Hey Guys! Happy weekend to y’ll I noticed a whole lots of visa applicants I’ve come acrossed prefers Lagos embassy to Abuja embassy. Here is my question: Could it be as a result of easy access due to their respective locations or Lagos embassy COs are more lenient while Abuja COs drills a lot . I live in Abuja and my house is just twenty minutes drive to the embassy (Traffic free except for the traffic lights) and I’m hoping to have my interview by God grace at the Abuja embassy. I’d be glad to have you guys take on this. God’s Blessings Always! |

Dutchleez: K1 applicants do have their interviews at Lagos. If you live in Abuja and your petition is K1. You are having your interview in Lagos. 1 Like |

Drenimarcus: Oh really? It would have been great if Abuja embassy attends to K1 applicants. That way, congestion would be averted. Thanks for the reply anyways! |

@Teefortee, thanks for your kind words. And yes o, the name is changed lol. For your medicals, you are to go with your International passport, interview confirmation printout, letter from NVC that shows your case number, small sized passport photo. Most medicals don't require an appointment. A simple walk in is okay. You might need to call in advance to be sure of the exact passport photo dimension. Blood samples and urine samples will be taken. Also you'll be given some immunisation shots. Other tests that will be done are eye vision test, blood pressure measurement, height, weight, etc. You'll also see a doctor at the end. He will take your medical history and do some medical examination. By and large, its usually a routine without much issue. However if the person has an infectious disease, then that disease has to be treated first before they can forward your report to the embassy. I posted my experience when I went for my medical assessment. See link here: https://www.nairaland.com/4800968/usa-fiancee-k1-visa-thread/7#73999234 The number of B1/B2 visa rejections has no effect in your K1 visa application. All they want to know is if your relationship is genuine. Once you guys have evidence to show that then you are good. I wish you guys the very best. 4 Likes |

Please is there any fee for divorce decree verification? I have read the steps for K-1 Visa and didn't see anything like that but someone told me there is a fee because they usually verify divorce decree. Also since the interview holds in Lagos only, can the medicals be done in Abuja when the time comes and then the interview in Lagos? |

Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by LegitBachelor: 12:56pm On Jun 10, 2019 |
sandraigho:I don't understand your question. Are you concerned that they will find out you had sex with your fiance? They have no business on your sex life. Your sex life business is between you and God. You won't be denied because of being pregnant. Or Is your question about the fate of your unborn child? You won't be denied visa if you are pregnant. They may however ask question on where you intend giving birth and they will need evidence to show that both you and your fiance is ready and able to pay fully for the delivery of your child in the United States. Provision of such evidence might be difficult but once it's done then you are good. If not, they will delay your visa till after your delivery and will also advise you do K2 for the child. Personally I will advice you wait till after delivery before you go for your medicals as you will have to do X-ray which is not safe for the baby. |

Please which one is this DS 3025. I downloaded a DS-2054 with the K1 packet. Will it be given me after the medicals? Thanks |
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by LegitBachelor: 3:04pm On Jun 10, 2019 |
saintrise:DS 3025 is called Vaccination Documentation Worksheet. It is filled by the Physician and included in your sealed medical report which is not to be opened until you get to the embassy. You'll however also get a photocopy of the DS 3025 as a personal copy. Keep that document as you will need it when you want to apply for greencard. 1 Like |

Esorae85:Yes there is but I don't think it's that expensive. It's used to be in the range of N1000 in 2017. Perhaps it should be around N5000 or less at present. It is done by the High Courts and is sent directly to the embassy. You'll be given a receipt after payment. A copy of the receipt and divorce decree is to be submitted by you to the embassy. I'm told this divorce decree verification can only be done if the US Embassy gives you a go ahead to do it. But you may go to the High Court Registry to inquire further. And yes the medicals can be done in Abuja. Someone has already addressed this on this thread. You need to read from the beginning to see discussions on this. Beautyaddy:@nextlevel2222, In addition to the entry stamp you can also get an i94 printout from this site: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/ Click on "Get Most Recent i94" For the other documents needed to get your SSN you can see my previous post on it (https://www.nairaland.com/4800968/usa-fiancee-k1-visa-thread/22#77395643) 1 Like |

Enasdan: Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 Slightly faster arrival in the US (currently about 5 months sooner) More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. CR-1 Slightly slower arrival in the US (currently about 5 months later) Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US. 6 Likes |
