smile. No greeting. They just want your money. 99% of the time they don't get the money anyway. Same thing in banks until they check your account balance. No regard for customers. A bank with a broken row of seats, but they know their service is so crappy that people will need to sit. They expect a tip to lie that you are at the front of the queue but stepped away earlier on. But what does one expect from small businesses? HSBC can't compare to the Nigerian banking service. You can't compare glum faced cashier's at malls to the real deal out there. |

Naanlong01: If you're bent on the barbing salon business, then you should start considering a relocation to a place where customers can afford ₦250 (or Higher) haircut. 1 Like 1 Share |

@ OP thanks for those good tips I learnt how to crochet here on NL 3 years ago when I was bored n jobless. I perfected the skill and decided to turn it into a source of income as friends kept commending d uniqueness of my handmade items These are a few of what have helped me in my business so far I'm a very active member of NL and have made quite a number of friends here I've met some physically too 1. Make a business plan/ goal for every new year and work towards achieving them 2. Save something no matter how small the business is. It will come in handy to purchase important tools/materials for d biz 3. you gat to be friendly mehn I make friends often and advertise my skill to them. I also get to know what they do and patronize them if they are good. "TRUST" has been established plus friendship is supposed to be reciprocal you know... 4. Though my products are luxury but I try to make it fair just to attract customers and get referals from them which has been working for me. 5. I don't have a physical shop yet but that is in the pipeline so for now na online hustle I advertise on NL, FB and IG. Although I haven't made much sales from the last 2. Truth is majority of my sales comes from NL here all thanks to my activeness and daily interactions with members. There are so many scammers in the online market so peeps are threading cautiously to avoid "Mogbe my hard earned money is gone!!!" 6. I give my best in my skill. Truth be told "times are hard" so peeps want to get value for their money. Give your best to get more customers. My Lordship leaves all the barbers in our neighbourhood and cuts his hair faraway in town cos d barber is bamn 7. If you're into handmade products like me pls consider partnering with shopping malls or big supermarkets. Its not easy passing their test though( standard) but if you can sail through then the sky will be your stepping stone 8. I don't believe in "jack of all trades" cos a master of all is a master of none. So pls create a niche and stick to it. Work to improve on that niche and be extremely good at it I hope these helps someone |

The truth is that this question has not been answered. The question is how much did you buy each network. Example, how much did you buy MTN 100 naira card before selling it to make profit, and at what rate are you selling it? Kokoebapluse: |

Correspondence: Sir. Right now at what (rate ) doesn't matter right now, we are in a country that price sometime not going the same direction, example I may be selling my card #110, and my colleague sell their own #100 yes it happened everywhere. But what am trying to let you understand is. To be a successful in business you need focus and vision for your business. You are the one that will build your own business you need to know what you really want to achieve in that business, and as I said earlier how much you invest in business will determine profit satisfaction. Thank you |
