hmmm, madam what about the father of those two kids you be claim to mother, look here lady, it will be advisable you inform their father if he is still alive irrespective of any differences between you two so karmal don't catch up with you in the long run. Just a piece of advice to you. Relocating to another country with the pretense of taking two innocent kids from the reach of their father is a grievous offense and you may end up being the looser in the long run which is an 100% certainty or what could a lady in her early thirties relocating out of the country with two innocent kids which I believe don't know their father have in mind. Karma will catch up with you.

You don't know her situation so don't spew nonsense. Your so-called advise is packed in insults. What if the father abandoned them? What if he's dead? And even if she wants to take them away what's your business??

You will have to do careful research on the cost of living in your preferred destinations in the developed world to have an idea of whether your finances can sustain you all for a certain amount of time (say 3 to 6 months) without any income and then take your decision.

Hard truth - life abroad (let's use the term "abroad" to mean the developed western countries here) isn't cheap for someone coming from a country with a weak currency. The heating costs for your first winter alone can induce depression. There will be childcare for your children to factor in as well since you are single. No matter how qualified you are and where you were working in Nigeria (if you are employed), do not expect to just arrive and get good employment right off the bat. This is why the Canadian and other immigration schemes require prospective immigrants to show proof of enough funds to sustain them for up to year in the absence of any other income.

Depending on where you are going, and how you get there, you may or may not be eligible for some government assistance (if entering Canada as a permanent resident through Express Entry you have as much entitlement as anyone else, for instance). But you have to balance this out against other harsh realities - sometimes as a new immigrant, what you can afford to pay in rent doesn't get you a very salubrious area, and being encumbered with children limits your choices.

Put differently, for instance, I could live in one room in Hackney or Brixton (Ajegunle) if I were all alone, while I am finding my feet in a new land, but with 2 children to look after, I would rather avoid such areas and their gangs and bad public schools, thus forcing one to move up and pay more.

Hard truth No. 2 - It's easier to hustle if you're alone, you can work many shifts, or hold more than one job, while you settle in and hopefully move on up to better things. With children, you're limited unless your income can cover extended childcare expenditure; not possible at many commonly obtainable income levels.

Hard truth No. 3 - I know several people who relocated alone first then sent for their children and/or spouses later. It's certainly a very common occurrence and one you might have to seriously look at, depending on your finances.

Best of luck.
The best comment I've read on nl ever!

i will offer a realistic point of view. Unless your children are below the age of 12 you won’t be able to leave them at home alone, the western world has very different laws regarding children.
1. So you will need to consider your childcare needs - childcare costs vary depending on country.
2. To take the children with you means they will have to enrol them into a school and how will that happen if you have the kids with you? Whom will you leave them at home with?
3. Cost of living. Your job has to be able to cover your living expenses and childcare if needed.
Unless you find a job in the ME where the employers are very generous in terms of benefits of accommodation, paying for utility bills etc
You will have to go alone to pave the way for your children that will be the pragmatic way to approach things.

Help A Single Mum With Ideas

Hi everyone..as the topic states I need advise help and personal assistance too if possible.

I'm a single mum of two little kids and I really wish to start another phase of my life away from Nigeria. I feel it will greatly help I and my kids move on from the past.
I'm not too old to work as I'm in my early 30's. Finance is available though limited to a certain amount.
Call me 07065999754
I would love a situation where I can leave with my kids and not have to come back for them later..somehow, they seem to be my motivation to go on.

With these information, which country do you suggest that will be easy for immigration.

Also, be careful not to fall into the hands of fake travel agent.

The simple truth is migrating with kids is extremely difficult except you have a LARGE PURSE nothing less than $25k for you and 2kids. This would be for housing, bills groceries etc for about 1year before you fully settle.

If you have that kind of money, why not start a business here in Nigeria?

Hello. I am also thinking of relocating to the UK via study visa with my wife and infant. In which she would be dependent on me and work full time.
My fears: how do we pay bills and education once we land there. And also plan to continue studying (PhD)so as to lengthen our stay there. Are the plans sustainable?
omolomolarinero:
Canada is the best bet but Canada isn't as easy as people think. May I ask how old you are and the ages of ur kids? Again, what qualifications do you have? How much are you also willing to commit to the journey abroad? Canada is a bit tricky if you are really on the old side and have no access to funds. Europe is a better alternative once u can pursue an English speaking country.

Mr, you don't just stay besides your keyboard to discredit a golden advice that will save those two innocent kids from future embarrassment, ladies at times might be so funny. Take Tonto dikeh scene as a case study, hmmm, they can do anything to get public sympathy. You said how are mine sure the husband didn't abandoned them or even dead. Bro know this today, 60% of Nigeria ladies have singlehandedly destroy their marriage in a bid to get at their husband. Their is still something she hasn't let us all know partaining those innocent kids. She might probably not be the biological mother of those kids. Thanks

You have not stated your reasons for relocation

I believe you can still be happier here and make your fortune then go abroad for vacation

With time you will know if its better to relocate permanently or holidays alone

Relocation to any part of this world is expensive especially when accommodation is involved

Think twice

Do you have any idea about the ease of settling down... especially as it may concern a single mum with two kids?

Ghana is just like Nigeria but more conducive if you have little money. That person gave you best advice, relocate to Ghana and start business and have rest of mind.
