kennygee: Lol, Thank the abokis for low cost of food stuffs up there in the north. It has nothing to do with Lagos but nearness to farmers. I know most women here go to markets around Ikorodu, Agege where northerners dwell to buy cheaper items. 1 Like |

MrMcJay: To start a payment integrator or a FinTech company, the fintech firm needs a license from CBN and partnership with all banks. Which serious bank will give you that partnership without a physical location? So when did the bold ever happen? 7 Likes |

Just2endowed2: 1500 per month for the smallest shop around here . Wish I could just bring my business down Ibadan ASAP. Lagos be taxing brothers to death. It's little wonder business owners are migrating in their droves down to neighbouring Ogun State on the daily. |

This reminds me of about 5years ago when I was trying to get a shop as office for my furniture biz around iyanapaja-egbeda, the minimum I got was 250k, I had to remain online using eateries as meeting points but the problem was that majority of those clients wants to know my office before dealing. I had to beg a guy doing a related biz to be using his shop to receive my clients, he is an illiterate, and I tried everything possible to come down to his level. not long he accused me of flourishing more than him, he became intimidated and started doing things that will get me discouraged to stay further like bringing Alfas and be doing turari, laslas he fought me that I was snatching his customers, I had to tell myself it was high time I got my own office. I stopped going there. Started praying for miracle, A month later i decided to register for one free summer training program in furniture designs which I saw online in v.i during the training a client contacted me from the north and asked for my office address, no where to take him, so I just gave the address of my training place. The day he came, I lied that I do my work there, I took him to the small lobby leading to the workshop(because he can't go inside the workshop), i told our trainers he was my brother. I got him a cup of tea from the kitchen. I was just praying inside of me that the boss should not come out and also praying that some of my busy body trainee colleagues will not come and mess me up. So he was able to peep into the workshop, when he saw the sophisticated machines there, he said no doubt I can do the job, he brought out his cheque book and gave me 900k cheque. I never got lump sum as high as that in my life. I the first thing I did was to get my own workshop for 250k, put my few equiments and made sure I delivered on time to collect my 400k balance. Although he is still owing me 90k till today, I never bothered. I forgave him because God used him turn my life around. E no easy to survive in Lagos as a starter. 29 Likes 1 Share |

Gerrard59: I have forgotten the name of that particular startup but I remember it handles payroll for companies. Crossed a billion Naira processed last year and that's when I heard about it. Let me give you another example that clears your doubts. Payant crossed 1 Billion in payments being processed and they work out of a virtual office in Kaduna. Bro, i advise tech companies and there's an easy and faster way my clients comply with the requirements in your opening paragraph. I won't state that here. 1 Like 1 Share |

[quote author=PrinceOgun post=79448753]....Physical shops are no longer a feasible and reasonable way of marketing goods in Nigeria, its Online Business , that make all the money this days , When I mean online I mean Websites, make use of the social groups at your disposal , I remember when I had an IT shop selling gadgets and smartwatches in Opebi my business packed up within a year, I was downcasted a bit then I thought of the enormous potential of Nigeria's population , I mean 60% percent of Nigerians now browse the internet that's like 17 billion people easily, I started with paying some admins on Facebook with large groups so I can post my merchandize after a month I made over 200% profit , then I invested , I levereged on my Web design and IT skills so i created a top notch E-Commerce website like jumia and also bought 5 large Facebook groups of my own , now all my selling is done on those groups with ease of mind and major profits all round and I even rent out advertisement spaces to upcoming marketers and they too have been thanking me that they have never had it so good! Move your business online while you still can .....[/quote Theory. Go and buy pepper online |

tomdon: I doubt if you've ever run a single profitable enterprise in your life. All the top eateries and fast foods businesses in Nigeria today started from Lagos. Fan milk is in Ibadan, their largest market is in Lagos. Gala by Uac foods sells more in Lagos than the other 35 states combined. So, you'll cook breakfast and lunch at home before leaving by 5am for work and carry 2 lunchboxes to work? No person living in Lagos would make the ignorant statement you just made. Sit at home and be cooking beans while others are in VI, Apapa, Ikoyi, Ikeja making money. 4 Likes |
