someone should pls explain the meaning of support staff as stated by NCS for cadre 8, does it mean they are contract staff and not permanent staffs. pls what are they? I heard they maltreat support staffs and make them do most work

I said they will start sending for invitation not inviting they will say like you’ve been invited for aptitude test on 13t or even 14 just like the way they did for NNPC

@jumoke, from the little I know n I stand to be corrected by loppy, support staff most likely stay in office of all the departments or doctorates or commands or HQ, support staff stay in the offices to assist others who are in the fields, u could handle paper works, sensitive documents for ogas, office computers, take inventory, customer care services, or follow the brass/ogas as aides as the case maybe, they don't use civilian to ran their offices or HQ rather support staff, support staff are the public civil servants in custom offices

They perform assigned duties, most of their roles and activities are based on directives. Some support staff however function in sensitive departments like Accounts, Medicals etc. And from what I heard, support staff do get posted to all commands including border posts. They sometimes serve as domestic aides to the senior officers from the rank of Ara Controller and above. It also appears they are limited in terms of ranking, seems they don't rise beyond level 13 or so. @Jumoke support staff in the NCS are permanent staff, and the news about them been maltreated depends on the nature of the superior officers they function under. I know support staff who made it in the Service because they are in good hands in terms of superiors.

Are u saying ASC II officers on cadre 8 a junior staff because he/she is a support staff. The PRO of apapa command was a support staff and she was also the PRO at the Oyo/Osun command b4 she was transferred to Apapa command

I wonder too oh, how possible it is for an officer of consol 8 be a junior officer when that is the level an officer cadre began their career

Am talking in respect of Assistant Cadre: Customs Assistant (Support Staff) Grade 11 - CONSOL 04. This is a category entered into with SSCE sir. The Assistant Cadre are junior ranking officers comprising of Customs Assistant. Not referring to ASC II officers in this context please.
