Quoting me again shows that you’re rather going back and forth with me, and saying my disagreement with your empty statements is derailing others seems that you’re trying to somewhat shove your opinion down my throat I’m sure I’ve never discussed my study plans with you or discussed the SOA I’m using with you So carry your narcissistic ass out of my mentions Also, the goodluck you are wishing me, I wish you back 10 folds in all your endeavors in life and may the goodluck never depart from you blackmamba147: No point going back and forth with you, Don't derail people from the valuable points made. I'm sure you are planning to use your uncles SOA to escape the poo hole, good luck in your visa application.

Damn! I should’ve checked again in the middle of the night solihp:
I saw June 21(yes tomorrow, 1 slot) and July 18(didnt check how many slots) and alot of August. That's for Lagos and provided the person haven't been refused before, if he/she has been refused, he/she might not see any date.
This report was valid till 3am today. Don't know about now. |

Sorry about the delay sis. Good that you know what to work on. I believe you will get it next time. All the best solihp: Hello, so my visa was delayed at the Lagos consulate today , my appointment time was 6:30, I was interviewed by a white guy in his 30s or 40s at window 3.
VO: Why are you going to the US Me: I am going for my Masters in Mathematics with concentration in Biostatistics at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.
VO:Why this course Me: This course would equip me with the necessary skills in tackling some public health challenges, such as the investigation of food borne disease, establishing the causes of illness outbreak and it would enable me to take on job when I come back.
VO:What's your highest qualification ME: I have a Bachelor of Technology in Statistics
VO:What is Biostatistics Me: Biostatistics is the application of Statistical methodologies to the field of forensic Medicine, medical practices, public health and other health related fields
VO: How did you hear about the school Me: I did an extensive research on usnews to know the schools that offer Statistics with Concentration in Biostatistics and I came across GSU
VO: How did you get this huge scholarship Me: I believe the admission committee were impressed with my CGPA, the fact that I graduated at the top 7 of my class, my statement of purpose, the recommendation my lecturers sent across.
VO: You have an oncampus employment, what will you be doing Me: I have not been assigned my duties..... A pause, it's a graduate teaching assistantship position
VO: who's your sponsor Me: My uncle, Mr...
V.O : How many children does he have Me: 2
VO: Where does he live Me: Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State
VO: Why will he want to sponsor you Me: My parents were one of his educational sponsor and he has been part of my success story since my mom died and he promised to sponsor me when I graduated with a strong CGPA
VO:Have you travelled before ME: No I have not had reasons to
What I noticed during the interview, he emphasised on the huge scholarship as if he was impressed, but I feel he was disappointed with the fact that I said I haven't been assigned my duties, he said again that but you have a campus employment, that was when I mentioned that it is a graduate teaching assistantship position.
Also, how I got my scholarship, I should have mentioned my GRE scores, also although he didn't ask what I would do after my course, when he asked why this course, at the end, I should have mentioned a specific position, I had an answer for that. Please help me figure out what went wrong and how I can improve my responses, I want to reapply immediately.
No document was asked except passport, Sevis fee, and i20
My profile: 3.47/4.00 WES unofficial evaluation GRE score:314, 161Q, 153V My tuition was waived(30k)+ 10k stipends, total cost of attendance is roughly 49k, so deficit of less than 9k. |

