I read Anne Rice's vampire series and I realised that the vampires behave exactly like the way the Christian heaven is often described.

Like in heaven, the vampires do not age or deteriorate nor do they grow. They can not procreate and in heaven there will be no additions to the community, it's the same set of people for all eternity. They no longer have use for food as primary sustenance so you basically don't even have the pleasure of eating food for the taste.

And as described there is only joy in heaven so you'll be basically be in a euphoric state for ever and ever.

I doubt there be any opportunities to learn anything useful because you have no need to develop skill in anything and anything you do learn makes no difference as it changes nothing about your circumstances.

Such a place doesn't seem to enjoy any distinction between a regimented life and one without any set priorities or anything in between because it won't matter, it will all be unchanging.

There'll be no surprises, nothing to look forward to, no progress to mark.

All these and more makes it feel like the way undead vampires are envisioned to behave.

I am hard pressed to see how any of this would be appealing. Perhaps you guys can offer some insight.

Interesting Note: Anne Rice was an atheist who became a christian then despaired over the state of organised religion but says she retains her faith in Christ.

In the bible heaven is the place where god lives. Christians say he’s everywhere. But heaven is his throne. Well I think the reason why most believers find the place appealing is probably because it is assumed to be sinless.

But I do not find heaven appealing as it would be boring for me. If I found worshiping god while I’m on earth as boring and I only lived for hundred years now imagine how I would regret my life worshipping the same god for eternity. I would drop a quote from popular atheist Christopher Hitchens “By trying to adjust to the findings that it once tried so viciously to ban and repress, religion has only succeeded in restating the same questions that undermined it in earlier epochs. What kind of designer or creator is so wasteful and capricious and approximate? What kind of designer or creator is so cruel and indifferent? The exact plan of God after the life on this earth has not yet been spelt out and no Christian can say exactly. But the descriptions we read in the bible are there to let us know that the life after now will be a much more advanced kind of life. Far better than what we presently have.I believe there will be activities and work to do. Intact its a different system entirely.

Again let me also point out to you that the heaven Christians talk about are not really like we are gonna be living inside the sky. Revelation told us of a new heaven and a new earth. I believe God will bring a new earth and new heaven and superimpose it on this present earth bringing the heavenly order to reign on this earth.

Lastly if God can create this earth and make it so interesting to you,he is also capable of creating another system and make it interesting. Everything is a gift of God. Your feelings are a gift of God. So think beyond what you feel and see this from the angle of God who can make all things possible

This thread reminds me of the book of Eartum 24. Heaven will only make sense if it is not for eternity. In the actual sense, there are afterlives where there are peace of mind but people are free to move from one to another. There are uncountable of them. According to the book of Universal History, here is a little experience in one of the afterlives, which is called the INNERMOST UNIVERSE.

3. I could go to the innermost part of the universe to have some deep rest for some years and return to continue my explorations. I had already digitized my heartbeats such that I knew how to tune to any rate of heartbeats of my choice.

how do you know this. You’re not more special than anyone on earth, neither have you left this earth to witness what happens after death, but you believe your holy book is right. How do you want people to accept what your holy book is saying if it was wrong about the origin of life it would surely be wrong about what happens after life.
