I used to be more active on ttc thread though I come around here to ask questions and rejoice with mamas.

I used to wonder too if IUI works. I did my little research and saw it works for some cases. I started seeking to find a good hospital that has a high success rate with IUI not just IVF cos I didn't have money for IVF and wasn't ready for that yet. I was contemplating Kingswill hospital. Some may even remember me talking about them here last year, but didn't know anyone who had successful IUI with them. I only heard, didn't know anyone I could point to.
Towerofgrace gave her testimony on ttc thread and I read of others on nairaland that had successful IUI with St.Ives hospital, Lagos. I dug deeper, made more research and settled for their Ikoyi branch which has more IUI success rate.
The rest they say is history.

God has blessed me with a bfp. Despite negative results that surfaced. He made a way for me.

I will still write my WIDD. I am pregnant to the glory of God.

May God grant miraculous bfps to all of us still waiting especially those who are tired. Those who have seen others come, get their bfps and moved on and yet are still waiting. I know how it feels. Like God, when will it get to my turn? It is well. Our time is here and Amen.

MY WIDD
I got tired of trying on my own and decided to go further. I decided to try fertility treatments. And opted for IUI -Intrauterine Insemination. I made my findings looking for a reputable hospital with a record for successful IUI not just IVF. Towerofgrace's testimony of using St. Ives, Ikoyi branch, Lagos and getting bfp gingered me. I found others who had successful IUI too with them. So I went to them- St.Ives Ikoyi branch.
Ikeja headquarters was nearer to me but I opted for the particular branch where I had heard real life IUI success experiences of mamas here.

During the course of my investigative tests with them, they saw hydrosalphinx in both tubes with one tube even enlarged. Hydrosalphinx blocks sperms from passing through for those who may not know. How will I do IUI with this? I started asking doc about IVF. Not that I had the money sef neither was I ready for IVF but I knew my chances were slimmer with IUI in light of that. My FSH was also higher than normal. Ah! Kilode? (wetin happen na) I didn't have all these before. What changed? Well, the doc -Dr Osahon of Ikoyi branch encouraged me to still do my IUI and look up to God for success. He never pushed me towards towards IVF even though it would have brought in more money for them.

He prescribed antibiotics for me for the tubes after my HSG. I also started doing castor oil massage which I learnt from here, though without the heating to avoid injury to my surgery site (I had had ovarian cyst removal surgery over a year ago). I just rubbed the castor oil on my tummy and slept off with it. I was told it will still penetrate into the reproductive system.
I believe God used the HSG, antibiotics, castor oil and warm water therapy which I will mention next, to help clear the hydro from my tubes.
Note that I stopped the castor oil before my IUI cycle cos I didn't want anything to disturb the process. Castor oil breaks down adhesions and corrects things. I felt it should have done enough abeg.

I and my DH had started the habit of drinking warm water every morning like an hour or 30mins before food... prior to the cycle I conceived. I even went further to also drink it last thing at night too for a few days. We had not even drunk warm water for two months complete before I conceived. It's just about a month plus we started it. I researched on it and I was amazed at the many benefits.
I also avoided processed sugar and sugary drinks this period. I had actually cut down seriously on sugary things since I discovered they were not good for fertility few years back.

Hubby started Addyzoa like two weeks to insemination just to boost his sperm count though we were not battling with that.

Then St.Ives does double insemination for two consecutive days. No extra charge. We did this.

I also relaxed and slept more on my left side during my successful two week wait. I also drank lots of water. I mean lots like a bottle of water every 3-4 hours. I was told it will help transport the sperms to meet the eggs. And help implantation. I limited my going out during my tww. Relaxed more at home just laying down on my left and only stepped out quickly for very important reasons. This was just to avoid stress that may hamper fertilization and implantation.
In addition, it's advisable to wear thick socks during the tww to keep Uterus warm. I didn't wear socks but I wore thick palm slippers all over the house even in my bedroom.

I didn't pray much this cycle but I prayed sometimes and just asked God for mercy cos I was tired. But I remember that after last year's Shiloh, we were told to go home and praise God with our baby items for some nights. That is do like some minutes midnight praise every night. I really worshipped and praised my God for some nights that period lifting my baby item and pleading and crying sometimes for Him to show me mercy. My new phone even fell one of the nights and the screen broke seriously. I showed God my broken phone an grin and told Him to 'compensate ' me tongue and crown my little efforts with success.
To add to my faith efforts, I brought out my baby item to my sitting room to boldly declare the presence of children in my house. Any visitors that came could see it. I was tired of trying to be careful of not being too forward. Now I didn't care. I had kids in my house. Period. If you like ask me where they were. Na you sabi lipsrsealed tongue

To cap it up, God blessed me with my first bfp on my first IUI try after much tears, waiting, negative reports etc. To Him alone be all the glory. Thank you for reading. I hope I have been able to help or ginger some mamas. God will do it for us all.

Sorry I was still going to reply your pm later today. Thanks. My dh's sperm count bordered on average i.e 20million like two years ago.

Before the IUI during tests, it was 15million. Though, we only abstained for two days prior to the SFA. So I feel that could account for the drop. The doc recommended Addyzoa to boost it for IUI. I wish you the best. Amen.

