It's because those are highly priced commodities in the global and African markets. Countries like Egypt, Pakistan and Sudan drink Kenyan tea all day. But in our country Tanzania we produce low value crops like maize beans and sisal. Those don't fetch much and the returns are too low for our farmers. We are even involved in flower business but everything is shipped out in Kenya because we are not connected with the outside world.
