TWoods: In Africa they have to verify.... That's why they are issuing visa to the wrong folks.... If they wont receive sense with their visa application policy then they should stop complaining on people misusing their B1B2 and F1 visa. 90% of African in the US today misused their visa. 1 Like |

TWoods:Yes, but 3000k naira is a lot more than 1,000 dollars.Nigeria is heavily subsidised. For example renting a room might be over 1000 dollars a month in US, while on the average in Lagos (which is expensive by Nigeria standard) will not be more than 50k a month. So there is opportunity to save for holidays on that pay. 1 Like |

oluayebenz: I believe this one too oluayebenz: But abeg, prolong am, please. That stats can never be correct. Unless you are quite quite young and all you have come to see and know is just recently. A lot of our folks left in the 70s, 80s and 90s, mostly grandparents now with generations of Americans being their offshoot. Immigrant visas via parents, spouses, siblings, children, etc are still accounting for a good number of Nigerians moving to the US. There’s the F1 and H1B categories too.... B1/B2 Overstay used to be minimal till only just lately, maybe even less than 5 years now and actually spiked astronomically in the last 1-2 years! The way Nigeria is currently is contributing a whole lot to this mess, so many financially comfortable people exiting Nigeria just like that, it’s tiring and shameful. 5 Likes |

oluayebenz: Yes, that's the current trend that has been happening over decades now but became more noticed now after the visa lottery for Nigerians stopped. Either way, one cannot blame most Nigerians misusing their F1 or B1/B2 visas. The US immigration has some very weak loop-holes that most non-immigrants are taking advantage of to legalize their stay once they get to the US. One of the most commonly used and fastest one is when a person who got into the US through the visiting or student visa decides to get married to a US citizen after three months of his/her arrival into the US and then the US citizen files a petition for a green card for that's non-immigrant spouse...as long as the couple can prove that the marriage is real and not just for immigrant purposes. And yes most Nigerians are very good with convincing their US citizen spouses that they are really in love with them...lol! 4 Likes |

OmoBendel24: Very true. Imagine a Senior Manager in CBN selling off all his properties in a bid to relocate. He said he is scared about the future of his kids if they remain here. All the marketers of a particular bank branch applied for interview at the same period, ALL! The affairs of the nation needs an overhaul & it needs to be done urgently. 2 Likes 1 Share |

pls, with respect to the trend of Nigerians overstaying, do you have to state that that u know an overstayed family member in your application. this family member is a sibling and u acquired the previous visa together. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Nobody: 6:49pm On Jun 12, 2019 |
OmoBendel24:Almost 30,000 Nigerians stayed beyond the period lawfully allowed by their visas in the US last year. A total of 29,723 Nigerian immigrants who travelled to the United States of America in 2018 overstayed their visas according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Nigeria's high overstay rate might not be unconnected to the announcement this week by the U.S. embassy in Nigeria that the visa interview waiver for those renewing visas in the country has been indefinitely suspended. https://qz.com/africa/1618935/us-cancels-dropbox-visa-interview-waiver-in-nigeria/ |

Beautyaddy:I'm not saying the percentage is correct but who will wait for 2 to 14 years for USCIS to complete your application when you can just go online fill a form and beg a friend over there to send you an invite and you are good to go... Most people don't really know about immigrant visa....that why if some people shout I Don get visa I just shake my head for people praise them....they don't know their visa category |
