SerVik: You are not getting my point. Look at Balogun. The one game convinced people that his lack of game time did not diminish his quality. It is not about Rohr’s decision. That was already made. I am talking of preventing a public critic of him making the wrong decision. As it stands, no major cryout. If Nacho had pulled a stunner and Rohr still dropped him, there would have been some noises. That I think was why Rohr avoided playing Nacho in the friendly. This is not about dropping Nacho or not. Rohr already made his decision. |

TheGoodJoe:Balogun wasn't selected because of his performance in the Zimbabwe game, balogun was selected - to borrow lexicons from kommekn - because of his consistent top level performance for the super eagles over the course of months. I can tell you for free that it would have taken a blunder the size of a nuclear explosion from balogun in that game to make Rohr even consider dropping him. The fans didn't need convincing either, those that know him know the difficulty he faced in his final season at Mainz and how it did not affect his performance. They also know he is currently our best defender and didn't draw that conclusion from a single game. Contrast that to iheanacho who has been poor for SE since world cup and poor for Leicester the whole of last season. It was simply a risk not worth taking. Hope the boy bounces back though. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Who Is The Most Unlucky Footballer Ever? Why? There are many footballers in the world of football today, who are unlucky ,when it comes to Trophy’s winning. The big question here is just to tell who is the Most unlucky footballer ever, and why? The answer to this question is not far fetched as the only answer that comes to my mind right now is Philippe Coutinho. We all know this Man? His name reminds us of great clubs out there, from the premier League to La-Liga, but he is just so unlucky. WHO IS PHILIPPE COUTINHO? Philippe Coutinho is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Spanish club Barcelona and the Brazilian national team. He is known for his combination of vision, passing, dribbling and bending long-range strikes Philippe Coutinho came to lime light when he joined Liverpool, but his dreams of winning the Big league UEFA champions League never came to reality when he was in England. He searched for greener pasture, this made him to join Barcelona in search of UEFA Trophy.[230 more words] Continue reading https://sportyleagues.com/who-is-the-most-unlucky-footballer-ever-why/

@TheGoodJoe. Please is it true that Bredan Rogers is planning to bring in Daniel Sturridge to Liecester City on a free transfer for the coming season? If true, then Iheanacho really have a lot to learn under Rogers. To me, Rogers say one thing in public & does exactly the opposite in private. I bet he does not have the patience to tolerate Iheanacho's lack of confidence in front of goal. He also will not continue to watch a professional footballer lacking basics such as ball control & dribbling out of small spaces. The new season will show us how right or wrong you are about Rogers. I remember how you use to stoutly defend Pep when Iheanacho was in Man City. Saying he was learning from him. But time really justified the true state of things then. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:54pm On Jun 13, 2019 |
zoboizee: First of all, too many misconceptions. I already said there was a chance Rodgers will bring in another striker. It is normal. Very expected. Two I wanted Iheanacho to stay and compete at City. Putting a fight by believing in adopting the system. Look at Zinchenko who was the bench for a long time at City. With time he has grown. So please, I never guaranteed Rodgers playing Iheanacho but Iheanacho spending a year with Rodgers developing and understanding the system which in turn will make him a better player. Also that opportunities will come and Nacho should be prepared to take it. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:59pm On Jun 13, 2019 |
zoboizee: Rodgers will need to keep coaching the players to get up to speed but in Sturridge, it will mean getting a player already coached in the system. Which will take fast blending in while he gets the other ready including Nacho. By the way, I still wished Nacho stayed back at City than running off to Leicester City. By now his tactical acumen of understanding the use of spaces when the team is with the ball and off the ball would have been sound. His tactical movement, positioning, passing and game reading would have been high. There is lots of work to learn. So I wonder what you mean by time justified the true state of things because I in no way supported Nacho's departure from City. |

TheGoodJoe:you failed to factor in the fact that not all players are equal in terms of pedigree and club situations. vardy, Messi, Aubameyang, Aguero can all afford to miss chances and still have their spots intact. Kelechi is in a different situation. he will have to learn to make use of every opportunity. 1 Like 1 Share |

Bunique: You miss the fact that these guys also play in systems that create chances for them even though they miss. If their sides do not create such loads of chances, their pedigree will reduce. When Nacho gets his run of games in the right system, his quality and pedigree will show. Finito. |
