ifyalways: LOL, afrophobia my arse . 1.Check out every case of human trafficking in south Africa; check the people jailed and imprisoned for this kind of crime and see if Nigerians will not make up over 90% of those cases. Please call on all nairaland e-warririors to come and attack me if you find this to be a lie. 2. Check out drug arrests in South African cities and check again if Nigerians do not appear in those cases more often than not . I'm not saying there is no other drug dealers in south Africa ( which include South Africans themselves ), but we are attacking the " afrophobia" excuse here, so check specifically your people's involvement . We hear every time a thread like this makes it to first page how other nationalities are also into drug dealing ; "Pakistanis too do it" , " Ethiopians too do it" , " tanzanians "etc . Why then is everyone including those nationalities pointing the finger at you?. Afrophobia? . By the way , I'm not saying they do not do it , but I'm just wondering why you are specifically pointed by not only South Africans but by fellow migrants as well , and not only in SA but all over Africa and the world . Are you guys their errand boys ?. That would be a good explanation because you are the ones constantly arrested in street corners and dirty flats. 3. Fraud . Please check the arrests in fraudulent activities and see if you will not make a good number of the culprits . This again is not only in SA , check Ghana , Kenya, Malaysia etc. The point here was that you cannot conveniently hide behind terms like " xenophobia " and Afrophobia when you are singled out for crimes you are known for all over the world. We have many Africans in South Africa, I have never heard of any nationality besides yours that has featured so much in those crimes except Nigeria. Please inform me if you know any , and with evidence. And please do ask me for evidence to my accusations if you feel I'm being unnecessarily " xenophobic or Afrophobic" against your people. 4. I know the following point is also usually used to hide your shenanigans as well lol; But other foreigners are victims too. Looting of spaza shops operated by foreigners . And no, it is mostly a lie spread by you amongst yourselves that it's only businesses owned by African immigrants that get looted . What about Pakistanis , people from Bangladesh , Chinese etc?. What would you call this one Asiaphobia? Lol. The truth is that when you go and open your "business " in an area populated by poor people , some who are used to hiding behind protests to vandalise and loot , no matter where you are from you will be affected that includes South African small shop owners . This is a big problem for everyone not just foreigners , but the locals and the Asian immigrants don't have the luxury of crying afrophobia or anything like that. These are mostly criminal cases . Are there no criminals that specifically target foreigners?. Ofcourse there are , and that's mainly because foreigners are easy targets for criminals , especially illegal immigrants who cannot even report to the police station . Although I think criminals are evil, o also blame immigrants for not doing any research about the kind of communities they are going into. "Zimbabweans, malawians and Mozambicans are get attacked for jobs ". This is another issue that does not specifically mean afrophobia , it has more to do with poverty and education . Most people from these countries; whether skilled or unskilled are forced by circumstances to do security jobs , cleaning , gardening etc . These are jobs meant for the poorest and the under skilled . The minimun wage in south Africa is R3200 if I'm not mistaken, and you can pay these immigrants R800 for this job and they will even work 18 hours if you want ( slavery). Now what citizen will ever work under these conditions?. Now the exploiter fires this uneducated citizen who was getting the minimum wage and hires the immigrant who is illegal and will never complain even when repeatedly sexually assaulted. This immigrant can't afford any decent accommodation with that " salary " So he or she will move to a squatter camp amongst the people that are left jobless " because of him or her " , this causes a lot of resentment. These people were not fired because laziness but because they want better pay and better lives for their children. The attackers are wrong obviously for attacking the immigrants, but this is how uneducated people behave all over the world, they usually channel their anger at the weaker " culprits " in their midst . Look at the xenophobic attacks in the UK, the people who were mostly affected were eastern European migrants , who make up a huge number of cheap labourers over there, same way the SADC cheap labour is a problem in SA. Europhobia ?lol. 5. Why are white foreigners not attacked? Why are they called tourists? This is one of the dumbest questions I have seen some of you asking on this forum. And I'm specifically addressing you because I saw your o Post on a different thread talking about this issue. A).Lol, there are no Europeans competing with local under- skilled workers for jobs . B). Most Europeans coming into the country , live in semi- suburbs , surburbs or wealthy neighbourhoods , they hardly interact with any poor people. C). European criminals don't constitute a nuisance , they are into white collar crimes . Those who are into drugs and prostitution , they mainly employ you or local criminals to do their dirty job . Meaning when one of their brothels or drug den is discovered by the local community affected, the people found there will be the ones to suffer the wrath of the angry mob not them . Moral of the story ; people usually attack the culprits infront of them not the big fish. Look at your own jungle justice, you burn criminals alive who rob people of cell phones but how many of you actually go and burn the people who buy these cell phones ? . Anywho, I hope you will be the first one to give me an answer to my following question. Why are nigerian / African professionals not attacked? Are they not Africans living in south Africa and among the same black South Africans?. Who is consuming the drugs ?. South Africans, immigrants and that includes Nigerians, and all these people end up committing violent crimes . Trump has singled out Mexican immigrants for drug peddling , that doesn't mean he doesn't know his own people are guilty too , but first get rid of the foreign scum who will cry racism or xenophobia when caught. 17 Likes 1 Share |

