It’s really not rocket science. Nigeria is powered by fuel price and an increase in fuel price affects both local and foreign goods, saying that the price of goods reduced from what it was before 2015 is just funny

Your own problem is you can't just argue with points...it's either you are calling every other person a name or you see other people's point as being funny. I can see you are the only reasonable guy in this forum who is making "sense". And you are the only guy too whose points aren't funny...every other opinion contrary to yours is funny. Bravo the wise guy!

PS: I am telling you from my experiences. Whether what i said makes sense to you or not, whether it's funny to you or not... It's up to you to decide...

That 10% rate is not per subscription. It is per annum. Most bankers delibrately hide this info from their customers. So the true rate for 10% for 72 days is actually (72/365) × 10%...a very ridiculous 1.97% interest per 72 day sub. angry

I have not seen in any financial book or article where Tbills is called a lazy man business. maybe you are unhappy people now know more about Tbills that you are involved in than before. And yes I was still around when Tbills hit that low (it was around December January coz I was at first bank negotiating at the time)

Those that will do Tbills will keep doing Tbills, the risk is low, so yields should be low.

If you are feeling adventurous you can take it out and play in some other market. However don't call it the lazy mans business, its just a LOW RISK investment platform where you sleep without fear of bankrupt.

Nonetheless its good to diversify ones portfolio

Poor investment return. Imagine profit one will yield running business with similar amount in 2months. I have sat down and discovered that financial institutions are fraud compare to business investment.

Tbills is not a business,it's only a saving plan to help you reach a saving target faster especially if you don't have time for a business or hate taking risk. If you like business and have the time, why dump huge amount of money in Tbills ??

CBN Signals End To Official Rate Regime For Naira
By Chijioke Nelson

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) may soon allow the naira to freely find its value, with a possible depreciation on the official rate, usually pegged at about N305/$, an update on its website has indicated.
The development is signaling an end to the most criticised foreign exchange rate window, which has been used mostly for government’s critical businesses that affect the public, particularly the importation of petroleum products.

If the move sees light of day, it will mean that the value of the naira at the official window is depreciated with its concomitant closure of the peg.

Yesterday, the apex bank, as opposed to the usual publication of the fixed exchange rate, opted to publish that “the rate will be market-determined.”

According to a report, the President of Shippers Association of Lagos State, Jonathan Nicol, said the Nigeria Customs Service had allegedly directed importers to pay for duties at the rate of N326 per dollar against the official rate of N306, citing an order from the CBN.

Also yesterday, the interbank rate depreciated by 0.2 per cent to N360.43 per dollar at the close of trading, while the parallel market remained steady at N360 per dollar.

A move toward a market-determined exchange rate would be welcomed by investors, who have long accused government of some level of capital controls and bemoaned multiple exchange rates.

The Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Investment Promotion Council, Yewande Sadiku, was quoted as saying the apex bank was in talks with other agencies to move to a single rate for the nation’s currency.

For an economic analyst at Ecobank, Kunle Ezun, “putting that on the website means the central bank is gradually moving towards a single exchange-rate window. It is making the exchange rate more liquid to attract more inflows.”

Look at it this way instead

Tell me what business in Nigeria that would return an interest of 1m within 48hours after investing a capital of 10m and with 99.99% assurance of getting your 10m back in 364 days.

No shop rent, no transportation, no association dues, no feeding at work/shop expense, no nothing.

Do TBills at an advance stage, u will enjoy it.

My advice to young couples.

Forget flashy things, raise 10m, split it into 4 equal parts.
Buy Tbills with sense at good rates preferably every quarter. So u get returns every quarter

On no account should u touch that principal, every year reinvest it and take the interest to settle your needs.

That way you are already on FG payroll, that is how Nigeria social security works. You dont need to have an employment with FG before they pay your house rent or children school fees. All you may need is a bond or bill.

Buy that bill today

There are four sources of income;

1. Salary
2. Self-employed/freelance
3. 'Big' business (the type you employ people to manage without being present)
4. Investment (e.g. rent, bond, t-bills, mutual fund, etc.)

If that 100k is made from option 1 or 2, there's nothing else you can do than put that money in option 4, or work towards building a 'big business' (option 3). Level 1 and 2 takes all your time, leaving you with very little or no room to get your hands dirty. Earning from at least 2 or 3 sources above is the real definition of multiple streams of income.

Basically, option 4 is the easiest, reason being it takes less than 2 hours per annum. Unlike 1 or 2.

Option 1&2 are the most difficult and come with lots of risk. Imagine a freelance graphic designer or a banker that losses his limbs at age 40
