Locomotive train is now a high speed train?
Just look at what we are celebrating after over 50yrs of existence as an independent nation with large deposit of crude oil. Who did we offend in that country? sad

All trains have locomotives. Be guided.

Even USA does not have a high-speed train network. Besides, there are still more locomotive than high speed rail even in China.

It's a mere 150km journey, we don't need a train running at 300km/hr just yet.

Stop lying, China uses high speed electric trains only.

You are the 'joke'! So, you want a high speed train on 156km distance? I don't know your level of education but you can reason better than this. Most of you just like to comment!

Good development. Those trains are not bad. They're still being used in China as I type. My prayer is that all major cities in Nigeria be linked with railway lines that way perishable commodities can be shipped from the farthest part of Nigeria to other parts of the country in a day or two. Furthermore, a good railway network would drastically reduce the number of accidents, armed robberies and kidnappings on our roads. Good development.

Before commenting in public spheres, always seek knowledge so as not to display ignorance.
That a train is called locomotive doesn't mean it can't be high speed.
Locomotive is just a description of its engine type.

I always know the local champions amongst us

You always think you know what happens in other societies and overshoot your expectations.

Those coaches are no different from what is used in UK.

Much better than what you'll find in the states if based on appearance alone.

Stop disparaging your country for likes on social media.
Travel the world and see for yourself.

I see some people here celebrating mediocrity and it's painful that they don't realise their children will grow up surrounded by mediocrity in this country while the rest of the world has firmly entered the technological age. I'm not saying it's wrong to appreciate improvements but when the improvement is not at par with what is current in the world then what you're appreciating is mediocrity. The leaders are not the problem of this country, the problem is we the people. We don't hold the leaders to high standards and therefore they underperform. If you send your child to school and you don't demand him to be at the top of his class at the end of every term then don't complain when he's among the failures in his class

That's not a high speed train. Mediocrity is a drawback.

in ur bid to sound intelligent u sounded a bit myopic and kinda ignorant...

If u had limited ur arguments to the fact we don't need for that journey it wouldn't have warranted my anger but to say we don't need it just yet is ridiculous and foolish... Pardon me. The countries u spoke about use only new locomotives for short distances but high speed trains for longer distances... Do u have Lagos -kano?and if yes what type of train?? Because definitely the countries u mentioned wouldn't use locomotives for such distances..

The pace at which work is moving now is not encouraging especially at the Lagos end and if care is not taken the project might not be completed by December, right now work has not started on any of the bridges at the level crossings in the Lagos end, because of the inconvenience that will be suffered if the track is laid without the crossing bridges the track has to be stopped metres short of the Toyin level crossing on the outskirt of Lagos

Honestly I commend the effort of FG on this stlow but steady development. For those of you who didn't see anything good on this I think you are just being mischievous. If OBJ and GEJ pursue this sector with vigour, maybe we would be using high-speed and not locomotive as you said, but what have they done, nothing. God bless FRN.

You are really shallow. Same China is building high speed train in Singapore and Malaysia, because your useless country choose to stick with locomotive doesn't mean China uses same.

From Cyberjaya to Kuala Lumpur is less than 100km yet they don't use locomotives, same thing in Singapore.
You brain must be locomotive like Buhari's own.