I always say Nigerian People are the problem of Nigeria. A black South African is calling for Possible xenophobic attack against NIGERIANs and you turn this thread to IGBO bashing!! I’m in South Africa now for 4 years let me break it down to You If 200 Nigerians are in SA 100 ARe IGBO’s the rest are Yourba n minority Out of the 100 IGBOs 20 are into drugs, the ones you blame for prostitution is because igbos own 80% of the clubs/Tarven in SA si normally South African girls love to chop life, the rest are in legit businesses buying and selling like myself Out of the 100 Yoruba 10 are tailors, mechanic and other menial jobs while the 90 is into internet fraud! Fking underage girls Truth be told the South African police lives bribe and drug is not a big deal here once you can settle them once in a while. The hate on Nigerians is mostly because of fraud by majorly Benin/Niger Delta/Yoruba boys who love to show off buy latest car buy big house no legitimate source of income! It pains South Africans that they go to work 9-5 and still can’t ball like these Nigerians and their girls love money and these Nigerians love to give them money. Why won’t they hate you?? Listen I’m tired of you people blaming IGBO I’m SA I’m on ground to know that South Africans love igbos because they say no one forces you to buy drugs, the problem is Scam!!! Scam If the South African police wan make drugs end today today bro e go end. The know these guys and even the locals and some Asians are in the big money 8 Likes 2 Shares |

ILoveToFuCcK: Not particularly bothered either way, but... First, Ghana did NOT deport 700K Nigerians (Nigerian formal investment in the Ghanaian economy runs into hundreds of millions of US dollars), and while Cameroon forcefully returned some refugees from the Boko Haram insurgency, almost 40K Southern Cameroonian are presently living in refuge in Nigeria. South Africans nonetheless have to realize that almost every working Nigerian household/family made PERSONAL sacrifices for their liberation. Every Nigerian worker in our parents generation had to cough up at least 2.5% of their gross wages towards the Southern African Relief Fund (that catered for South African, Zimbabwean and Namibian refugees). Nigeria inflicted significant economic harm on itself by refusing to do business with companies and countries that supported the apartheid South African regime, culminating in the expulsion of and nationalization (albeit with compensation) of the Nigerian subsidiaries and trading assets of Barclays Bank (became Union Bank), Standard Bank (became First Bank), BP (became AP or African Petroleum and presently Forte Oil), and Esso (became Eagle Petroleum, and presently Conoil). We ceded lucrative markets by refusing to sell our highly sought-after light crude oil to many Western countries (while donating free oil supplies to the five “Frontline States” bordering South Africa), and even denied Coca-Cola an operational and manufacturing license in Nigeria (leaving them to continue to rely on the Hellenic Bottling Company to franchise Coca-Cola products in Nigeria, through their subsidiary Nigerian Bottling Company). Additionally, Nigeria provided FREE university and tertiary education for scores of South Africans and financed scholarships for many others. Nigeria also deployed considerable financial and other resources towards the campaign against apartheid across the world, culminating in Nigeria effectively assuming effective permanent control of the UN’s (standing) Special Committee Against Apartheid at the UN headquarters in New York City (initially set up in 1962), as from the 1970s onward with each Nigerian Permanent Representative virtually automatically anointed as the Chairperson of the Special Committee (except for a year or two in the mid-1970s, apparently following Gowon’s overthrow) until it’s disbandment in 1994 after the demise of apartheid and following free elections in South Africa. It’s a shame that history is such a non-valued subject/commodity in much of Africa, because the Nigeria-South African roots run much DEEPER AND LONGER than the present generation appreciates. There’s a reason that, even during our GRANDPARENTS’ generation, Nigeria was the very FIRST place that Nelson Mandela sought political exile when he was first declared personae non-grata by the apartheid government of South Africa, arriving in Nigeria in the early 1960s (where he lived in the personal house of then Parliamentary Secretary, Mbazulike Amaechi, before deciding to return to South Africa to go underground in support of the military struggle), and why Nigeria was one of his first ports of call following his release in 1993 after 27 years in prison (and during which the Babangida government made a significantly large dollar donation to finance the electioneering campaigns of the ANC for South Africa’s first free elections ever). For the avoidance of any doubt, none of the foregoing entitles Nigerians to a special status in South Africa, nor should earn them permanent or automatic immunity, but it should caution the beneficiaries of our collective sacrifices to treat individuals offenders individually without blacklisting an entire nation and its people or resorting to the sort of barbaric stereotypes visited upon them during apartheid. > 7 Likes 1 Share |

9jaRealist: LMFAO, here comes a typical nigerian egomaniac with a chip on his shoulder. Many countries did more for SA than you did. Whatever you did has been reciprocated in kindness for over two decades now. Your students have been given schorlaships by not only the SA government ( SA taxpayers) , but also by private organisations. You pay less than other international students to study in some of Africa's great universities . Our taxes are feeding your criminals in prisons and jails . You are using our healthcare system for free when you get here ( our sweat ). You are using infrastructure that is not widely available in your own country that was and continues to be built and paid for by South Africans. The South African government has works well ( most times) with your government to bring in companies that employ you and give you quality services that you clearly lacked. But one thing is for damn sure , we will never overlook the criminality of your people in our country because of whatever relationship we have with Nigeria. 13 Likes 1 Share |