Cost of IUI at St. Ives ,Ikoyi branch currently is as follows :
Registration and Consultation -20k
(you don't pay for subsequent consultations again after this).

Investigative tests -150k
(I heard from friends that if you have current results of some tests, they will use them and refund your money for those tests at the end of everything. I didn't use this option cos I didn't have current tests results and I just wanted them to do all tests themselves so they won't have cause to say I caused any negative outcome tongue . Not that it's guaranteed but you know na wink )

IUI - 200k for one trial.
500k for 3 consecutive trials.

IVF -800k (I think this is promo price. Not sure if it continues for this amount after their promo periods)

My sister I don't know if IUI is a viable option for you. Probably, you can consult with the doc or able mamas here. I would say never say never sha, cos after all like they say... it takes one or two sperms to conceive.

Their IVF is 800k. This is the one I will advise cos of that result but what do I know.
I don't know their current reputation for successful IVF (though they said on their calender that some years back they helped one 60something year old or so Mum to conceive). Don't know of now. It's their IUI I can speak for. There is something they are doing right especially that Ikoyi branch or maybe it's just their luck.

Wow, thank you Jesus! Congratulations mama. You'll carry to term in Jesus Name. And God who has done yours will bless everyone here and the main ttc thread with a BFP.

You're right. St. Ives Ikoyi branch must be doing something right. They've got the highest success rate with IUI at first attempt from the reviews I've read here. Thanks to Adorablewifey whose review of them I first read. They're good.

17 Natural Ways to Boost Fertility
1. Eat Foods That Are Rich in Antioxidants:Antioxidants like folate and zinc improve fertility
2. Eat a Bigger Breakfast
Eating a substantial breakfast may help women with fertility problems.

One study found that eating a larger breakfast may improve the hormonal effects of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS),

3. Avoid Trans Fats
Eating healthy fat every day is important for boosting fertility.

However, trans fats are associated with an increased risk of ovulatory infertility, due to their negative effects on insulin sensitivity.

4. Cut Down on Carbs:Lower-carb diets may help you maintain a healthy weight, reduce insulin levels and encourage fat loss, all while helping menstrual regularity
5. Eat Less Refined Carbs
It's not just the amount of carbs that's important, but also the type. Refined carbs may be especially problematic

6. Eat More Fiber
Fiber helps your body get rid of excess hormones and keeps blood sugar balanced.

Some examples of high-fiber foods are whole grains, fruits, vegetables and beans.

7. Swap Protein Sources:Replacing some animal proteins (such as meat, fish and eggs) with vegetable protein sources (such as beans, nuts and seeds) is linked to a reduced risk of infertility
8. Choose High-Fat Diary
9. Try a Multivitamin
10. Get Active:Exercise has many benefits for your health, including increased fertility
11. Take Time to Relax

Re: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by computergod: 5:53pm On Jun 13, 2019
Good day everyone.

Please I need assistance here.

I have been having sore throat and doctors have placed me on antibiotics for some time now.

Last week, a surgery was scheduled for me to remove the neck mass (Thyroglosaal duct cyst )

The surgery was successful but during stitching, the doctors folded part of my skin out,

When the stitches were removed, that part of the skin folded out got infected.

I have been placed on antibiotics for about 10 days .

Mid way into d use of the antibiotics, my wife's fertility clinic told her to tell me they need my semen analysis.

My question is : will my recent surgery and post surgery antibiotics treatment affect the SFA parameters ?

Pls I need answers.

Thanks

I just operated my ovary cyst along with Multiple Fibroids two month ago. I spent four days in the hospital. Still thinking about the IUI or IVF......

I prayed that I will come and share my testimony soon because I'm really tired of people mocking and laughing me.......

You shall testify soon my sis. How was the surgery done, was it a keyhole or an open surgery?

May God grant miraculous bfps to all of us still waiting especially those who are tired. Those who have seen others come, get their bfps and moved on and yet are still waiting. I know how it feels. Like God, when will it get to my turn? It is well. Our time is here and Amen.

MY WIDD
I got tired of trying on my own and decided to go further. I decided to try fertility treatments. And opted for IUI -Intrauterine Insemination. I made my findings looking for a reputable hospital with a record for successful IUI not just IVF. Towerofgrace's testimony of using St. Ivies, Ikoyi branch, Lagos and getting bfp gingered me. I found others who had successful IUI too with them. So I went to them- St.Ivies Ikoyi branch.

Then St.Ivies does double insemination for two consecutive days.

God will do it for us all.

congrats ma'am. I rejoice with you
if God can do it for u then He can do it for all of us
u re a kind woman
i remember when u used write all the widd for others

That's so affordable. Please can I PM you?

pls do, the 3failed anyway and I was not happy with the way they handled IUI, it seemed it was meant to get ivf clients. why do I think so?

He made sure he triggered late when my follicles passed d time that research quoted as best(18-20). he triggered when it was 30mm, 32, or 25. and insemination was usually done 39 to 42 hours after. I complained but he never listened. The follicles often end up as cysts cost they were over matured. He then ended up suggesting ivf. I am moving on to ivf but certainly not with him. The IUI patients were also not given attention to like ivf.

That is bad for Androcare. Infact, He just opened another branch with different name at Ikorodu saying IVF with drugs is N650,000. God will save us from them all. Thank you sis for sharing your experience with us. I really appreciate.
