AFCON 2019: Rohr names best three Nigerian goalkeepers Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has named the trio of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi and Francis Uzoho, as the best goalkeepers Nigeria has at the moment. Rohr was asked why he keeps picking them, even though they have all struggled at club level at various points, during the just concluded season. The German defended the keepers, by saying his scouts have run the rule on several options and certified the trio as the best bet for the team now. Although Fortuna Dusseldorf youth team goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, caught their eyes, he was not included because he is presently injured. “We have the three best goalkeepers for Nigeria now with us. “My scouts have watched the others goalkeepers and these three are still the best we have for now. “We found one in Germany who plays for Fortuna Dusseldorf but he is injured so we couldn’t call him up,” Rohr told reporters in Asaba. He however refused to reveal which of the three, will start for Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. https://dailypost.ng/2019/06/08/afcon-2019-rohr-names-best-three-nigerian-goalkeepers/amp/ |