PLEASE gurus in the house help critique my proposed f-1 visa transcript. My interview is next week. Thanks
Me: good morning sir/ma’am VO: good morning, Me: how was your night? VO: fine thank you VO: pass me your passport and I-20? Me: passes it over to her VO: you were denied twice last year, why apply again? Me: yes I was denied F-1 Visa under section 214(b) ... because I could not articulate my study plans well and I was rejected. VO: so tell me your study plans Me: Upon resumption of school, I will register 3 courses with a total of 9 credits hours for both first and second semesters respectively. Thereafter I would work in my research concentration in my second year with focus on AM Technology and Industrial Automation at the Industrial Robotics and Manufacturing Lab to equip me with the technical knowledge and on demand skills which will give me an edge to become a senior industrial production engineer on a managerial level at the Fed Ministry of Science and Technology department of Projects Development Institute or a lecturing job at my Alma Mater the University of Nigeria’s newly established department of Industrial and Production Engineering (though currently awaits full accreditation status from the National Universities Commission, NUC) to help pioneer its eventual take off. I will also write some professional certification courses like the Quality Engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt exams to increase my employability in the job market. VO: What’re the courses you’ll be taking at Morgan State University? Me: I would be required to complete 33 credit hours of course work in 24 months inclusive of 18 credit hours of core courses, 9 credit hours of elective courses, 4 credit hours of research thesis, and 2 credit hours of seminar with core courses such as: Rapid Prototyping I & II, Stochastic Processes, Quality management and statistical process control, Reliability, Non-traditional manufacturing processes, Advanced quantitative methods in systems engineering, Risk assessment and systems reliability, Engineering optimization processes, Assembly automation & product design, Supply chain and logistics management, Engineering design process, Advanced production & operations management, Computer integrated manufacturing, Engineering statistics & modelling, Production sequencing & scheduling, Human performance engineering, Research in design & manufacturing systems, Design simulation VO: Which of the courses is more of interest to you & why? Me: Rapid Prototyping is of more interest to me because it deals with the fundamental concepts in the development of computational algorithms for the design of machine components and assemblies, and other engineering systems. It’s a vital course for AM Tech & Industrial Automation research. VO: can you tell me some of your professors? Me: Dr. Seong Lee is my academic supervisor and would take me on Stochastic Processes, Supply chain and logistics management while Prof. Richard will take me on Rapid Prototyping I & II and Advanced quantitative methods in systems engineering, VO: what has changed from your last application? Me: I got promoted in my place of work with more professional responsibilities and rewarding pay(Makes sense?) PLEASE HELP ME REPHRASE!!! VO: why did you choose the US for your master’s degree program? Me: I chose the United States because they focus much on research especially for my preferred course- 3D Printing Technology and Industrial Automation which is relatively at its infant stage in developing countries like Nigeria. Furthermore, institutions in the US offer students the opportunity to carry out research work with their professors and apply what they’re learning in the classroom in the lab or workshop which will afford me the opportunity to establish myself upon completion of degree. VO: Why are you going to the US? Me: I’m going to the US to obtain my master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Morgan State University with concentration in Additive Manufacturing, Industrial automation and Cobots. VO: tell me about your research interest? Me: my research interest is focused on AM technology & Industrial Automation which involves the development of complex metal shape parts using 3D Printing and Rapid prototyping. All smart industries of the future have their processes interconnected by the Internet of Things (IOTs) incorporating greater flexibility, and individualization of the manufacturing process but such technology is far from us in this part of the world. VO: what’s your highest degree? Me: my highest degree is Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering obtained from the University of Nigeria VO: when did you graduate? Me: I graduated in the year 2014 VO: and what have you been doing? Me: After my National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in 2016, I started working as a Research Assistant Officer at the department of Projects Development Institute, PRODA Enugu of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in in 2017 where I handle some responsibilities like the Design of mechanical components using AutoCAD, and produce them using Lathe machine. I also assist in organizing seminars and workshops for interns to enable them gain technical skills that will enhance their academics. VO: How long have you been working with them? Me: since 2017, so over 2years now VO: tell me what you know about your course? Me: Industrial engineering is one of the specializations in the field of mechanical engineering that is concerned with the design, analysis, evaluation and optimization of large systems and processes taking into consideration their interaction with machines, materials, and man power. VO: what attempt have you made to tackle any of these problems? Me: I carried out a research with a team on The Impact of 3D Printing Technology to the Nigerian Additive Manufacturing GDP. The study aimed to help engineering teams manage risks and understand the implications of their designs which can dramatically reduce the costs associated with 3D printing technology in the manufacturing sector to grow exponentially because it will reduce time to market and undue waste of resources. VO: did you applied to other schools? Me: yes ma’am VO: name them Me: Cleveland State University (mechanical engineering), and East Tennessee State University (Industrial technology) VO: why Morgan State University? Me:I choose Morgan State University for a good number of reasons which are as follows: First and foremost, I found the research works of Prof. Richard Pitts, a faculty member in the department of Industrial engineering to align with my career goal & research interest. The research work focus on the production of Complex Metal Shape Parts using 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping and I strongly believe carrying this research work would have significant advantage in my present work at the department of Projects Development Institute of the Fed. Mins of Science & Tech for a paradigm shift from the conventional manufacturing technologies using the application of 3D Printing technology for global competitiveness of industrial process and fast tracking of the manufacturing processes in Nigeria. I’m keen on being part of his research group so I have discussed my interest and he has agreed for me to join his research team come August NOTE: Answer for why no funding? He submitted my research proposal to NASA and he’s waiting for their feedback VO: how did you know this Prof? Me: I found his name online when I was searching for schools that do research in the field of A3D Printing & Industrial Automation and also read some of his published journals. Secondly, my area of research interest has its own well equipped state of the art laboratories dedicated for this research such as the Industrial Robotics and Automated Manufacturing(IRAM) Lab, the Manufacturing Process Lab, the Advanced Mfg. & Design Lab, and the Information and Systems Engineering Lab thus giving me the best in it's high quality industrial driven curricular. Thirdly, I wanted a university that will give me maximum exposure to the applications of advanced technology in the field of Industrial engineering been the only accredited Industrial engineering program in the state of Maryland and has been elevated to tier-2(R2) status with very high research activity based on the Carnegie Classification as well as a faculty affiliated with the world leading research centre known as the NextManufacturing Centre. Fourthly, Morgan State University provided an opportunity to prepare for various industrial professional certification courses like the Supply Chain Professional, Quality Engineer, and Six Sigma Black Belt which is not available in other schools. Finally, the tuition fee is very affordable and I will be studying in an extreme diverse community with great minds from across the world. Also encouraging testimonies from the Alumni network also contributed immensely to my decision making. VO: why Industrial engineering? Me: Industrial Engineers are in very high demand in my country Nigeria due to the rapid industrialization processes and the growing complexities of modern life. Statistics from the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan, NIRP indicates that the industrial sector contributes just only 3% to export revenues but accounts for over 58% of imports due to over dependence on oil as the mainstay of our economy. In my country Nigeria, the self acclaimed giant of Africa imports virtually everything including tooth picks, matches and from history, no country have ever become rich by exporting her raw materials without also having an active industrial sector and in modern terms an advanced services sector. I will return back to Nigeria immediately upon completion of studies fully empowered to become a senior industrial production engineer on a managerial level to head a department at the Fed Ministry of Science and Technology in the department of Projects Development Institute or take up appointment as a senior lecturer at my Alma Mater the University of Nigeria’s newly established department of Industrial and Production Engineering (though currently awaits full accreditation status from the National Universities Commission, NUC) to help pioneer its eventual take off. VO: what will this course do for you? Or what are your plans after graduation?? Me: With the technical vast knowledge and the on-demand skills acquired from this course, I would be fully empowered to advance my career from the position of Assistant Research officer to Senior Industrial Production Engineer on a managerial level at the Fed Ministry of Science and Technology department of Projects Development Institute. I wish to establish a 3D printing Technologies Company so that Nigeria and other developing countries can benefit from the rapidly evolving 3D technologies because of its wide applications in architecture, construction, aerospace, industrial design, military etc VO: how did you hear about the university? Me: I made an extensive search online with focus on schools that do research in AM Technology and Industrial Automation field and also Professor Richard Pitt’s ongoing research on 3D Print for Rocket Engine Parts. I do attend some Technology webinars where speakers talk on how enormous potentials of Rapid Prototyping will spur growth within the sector for commercial 3D Printing to reshape manufacturing globally. VO: any proficiency test? Me: English proficiency testing is not required for applicants from Nigeria and other British common wealth countries but I sat for the standardized GRE test VO: did you write any standardized Test? Me: yes ma’am, I took the GRE VO: what’s your score? Me: I scored 279,140 verbal, 139 quantitative and 3.0 on analytical writing VO: do you have anyone in the US? Me: Yes, my uncle VO: who is your sponsor? Me: my uncle VO: what does your uncle do for a living? Me: he works at bleep... VO: Why is he sponsoring you? Me: because he's like a second dad to me VO: let me have his statement of account VO: are you married? Me: (Smiles) No, I’m not yet married VO: any kids? Me: no ma’am VO: have you travelled out of Nigeria before? Me: no ma’am, I have not had any reason to travel until now, education is what’s taking me to the United States. VO: where would you stay in the US for your study? Me: I would stay in Baldwin Hall inside the campus. I have contacted the school and made inquiries, I will pay for the accommodation once my visa is approved VO: So where are you going to stay when you arrive in the US? Me: there is an airport pickup arrangement for new students so before my travel, I would send my itinerary to the international office & they would manage to pick me up VO: I will be approving you visa...

