TSRC: Well, you are so correct, as a US citizen, let me educate some of these so called rich people who run to the US to have babies get the so called US citizenship for their kids..the US is not stupid giving out citizenship by birth, it's just another way to put the name of these US born foreign babies as a collateral for America's current and future external debt. 1. That child, for him or her to enjoy the full benefits of citizenship, has a part of the US external debt pegged to his name and head forever. 2. That child can be conscripted into the US army at any time there is war anywhere in the world. It's easier to jump from a 5 storey building and not get hurt than to dodge a draft 3. The child living in Nigeria makes him or her ineligible for earned child tax credit's and benefits. There is no social security benefit center in Nigeria. You have to reside in the UK or other key European countries as a US citizen by birth living outside the US to enjoy these social benefits 3. If your so called US citizen child living in Nigeria fail to register for essential services between ages of 16 -26 and actually partake in it in the US as the law demands, (which means the child has to live in the US) he or she can't even get educational benefits like Pell Grant or student loans. 4. If your child lives with you in Nigerian growing up but you just want to be flashing the blue passport to intimidate your friends and family that your child is yankee, that child won't have the American accent while in Nigeria, so it's same with any other person who was born in Nigeria and later traveled to the US and then naturalized. All of una dey speak kokoyam English together, so what's the difference? 5. That child will pay taxes until he dies to the US government, even if lives and works in Nigeria. If he doesn't, whenever he comes to the US, he could be arrested, prosecuted and jailed in the US for tax evasion. That's why here in the US, we have a saying that there are 2 things sure in life, "Death and Taxes" 6. As a US citizen, that child cannot come and shop in the US and not pay sales taxes like regular visitors who get their sales taxes given back to them at the airport when leaving. He or she must pay the taxes. 7. That child in future will not be treated with kid gloves if he comes to America trying to launder his parents ill-gotten wealth.Foreigners have been known to be fined maybe 10% of the total amount of the money they bring in to the US ignorantly and asked to leave or repatriated at the airport without much qualms. But as a US citizen, you will spend at least 10 years in jail for such crime. 8. All the lie lie that you get away with in Nigeria because of the lack of centralized database is over the moment your child becomes a citizen. Your data will be required to be fed into the US system and that is not good news for those politicians and yahoo yahoo guys who encounter ill-gotten miracle money without any legitimate source. 9. The very thing you thought will make u head above shoulders better than your fellow dubious friends may actually put u in the spotlight once your child becomes a US citizen by birth, EXCEPT you do not intend to benefit anything from your child being an American. Here in the US, there are tons of paperwork trying to know " WHO and WHAT" you are, so they can have your profile in case of anything. So if you are dubious, stay away from birth right citizenship for your foreign kids. 10. Lying to the authorities here Even For minor Police Interrogation Can Carry Jail Time ....Nigerians lie like crazy, I never see. So, that your child that grew up in naija with US passport, not groomed here in the culture of America will surely be a misfit later, (forget all that rap that he will learn American ways by watching movies on Netflix, it's like you want to learn about naija watching Nollywood) - he or she may end up not even staying here because they can't cope. Most people who cope with the system are those who come here poor or needy and want to be part of the system, so they integrate quickly, but those privileged spoilt kids most likely will see it as hardship and they will just run back to their papa mansion in Naija. Lastly, one of the benefits of being an American is the credit system that allows you to get things easily and pay later bit by bit. How can your child benefit from that when he or she doesn't live here? And IF you didn't go to school here, if you like bring 7 PhD certificates from UK, Nigeria or even Canada, you will be treated like you have "High School" or WAEC/SSCE here. So all those you Covenant University, or American University in Nigeria or Igbinedion University degrees are like tissue paper here, EXCEPT you use the transcripts to apply for a University Programme, apply and pass the SAT/GRE/GMAT - do a degree here, the US will not accept you are a graduate. So what's the point hussling to give birth here? If you are really well to do, your child can travel to the US or anywhere in the world easily anytime and be cool. People like Ote$, Dangote, Elumelu, Arthur Eze, Mai Deribe, to mention a few don't give an F about birth tourism for their kids..... lol 9 Likes 1 Share |
