Rangers, Southampton, Aston villa and few championship clubs are keen on having him. His contract with Charlton expires at the end of the month

Simon is Winger, some Arguments ain't worth it to be honest. It's a fantasy expecting Simon to thrive as an AM or a SS. He's better off as a Winger.

The best we've got now is Iwobi. Mikel ain't mobile as he was when he came into limelight, thus we've got to rely on Iwobi as a creative Player in the Squad.

Sometimes the quality of a player is not appreciated until he is playing with quality players around him.

It can also work vice versa l noticed that Mikel did not have overriding dominance in playing for Middlesbrough.

I have often wondered if you put Eze or Tega Onomah in the Arsenal team how well they would do. Or imagine Iwobi playing in QPR and Sheffield Wednesday how well would he do.

A call up for Eze and a Tega is over due maybe throw Ademola in the mix too.

Rohr has confirmed that one striker will be dropped. The other player could be a defender.

Super Eagles 3-5-2 Formation : Rohr Planning To Deploy Kalu, Simon As Wing-Backs In 2019 AFCON

Super Eagles 3-5-2 Formation : Rohr Planning To Deploy Kalu, Simon As Wing-Backs In 2019 AFCON
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has hinted that Levante's Moses Simon and Bordeaux's Samuel Kalu will be deployed as left and right wing-backs respectively at the Africa Cup of Nations, if he goes with a 3-5-2 formation.

Simon was regularly deployed as a wing-back last season by Levante coach Paco López and Kalu was used as a makeshift right wing-back in the Super Eagles 1-1 draw against South Africa last November.

''We have them (strikers) but we have to drop one of them. Don't forget that we have wingers who can play as fullbacks like we did against South Africa with Kalu who was on the right side, right fullback and a winger the same time,'' Rohr said at Thursday's press conference attended by allnigeriasoccer.com.

''When we play 3-5-2 like we did against Iceland at the World Cup or we did in South Africa, there's also a possibility for Simon Moses to play like he did in his club, on the left side, so we have full backs which is also very good to know tactically.

''And then we have three strikers, Ighalo the goalscorer, we have Osimhen who did well with his club and is one for the future and we have one tall one.

''It is good for me but it is sometimes difficult for me to choose players. But I'm happy to have this good quality, so let's go with offensive spirit to the AFCON because we want to win our games.''

Apart from Kalu and Simon, the other wingers named to Nigeria's provisional roster are Ahmed Musa, Henry Onyekuru, Samuel Chukwueze and the versatile Arsenal star Alex Iwobi.

'...and one tall one' ... lolz Rohr is such a savage. I think with the above article, kelechi and Shehu supposed to be dropped positional -wise. Kalu and Simon are the first choice WBs... Collins and Aina will be the deputies. ... since Rohr no mention kelechi as striker, him case don close be dat abi? Anyway, what do I know?

balogun is different he has arguably been the best defender in the super Eagles since Rohr took over in our last match against Egypt he was good on the other hand k c has been poor for club and country

He had his moments that you guys are voluntarily forgetting about. Ighalo saved him against Libya in Tunisia because that was a school boy error on the second goal.

Let me digress from the Eagles for a bit and wish good luck to our Super Falcons tomorrow as they square off w/ the Norwegians.

Hopefully the copious amounts of preparation that they underwent will pay off.

I wish them goodluck equally. Our expectations aren't high yet we pray they surpass it and surprise us. All the best to them certainly.

Manchester City to let academy prospect Tom Dele-Bashiru leave on a free after failing to agree on a new deal

By Jack Gaughan for MailOnline

Tom Dele-Bashiru is free to leave Manchester City after failing to agree a new contract.

The 19-year-old is in the final six months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and able to talk to foreign clubs over a move.

Serie A side Atalanta are interested in Dele-Bashiru, who has made just one first-team appearance under Pep Guardiola.

Tom Dele-Bashiru is free to leave Manchester City after failing to agree a new contract

That came away at Leicester City in last season's Carabao Cup and the midfielder has played for the Under 21s in this year's Checkatrade Trophy.

City were not able to match the sort of financial package Dele-Bashiru had been hoping for and will depart the club he joined at the age of six.

Guardiola's staff do not see a long-term future for the academy product, while City also had difficulties when offering him a professional contract.

The player's father, Bandele, blasted the club back in 2016. 'Discussions have broken down with Manchester City and I know other clubs are interested in Tom,' he said at the time.

'We always wanted to give Manchester City first option on keeping Tom, but we are now willing to talk to other clubs.

'We opened discussions over his professional contract but we did not accept the offer as we were not happy with the offer and unfortunately then they came back with a lower offer.

'We are not happy with the way Tom has been treated in all this and I think it is disgusting. Tom has shown he is one the best in his age group in the country and if Manchester City do not value him we are happy to go elsewhere.'

Kenneth Omeruo made one mistake against South Africa but did people free him? What has Leon won for the national team that would make him untouchable?

See if to say balogun na pure black dem no go talk all this one ,Nigerians sabi asslick anything oyinbo ,if any oyinbo player make mistake the player will be forgiven immediately but if na black na wahala for here

I remember before World Cup how people castigated musa due to less playing time at Leicester before he went to save his self in Cska Moscow ,I am also among the people that castigated musa self ,how many bad games has musa had for the eagles ? Very few

Now their excuse is that balogun is good for eagles ,I have no issue with balogun ,but if dem drop awaziem e go pain me .
