Kenya manufacturing may have issues but it still easily the best manufacturing in East n Central Africa.Even in apparel and textile..Ethiopia has long way to get to Kenya..in AGOA Kenya are doing nearly 400m dollars worth of exports while Ethiopia are not in even at 150.Obviously Ethiopia and Rwanda stories are sexed up considering the deep mess they are coming from.I think only South Africa and Egypt are larger in Manufacturing...the magreb are also good but Nigeria is crap outside few Dangote like monopolies.If it wasnt Manu Chandaria won't be dominating their steel and aluminium sectors.In COMESA Kenya is only second to Egypt.When we get Africa Trade soon...Kenya will spread its wings to West and Central Africa.Nigeria will never sign...their federal gov is under Dangote capture..their Dangote underbelly will exposed to competition...the crazy profit margin he makes will disappear.Apart from subsidizing electricity cost Kenya need to pursue more export opportunities within Africa....and try nail agro processing for the developed world.. otherwise we won't be exporting electronics to anybody soon.

You can sing that to the birds. I will never take you seriously, and your Tz. You hyped your SGR too much until you confused Uganda. Now after realizing how much you have wasted them with your sluggish, snailish, tortoise pace they have turned back to the Kenyan route and committed real money this time. Though personally I had a feeling Uganda was co-opting your route to hide their own shortcomings. They knew they had no money to start with, and virtually no institutions would be willing to lend them, and Kenya would really rush them on the project because they knew when Kenya commits to something it is as good as done. So they pretended to be having deeply thought & smarter plans with the Tanzanian route to mask their own weaknesses - knowing of course your slow pace would buy them much needed time and space to breathe and atleast gather a few funds.
