Permit me to air my views and express my fears about the recent invasion and operation of Fulani herdsmen in our (Yoruba) territory.

Fear has gripped many people when it comes to traveling on some roads in Yoruba land. Worst hit areas are actually in Osun State, thanks to Aregbesola who has sent a wrong signal to Islamic fundamentalists that Osun is a home for them.

Apparently, we Yorubas lack "awon agba" (elders) or do I say they do not speak with a voice. We see the friends (Tinubus) of our enemies (Buharis) as friends and the enemies (Obasanjos, fani Kayodes, Yinka Odumakins etc) of our enemies (Buharis) as enemies.

God bless the late Ooni Sijuwade. He was one traditional ruler that could summon all Yoruba opinion leaders to "Ile O'odua" whenever our common interest was to be discussed or we needed to chart a new cause for Yoruba nation.

The current Arole O'odua needs to sit up and live to that title. Orile ede O'odua is being threatened and O'odua sons and daughters now live in fear and apprehension on their own soil. Ooni Ogunwusi should kindly renounce the throne if he can't live up to his responsibility. APC Government may have facilitated his enthronement, he should however know that his allegiance is to O'odua nation.


Yoruba elders should also watch out for that lunatic of an Oba in Iwo land. His type will always be a Judas amidst us. Elders should not take his self pronouncement as Emir as an empty threat. A Yahoo boy will definitely betray anyone for money, especially when there's no "maga" to swindle again. He's already been identified as a fault line in our midst.

Finally, we Yorubas irrespective of our Creed or faith should speak with one voice to stop the invasion of our land. The battle we fail to fight/win today may be a battle that's lost forever. Ilorin is still very fresh in our minds. Regrettably, Ilorin is forever lost.
