JAWBONE: 1. Ethiopia is a country, Lagos is a state in Nigeria 2. Ethiopia is constructing a rail project, but Lagos is constructing Metro rail project with 10 lane freeway and BRT bus access 3. Ethiopia borrowed money from China, Lagos state is self-funding their metro rail 4. Ethiopia is not building a metro system with many rail bridges, on swampy land in Iganmu, across the Lagos Lagoon and the Lagos Marina The Lagos Metro rail is the largest public works in Africa, it's what sovereign Nations embark with sovereign wealth on, not states. As we speak, work is still going on non-stop. Again, if you are going to compare, do so intelligently with facts, knowledge and accurate information to compare with because it is really silly and ignorant to keep comparing unrelated projects in different countries with different sets of issues, terrain and basic facts. 7 Likes 1 Share |

deomelo: Cost has nothing to do with your first and third point. The chinese will not charge more because Lagos is a state or because it is self-funded by LASG (which I doubt). And please backup your other points with figures if you can. Yes the nature of the projects differ but when you look at the magnitude of both projects and their respective price difference, there are questions that needs to be answered. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Splashme: They don't and if they do, why is it hard for you people to show us the contract specifications, requirements and even general details for us to see, compare and judge instead of trying to con and fool people that they are the same and that the cost should be the same. Show us the facts and let's take it from there. 3 Likes 1 Share |

deomelo: No! I totally disagree with you. It's the same company it's not as if we're building Supersonic trains, it's all locomotive, so... What can inflate the price of single rail to be costlier to a double rail? Man, look Electric trains cost more, because it requires more double steel pole from one pole to the other. In fact, I guess you've not boarded Nigerian trains before, don't let me share my experience with you. Because it's bitter. 5 Likes 1 Share |

deomelo: Oga, which part of Nigeria are you from? You're acting too dumb The rate Ghana, our West African neighbor is paying China is similar to what Ethiopia paid. So, why is only Nigeria's rate exceptionally high even with a far less scope of work? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Splashme: Thieves are building railways and roads. What did your lord and saviour Goatluck build in his 6 wasted years? What did PDP build in its 16 wasted years besides building Mama Peace looting accounts? As for the people looting under Buhari's government, when Buhari leaves, they will give account, then Thunder will strike them and their family. 2 Likes |

RichBoy247: Oga, is Buhari's govt funding the Lagos-Ibadan railway? Is signing a loan agreement with China for a project an achievement? Who cannot do such a simple task? Didn't GEJ do it in the case of Abuja-Kaduna railway, airport terminals and Abuja MetroLine projects? See, I only respect leaders who prudently manage resources and fund their own projects. Engaging China to fund a project with massive loans for future generations to pay is not an achievement. 6 Likes 3 Shares |

Everyday one NL I have no idea how foolish PDP apologists live on even when the truth is starring them in the face. Foolish fools among you compared two project concentrating on the cost disparity, more intelligent Nigerians are pointing the difference n possible valid reason that is glaring why the cost of Nigeria is higher but what will foolish PDP lunatics rant about when you can’t put up intelligent debate. You people are too pathetic n despicable, you lot make me sick. NigeriaIsDoomed: 1 Like |

Why not google images of Ethiopia rail line rather than assuming in your small mind that they are no tunnels nor bridges? You even included rail stations. [s] Splashme:[/s] 1. Your co unintelligent people are doing the comparison, not me. 2. If you are going to compare and claim corruption, you first have to give us the construction the details, contract specifications, built in post-construction maintenance and management agreement, training and other contingencies associated with such projects, land cost and compensation, cost or labour and materials in both environments. 3. When you are done furnishing us with the contract details and documentation, we'll take it from there, but for now, you have nothing but ignorant rumours, internet stock photos and lazy assumptions. 4. If you really are interested in fighting corruption, then do the needful, do some research and dig up credible facts and knowledge about both projects. 2 Likes |

NigeriaIsDoomed: Apart from the cost of relocating some facilities, especially the Nigerian Army 81 Ordinance Corps in Yaba which is estimated at over N5 billion, there is also the relocation of oil and gas pipelines within the Lagos axis. Also, the commitment of government to connect the rail line to the country’s premier port in Apapa comes at a huge cost going by recent presentations made to the minister by the contractor and technical consultant. The first article was about cost over which sounds justifiable to me and also why we keep telling you people to stop comparing Ethiopia rail project and the one in Nigeria. From the rubbish you people posted, it clearly explained similar points we've been making about side issues and spending like paying compensations and dealing with other contingencies like relocating military facilities, relocating gas pipelines, extending tracks by miles. Are they facing similar challenges in Ethiopia? No, and you can not prove anything. Inability to read and comprehend shouldn't be one of your many personal issues. 1 Like |

JAWBONE: The projects are the same because they are both railway projects constructed by the same company? So, Toyota Camry car in Nigeria and Ethiopia share the same cost just because they are made by the same company? I hope and pray that you people are not the smartest people in your village because if so, your village is doomed. 3 Likes |

Splashme: Also with Chinese loan, even though his administration generated over $400 billion oil wealth on top of the ECA and other reserves they looted. GEJ and Okonjo stole $2.3 billion and gave it to Dasuki to share with their PPDP cronies from Fayose, to FFK, Metuh and others. That $2.3 billion is enough to build the same Lagos Ibadan Railway we are talking about. You people need to get your facts right |
