Check if those keys work in BIOS or when typing password. Activate keyboard sound in BIOS and try pressing those keys to see if it will give sounds. Or try it in your password bar. If it works, that means the drivers you installed are affecting the system. Reload Windows to a time when the keyboard was still working. Revert driver changes. It should work. If it doesn't, then it is a hardware problem. Hardware problems can occur in the blink of an eye

You mean to say save mode?

Safe mode also works too. Yeah, he can restart to safe mode
The best bet is to revert Windows back to a time when the keyboard worked(system restore). That's why people should always create a new Windows image before doing something as critical as driver updates. And PCs should be set to backup automatically every week

Press and hold Shift and click Restart on your startup menu while still holding Shift
Navigate to troubleshoot - advanced settings - startup settings
Choose the right option for safe mode (It's usually 4, so that's F4 or just normal number 4) and wait for it to load up

You can also turn the PC on for like 5 seconds and then turn off with the power button. Repeat the sequence like 3 times, so the PC thinks there is a problem and on the next startup, it will give you the Exit and Continue, Troubleshoot, Power Off options. Follow the remaining steps in the first paragraph

You talk about testing in bios, i was just wondering how he could test all keyboard keys in bios.

Sometimes I don't reply some questions here not because i feel too big or so but because a little Google search can solve them.

Guys pls I need help.

My system is infected with Trojan virus, I tried removing it from with an antivirus but its still the same.

The virus reverts the display and distort mouse pointer.

Hello nairalanders, I have a budget of 60k and I want a UK used laptop with specs: core i5, 1080p resolution, 8gb ram, 500ssd.

Lol. In many BIOS( mostly Insyde sha), they have an option to make sound when keys are pressed. So, if he activates it and those keys do not make sound when pressed, that means it's a hardware problem. At least, I know that keys Y and N work universally in most BIOS. Hope you grab??

Guy!!! grin
You can get an i5 (maybe 2nd generation or vPro)
4gb RAM at most (You can upgrade later but it might only increase performance slightly. Go for 4gb and don't run too many programs at once)
512mb - 1gb dedicated graphics maybe
But don't expect 1080p resolution or SSD. The cheapest 500gb SSD is like 35k in Naira. And 1080p screen laptops with the rest of your specs intact start from at least 150k. The truth is there is nothing fantastic about 1080p on laptops. It wastes battery and can even reduce playability in games. You can get an SSD of maybe 60gb as an internal drive for Windows and major programs. Then, your HDD will be connected as external drive

I don't sell laptops but these are your options for that price
Hp Elite book 2170p
Hp Elite book 2570p
Dell Latitude E5430
Hp Elite book 8440p

You can check out shopinverse at Maryland mall cos they sell in bulk and the prices will be cheaper than most Computer Village vendors. And no, I'm not affiliated with them

Use paid antivirus. Do full scan. Anytime a virus is quarantined, go to your quarantine area and delete it immediately

My major PC problem was with the VPN I was using. It slows down my PC speed and sometimes my PC got disconnected from the internet.
I was using a free vpn. But I switched to ivacy vpn which is a paid service. Things got improved and it never got stuck again.
Get ivacy now https://ivacy.com

Hello.
This symptom indicate a heating issue with your system.

So, every motherboard has an inbuilt mechanism that shutsdown the entire PC when the heat goes through the roof. Thus preventing the motherboard from being fried (like dodo) I love dodo - The one that is fried deep brown?? Yeah that kind smiley

Oops! Where was I ? grin

Now, aside the normal heat generated by ICs and other aside components, the processor and graphics chip generate a considerable amount of heat!!

So, what could make your processor or graphics chip heat up so bad?

Well, thermal pastes on processors and thermal pads on chips increase heat absorption...in fact they contact heat first before heat even gets to the heat sink shocked

If these thermal pastes and pads are worn out, the absorption decreases soo much.

So, even if your fan is spinning well, it ain't blowing Nada off your PC.

Check with a technician to do a clean up of your PC, Vents, Fans and fins. Also a thermal paste/Pad replacement.

As for the bolded, well, its still hot...

And if the issue persists, the technician will do further diagnosis.

BTW, dodo means fried plantain. grin grin

**Cheers**

I hope its not AMD prcessor you have, well what you described here are strong symptoms of over heating.

Your system should have been alerting you about this tho first discontinue the use so as not to damage your mother baord.

Get a technician to check your system please.

Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by etech: 3:11pm On Jun 15, 2019
Quick one is your battery icon marked x if not try another Charger and see if that works.

Your charging port might be a suspect in this.

There might be some windows System file that are corrupt run SFC to fix errors.

1. Open CMD as administrator
2. Type sfc /scannow and hit enter allow the process to finish.
