Why can't we compare the two?

Bernardo Silva is 24 and Ìwobi is 23.

You are not getting it. Ìwobi was handed a chance most of our youth players dream of day and night. I bet if dem nketiah, Bukayo Saka are given that kind of opportunity, they will make the best of it and become much more better than them Ramsey.

Iwobi has not lived up to expectation, he switches on and off.

There are so many players played out of position that have gone ahead to excel in their assigned role. Look at united's Valencia in his prime, he was like the best right back in England despite starting out as a number 7. Abeg stop making excuses for Ìwobi.

Ìwobi is not good enough. He doesn't even start most games for Nigeria sef.
Iwobi isn't consistent and shouldn't be leading the line for Arsenal, but he's good enough for a squad player, be can be useful for lower competitions and can make difference off the bench...

I'll say he plays a second fiddle to a new proper AM or LW...

He's shown glimpses he can be very good,he only needs to work on his goal sense and decisions in final 3rd..

Unfortunately,Ozil and mhicky who are supposed to help fine tune his game are worse, only if he grew under managers like Pep,klopp and poch.

If they can all generate 150m they should all fvck off.
Useless waste pipes, I hope ozil join body with them
Also Kolasinac cheesy
.if Xhaka, kola, mhicky and ozil plays here next season, then Emery has set himself for another embarrassing failure.

I have been keeping tabs on Inaki Williams of Atletico Bilbao, he's got pace, power, ruthless, crossings, good finishing and techniques... His buy out clause I read is around €18.. He can CF and flanks..
My laliga fans confirmed he's always a threat against them..

Also Ferlan Mendy of Lyon, dude is hard, mobile like rose, takes players on,always going upanda the pitch and way better than Kola and ageing Nacho..

He's even rated above Benjamin Mendy of city, both shouldn't cost us more than £50....

Also Aubameyang is rumoured to want 300,000, at 30yrs, do we pay him or sell him off?

....Bro, we have already submitted a 50m bid for Anderssen and Praet, both players playing for Sampdoria, that's a CB and a midfielder and we have also up our bid for the Lorient winger, Claude- Maurice from 7m to 13m.

....Good business from out board if you ask me. Apparently, we want to buy before selling. We are also looking at PSG's right back - Meunier too. Raul and his team are dead serious about their plans..

....Auba is a far better striker than Lacazette but if he wants that sort of money which I doubt then he should be sold to China, shaperly grin
... What do you think?
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Roland17(m): 5:56pm On Jun 06, 2019
Rumors of a 2nd bid for Joachim Andersen and Dennis Praet (Sampdoria) heating up.

Andersen is a pretty good defender for those who follow the Serie A closely. Praet, I watched him in the Europa League when he was with Anderlecht and he was decent but that was before his move to Italy which has not been really good, I don't think Praet is a starter, maybe a squad player.

Hopefully, they can wrap up the deal quickly especially with Andersen.

All those players we are linked with, hope they are hard, fast and technical, as I can't cope with lazy and weak football anymore..
.for me we don't need munier, bellerin and Niles will do well, they only need quality wingers in front of them to ease task of going upanda..

If Auba wants to go,I'll sell and get nothing less than£60, I'll replace him with an inaki Williams or Diego jota with carrasco...

In that case, we have a forward 3 of Carrasco, laca and Williams, those 3 can't get lots of goals and assists, instead of relying on one man who misses than he scores..

I urge you to go see that Williams guy, I'm also seeing Diego jota of wolves, these guys will make us stronger..

Also Ferlan Mendy of Lyon, he's like Evra.. I'm sure they will come and make their names just like the kantes, mahrez, mane among many others.

.... Bellerin won't be back till November and even at that, it will take a while for him to return to form and there is tendency that he might not be the same player again. Niles shouldn't even be starting for Arsenal, he should go on loan. The guy loses concentration too much and he is just too lackadaisical in his play. He single handedly destroyed us in the second half of the final. Currently, we have no right back so one is urgently needed.

....We must not sell Auba for any price now, he is the scorer Lacazette will never be. If one of them should go, it should be his other partner except his new wages can't be reasoned with. Age won't count against Auba, as most elite strikers are still top level even in their thirties.

.... Carrasco looks he is coming but no announcement of bids yet from our end although he said in a conference that he is leaving China for another club which might be us or it's agent talk. Maurice is coming and together with Carrasco, we have two wingers already, not mentioning Nelson too. I think that should be enough for the new season. If Xhaka leaves for Inter, we might see another centre back come in or another midfield player.

.... Forget Mendy, if Lyon decides to sell, Madrid will get him. We can't compete with those clubs in terms of money. Apparently, we are looking at Tierney from Celtic and Lyon too are eyeing the young left back in case they sell Mendy. It's very unlikely that we will get a marquee signing this season as we have too many positions to fill in. Saliba from Saint- Etienne is also on the cards, apart from Anderssen. Emery wants to change the entire defense with Kolasinac looking to be sold.

