Federal and states Ministries of Agriculture has departments responsible for that
Is their some incentive to lie linked possibly to some oil goodies from Abuja. Do inflated figures get rewarded by some funding from federal gov.Do you have other sources outside official channels like university research. In Kenya we for example have Kippra, ilris, and tegemeo institute churning data around agriculture. We know without any doubt your population census is rigged because of oil dollars.

Your agriculture is acknowledged to have long collapsed. I have checked the data - with your cooked GDP - you're bigger than Brazil & Indonesia.

I know there is a lot of arable land in Nigeria....but how much of that land is under cultivation. What we know is that after oil discovery, Nigerians left farms and went to towns, they had world fastest urbanization in 80-90s. We have seen you invite Zim white farms and give them thousands of fallow land.

At least before oil - Nigeria was known to export palm oil and many things - now you still use the same data series - and there is no farming going on.

In fact, part of your plan to get out of oil - is to revamp & jump start you agriculture. I wonder what you're going to jump start if it's already 100B dollar worth.

I give an example from my work colleagues who left for MINNA Nigeria [JayCunt home town] by to quoting part of his farewell email.

Reaching out to share some exciting though bittersweet news: I will be leaving the Kenya team in some few months to go to Minna, Nigeria! I've attached a '"Where the heck is Minna?" Map' in case that was your first thought.

One google post I found really sums Minna up, though:

"Brown, caked, dry, uncultivated, vast expanse of land; I was amazed. I've never seen land so extensive without trees all my life."

I'm sure you understand the appeal!

This guy is a fool. cheesy You keep disgracing Kenyan education here. Cultivable land is different from arable land in the parlance of FAO. You would have seen that if you had bothered to read the link I posted.
Arable land includes land defined by the FAO as
land under temporary crops (double-cropped
areas are counted once), temporary meadows for
mowing or for pasture, land under market or
kitchen gardens, and land temporarily fallow.
https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Agriculture/Arable-land/Hectares
So in essence, those hectares you see in the chart are land under cultivation in those countries. While Nigeria had over 30million hectares under cultivation, Kenya had only 5million of its poor land under cultivation despite Kenya having half of Nigeria's total land mass.
Your land requires serious application of fertilizer to do well.More than ours. That's why your people are hungry.

You forget tema is expanding not new like lekki. Anyway what is lekki spec? GHANA might have renegotiated a better deal. We saw similar evidence in the train project. .

Lekki deepseaport is 1.5 billion. You just lied. And the capacity is less comparable to tema The acres of land is small as well. I can bet you. When it is fully completed. It might be the biggest port in SUBSAHRAN africa with the exception of Durban which is even contested.

OMG...My bad I totally mistook the cost of of ibom deepseaport for lekki dear sea port. Although ibom deapseaport has just recently started, it cost $2.5BN not $2bn and is expected to be completed by 2021 while badagry deapseaport will cost $2.6bn .
Lekki deapseaport capacity is 1.5 million 20 foot equivalent unit (teus) container capacity and it's is expected to grow to 2.7 million and 4.7 million TEUs when the port begins operation. And as for the cost of lekki deapseaport it's actually $1.65bn not $1.5bn.
We will earn $560bn from the port .

By the way what train are you talking about?

Ogun state Developments

Petrolex Oil & Gas Facility, Ibefun, Odogbolu LG, Ogun State. forget DANGOTE, here is another black Nigerian Mafia making us proud
grin grin

Nigeria’s Petrolex to float refinery in Ogun, South West Nigeria.

Petrolex Group, an indigenous oil and gas company said it will spend about USD3 billion to construct a petroleum refinery in Ogun state, South West Nigeria.

The company said it is investing to create ePetrolex Mega Oil City to increase the availability of refined petroleum products.

The coming of Petrolex into the refining sector will be a competition to Dangote Refinery, a project planned to be delivered in 2019.

Nigeria has been faced with an inadequate supply of petroleum products which has put the country into series of oil swap agreements with international energy firms to import petroleum products back into the country.

Petrolex might not pose a big competition to Dangote Refinery as the refinery is said to deliver 100,000 barrels per day when completed. According to estimates from PwC, Dangote refinery will deliver 650,000 bpd when it opens for business by mid-2019.

Operating at 50% utilisation, existing refineries (445,000 bpd) are operating at 20% utilization and modular refineries (combined capacity of 200,000 bpd) also come onstream early 2019, operating at 90% utilization.

As to where Petrolex will get the funds to finance such projects, the company said it will fund the project with debt instruments and its revenue from the midstream sector of the oil industry.

Hahahaha take it easy bro kenyans would not like this, they will tell you the whole world will start using electric cars by 2025.
Such mumu-minded jealous fellows. Electric cars would be used by everyone in the world by 2025 and saudi arabia wants to build a $20bn refinery In india just as they are building a $1.5bn refinery in Nigeria.
All oil producing needs to invest now and make the final money from this sector. I like how we are taking the gas sector seriously cause that would stand firmly when oil finally goes in let's say 50 years from now. Gas sector will fetch us more money than oil and the good news is that it's not going anywhere like oil
