Earthquake2: I've been following the Team quite a while, they are actually U15. They played some friendly Matches with local Teams before leaving for the invitational Tourney. I think they won the last friendly by 8 - 2 against an Academy. I guess NFF tagged them U16 because they are partaking in the U16 Tournament. 1 Like

Sassuolo after Spezia's Okereke 2019-06-11T00:55:13Z 01:55 Sassuolo are close to signing Spezia's David Okereke, accordin to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Nigerian forward scored 10 goals while providing 12 assists in Serie B this season. He may not be the only Spezia player to move this summer as Tommaso Augello has been linked with Sampdoria. 3 Likes |

Argentina lost 11-0 to Germany in 2007, but today are rubbing shoulders with the very best. The falcons need to improve drastically and stop reveling in their dominance of the African continent 3 Likes |

Unpopular/sexist opinion here: I strongly think that IFAB should reduce the dimensions of the soccer pitch and the goal posts for women’s football. This is because 95% of the female players look like little kids on the pitch, and full backs can barely run the width of the pitch without gassing out. Also, due to the fact that the average height of the goalies is 5’7” - 5’8”, it won’t be out of place for the height and length of the goalposts to be reduced by, say, 1ft., 1 Like |

I hope Iheanacho will find a team that will play him as a 10 or 8. He is never a striker. He has a Seedorf-like stature. He can never be a good 9. 1 Like |

Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi has leapt to the defence of Kelechi Iheanacho who has been heavily criticized for his unimpressive performances for club and country. Iheanacho was one of the two players axed from the Super Eagles traveling party to Egypt for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and Awoniyi believes his former Golden Eaglets teammate was not given enough time to prove himself. While Awoniyi netted four goals in the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup, Iheanacho was the competition's Most Valuable Player and he thinks the Taye Academy product is now being played out of position by club and national team coaches. ''For me, Iheanacho was pushed to play as a center forward because of his goal-rate and how confident he is in scoring goals,'' said Awoniyi. ''I have played with him a lot of times, when I play with him he's best played as a number ten, behind the striker. This is where he played when we played together, all of a sudden he became a center forward and it has to do with what they discovered in him in Manchester City and Leicester City. ''When he was at Manchester City before he was moved to a number nine, he played the same position and he did great things for the team.'' Awoniyi added : ''When the whites discover something special in you in terms of goalscoring, they will find a way to push you. ''The coach is the best person to know where he fits in, but I cannot give an advice where he should play. ''When he played as a number ten with me in the national team, he did a great job and also a number nine, so it depends on what the coach thinks.'' On Iheanacho's goalscoring troubles, Awoniyi said : ''In Leicester City they are not giving him game time, if a player is not playing there is no way you can get the best out of him, there is no way he can score goals when he doesn't play. ''It has to do with the team not giving him a chance to prove himself. I believe he is one of the great talents in the country, there is no doubt about that''. Iheanacho netted 2 goals in 35 appearances for Leicester City last season, and has not scored for the national team since he found the net in the memorable 4-2 win vs Argentina in a pre-World Cup friendly in November 2017. 2 Likes |

let's discuss afcon... In context of Africa, and the African nations cup, this Nigerian super eagles Team is the most solid side going to this nation cup in my opinion.. Quality almost all around , many people forget that ndidi did not even play Saturday's game... That this Nigerian team would not make it to the finals, might just be a case of pure misfortune.. I tip Nigeria to win the afcon, I predict a final of Nigeria Vs morroco Facts... This genort rorh super eagles has lost only two games to any african team.. Loss against South Africa and Algeria (board room loss, it was actually a draw).. 3 Likes |

from an attacking and defensive stand point this is one of the strongest squads we have ever taken to an AFCON midfield though light and lacking depth is well balanced. it's just the goalkeeping department that spoilt everything. rohr has good tools to work with so he has no excuse not to bring his tactical A game. we are not outright favourites (like everybody has said senegal morocco and egypt are the ones) but we have a fighting chance Dannyxy: 1 Like |