Andersen will prefer AC Milan, praet, menueir and carrasco looking likely to happen. Saint Etienne wants saliba back on loan arsenal no gree. Why are we delaying to sell xhaka and kola na about 55m must not be delayed o

....I don't think it's Anderssen preferring Milan, report is out saying that the Club's president is delaying the sale because he wants a coach in the club first before authorizing any sale. Same thing that happened with Torreira when he said he would be joining after the world cup.

....I think we should sign a contract with Saint- Etienne requesting the player's services once we are in need of him, thereby terminating the loan. That guy is too good for us to let him go.....

....Inter Milan is yet to place any bid for Xhaka. Fingers crossed, let's see what happens though.

I heard bould has been demoted to u21 while lyunberg will take his place, it's a good development that man has been useless for everything he even snitch on wengay when all his management left he stayed angry

I've seen videos of those guys linked with us and I'm not that impressed..

Anderson.. Looks like Holding, and we don't need similar player, dude scores headers and passes the ball well, not convincing enough, Saliva is better..

Praet...looks like Ramsey, with little goals and assist, fine player but nothing exciting about him..

Maurice will be bullied in England, he's so like Nelson, doubt he will be an instant hit..

I'll rather splash money on Ferland Mendy,Inaki Williams, carrasco and Saliba..

I'm a fan of Fabian delph, take away his injuries, he will really improve us.

.....Lmao...this guy grin

..... Like I said before, the club has a vision now and they are pursuing it vigorously. Lyunberg will bring in top talents from the academy and help to merge them with the big boys. It's very important for our philosophy to work. Bould will return to the youth team where he was hugely successful before moving up. It's a win - win for everybody.

.....Some of the fans here have refused to believe that we are no longer a top 4 club and our current squad is Europa League level at best until we do a major overhaul. We are losing revenues the more we stay out of Champions League. Tottenham made over 100m for getting to the final and we made less than 25% of that going to the Europa final. The difference is simply huge and this same team can sell about 4 quality players in their team that will bring them about 200m should they decide to sell. The same cannot be said of us.

....We can't afford huge fees for players because we don't have the money and there are just too many positions to be filled. Get these players, since they are young. If it works out, all good. If it doesn't, we can still sell for a good fee because of their age. Besides, using YouTube to judge players can be misleading. Xhaka looked like Alonso when we did that before arriving here but now we know that similarity is not true. Getting to the champions league is the goal and getting a defender who was second to one of the best midfielders in the seria a last season in terms of completion of long balls forward is a very good start.

Williams could be priced around £45, with player sales upfront, he's a threat upfront far more than ozil and mhicky combined..

I don't know the job of our scouts and transfer crew, we should have gotten Mendy since, before he started gathering attention..

Well, players of thier caliber should be brought in or we are set for a failed season again.

We are simply unambitious and we won't achieve anything big nor give fans the joy we want, Liverpool without champions league football were able to sign quality players who lifted them to UCL football and EPL challenging team ..

Utd signed pogba, mhicky, lukaku from Europa spot, they may have failed, but they showed ambition..

Our scouting team are trash, Even with our sma budget, we can get quality players from midtable teams in England and across Europe, that's how Liverpool rose.

Kolasinac,Elneny, mhicky and ozil can be replaced easily with player sales and our budget..

Next summer, we should have qualified for ucl football, thats more money,so we clear another 3, we replace them with emerging quality players, klopp didn't do it in one window...

Also the players shouldn't be just any new face but be accompanied with Energy, pace, techniques and mental ruggedness.

When are you going to wake up and realize that Arsenal does not have the financial clout of Liverpool or Manchester United? This has nothing to do with ambition or hunger. Those clubs can afford to buy those players and fail to meet the identified goal and still go on and compete for more players of the same cadre the following season, we can’t.

You need to learn more about the economics of running a club, it is not as easy as you think it is especially if you want to keep club profitable and alive. Selling players alone does not necessarily mean the funds are available for buying.

Abeg wake up and smell the roses. We are going to buy players, 1 or 2 and that is where the scouts come in like you alluded to but please stop comparing our financial strength to United, Liverpool or any of the top 4 teams. Maybe except Spurs who did not spend a dime last summer transfer because of one reason, finances!

Maybe I need to be educated more,as I can't come to terms with some of the following facts..
Arsenal being recently ranked 5th richest club in the world..
Kroenke Worthing billions and And invested grand sum of £O in the club..
They made Emery understand our philosophy is to build youngsters and spot talents he can buy with not so much money..

I can understand utd,but Liverpool didn't spend much in klopp's first year, they got mane and winaldum, then sallah and oxlade, used money from coutinho and UCL final to bring in V dijk,Alison and fabinho..

We are in crisis,it is feared Newcastle,Everton Leicester and wolves will rival us..
The problem is we do not have footballing people at the helm of affairs of the club...

We aren't saying Arsenal should spend like city, but a transfer budget of £70M with player sales of about £70M can fix things..

If fans are thinking the club can't afford that, then we shouldn't complain and accept we are a mid table team.

....Just to add to what Roland17 has posted:
....Like I said we are not a big club anymore at least amongst the top four in the premier league. We haven't won the league in over a decade; we just qualifed for our second European final in thirteen years. Compare that to our rivals except for Tottenham and see that we cannot compete at all. Chelsea, Man United and City and even Liverpool can buy players at will and even it doesn't work out, they can still sell at good prices. Look at Liverpool and how they sell players. Take Solanke for example, who was sold for a ridiculous price but if it were to be us, he would have gone for nothing less than 7 or 8m. For Chamberlain of all people to be our record sale just shows you how terrible we are at selling.

....The Owner doesn't put in any money and yet the old board buy players who go for huge losses or sometimes for free and you wonder why we can't spend like the rest of the big teams. If you are the owner of a club like ours, honest to God, will you continue to put in money through KSE and see little or no investment in return. We bought Perez for 17m and sold him for 4m. Wilshere was a loss, Ramsey went for free, Welbeck went for free, Coquelin and Gabriel were little profits in investment, same with Sanchez. These are players that if were sold at the right time and money invested properly would have significantly improved the squad.

....So, we make losses off investments, we do not have the revenue generating strength of our rivals and we have also failed to win major trophies for years and finally, have failed to qualify for the champions league for years now and you honestly expect us to buy players of over 50m to replace more than six to seven positions in order for us to compete. Where would that money come from when our best players are worth 160 - 170m max? I am referring to Xhaka, Laca and Auba and obviously, we can't sell all three. The rest of the squad save for Bellerin won't bring up to 80m if all starting eleven are sold because of their huge wages. It's hard to accept but right now, regardless of listings on whatever sites, we are no where near Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and especially Man city. They are leagues ahead of us in revenue and brand. Forget the fact we are owned by a billionaire, that isn't worth anything.

@Fkhalifa

Please read @solomonbrown64's post, he understands the reality and current situation of AFC.

When it comes to global brand marketing, we are only emerging in comparison to Liverpool and Chelsea, we are definitely ahead of Spuds, City and Chelsea. Manchester United have a very strong marketing presence in the United States and Asia and this accounts for strong marketing numbers that bring revenues. United have the lion share of these markets and these markets are the biggest for football. Any wonder why teams from Italy, Spain, Germany, and France run to the US during the summer? United have lower recurring capital expenses and have been able to build a very strong credit rating in comparison to Arsenal.

Liverpool has a very strong marketing presence in Asia and while they may not be as dominant as United, they have a good presence in the United States.

Arsenal does not have a strong marketing presence in the United States and that is why we rarely tour the US. We are looking to penetrate the US market and gain some share of the spoil with the summer tour this year. Our strongest marketing presence is in Asia and it is nothing compared to Liverpool and Manchester United. Selling players or having a billionaire does not equate being able to compete in the transfer market. The American billionaire has other business interests especially in the US that generate more money for him than Arsenal and the US is a more capitalist economy (profit oriented because of millions in tax breaks) in comparison to a socialist economy like the UK.

Over the last decade, we have change jersey sponsors 3 times. We have gone from Nike to Puma and now Adidas, do you know why? The club is doing its best to look for the best sponsorship deals that would continue to support the team and not have to rely on the owners. Football is a very expansive business. Something that has been lost in Arsenal over the last decade has been the inability of the academy to produce and sell. In the past, our academy produced good players who were sold for good sums if they don't make the first team.

@Fkhalifa

I appreciate your analysis, I think we have to come to agree we are no longer football giants. So sad!

....Just to add to what Roland17 has posted:
....Like I said we are not a big club anymore at least amongst the top four in the premier league.

I appreciate your input, the people who scouted xhaka, mustafi and our flops should be jailed,Those lads couldn't get us to the heights that could have generates revenue, Also those sorting our contract matters who allowed our players go for free are to be sacked asap, we could have gotten £60m for Sanchez, wilshere, welbeck, carzola,Ramsey all for free is a joke..

Well,I've given up on this club,we are now competing with Newcastle, wolves and Leicester..

Goodluck to those who have believe and hope in this club.

Baba, it is the sad reality of going trophyless for such a long time and now 2 seasons out of the UCL, those things add up. We just have to be real with our expectations, especially in the market. We need to shed and hope our scouts can attract players who are passionate about the team, sign them quickly before others pounce.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!! The scouts or whoever sanctioned them failed woefully for such high investments, now we have to shed them as quick as we can.

Our scouts will let us down for sure, how did Leicester see Mahrez and kante, spurs >> Son,Eriksson,Wanyama and Moura..
The players linked with us aren't convincing enough, though we can't compete for big names, but can't they spot talented and energetic players like inaki Williams and Mendy before media exposed them..

Our rivals will pounce on them and we will be in regret again.

Kante, Mahrez were big steals for Leceister, whoever scouted them deserves an award. Same can be said about Son and Moura. Wanyama was heavily scouted by other teams, so was Eriksson but I agree with you. The fact that you already know and speak about these players online only means scouts of other teams also know and are watching them including scouts of the big teams.

Emery's style/ tactics require players with elevated energy and stamina and we don't have them in our current team and that is why I pity Emery sometimes.