I will return back to Nigeria immediately upon completion of studies fully empowered to become a senior industrial production engineer on a managerial level to head a department at at bleep xxxx or take up appointment as a senior lecturer at my Alma Mater the University of Nigeria’s newly established department of Industrial and Production Engineering (though currently awaits full accreditation status from the National Universities Commission, NUC) to help pioneer its eventual take off. VO: what will this course do for you? Or what are your plans after graduation?? Me: With the technical vast knowledge and the on-demand skills acquired from this course, I would be fully empowered to advance my career from the position of Assistant Research officer to Senior Industrial Production Engineer on a managerial level at bleep xxxx.

BigUgo21: PLEASE gurus in the house help critique my proposed f-1 visa transcript.
Thereafter I would work in my research concentration in my second year with focus on AM Technology and Industrial Automation at the Industrial Robotics and Manufacturing Lab to equip me with the technical knowledge and on demand skills which will give me an edge to become a senior industrial production engineer on a managerial level at bleep xxxx or a lecturing job at my Alma Mater the University of Nigeria’s newly established department of Industrial and Production Engineering (though currently awaits full accreditation status from the National Universities Commission, NUC) to help pioneer its eventual take off. Me: After my National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in 2016, I started working as a Research Assistant Officer at bleep xxxx in in 2017 where I handle some responsibilities like the Design of mechanical components using AutoCAD, and produce them using Lathe machine. Me: I found his name online when I was searching for schools that do research in the field of 3D Printing & Industrial Automation and also read some of his published journals. tboy47: Please gurus in the house i greet y’all Here is my proposed transcript.. any help i can get will b welcomed
*** Good morning
CONSULAR: Pass Your Passport and i-20 Please
CONSULAR: Why Are You Going to the US? ME: I am going to the us to study masters in physics in Texas A and M university
CONSULAR: Why the US? ME: There is a very high level of teaching and research at US Universities, and I would have immense opportunities to learn from highly qualified professors in the field of physics. CONSULAR: How Did You Get This School? / How Did You Hear About This School? ME: I first read about Texas A & M during my search for universities that offers specialised courses in physics on usnews and report. I then came up with 5 schools and later streamlined the list and applied to 3schools which all offered me admission.
CONSULAR: How Many Schools Did You Apply To? ME: I applied to 3 universities! University of Idaho, Connecticut state university, Texas A and M University,
CONSULAR: What Do All These Schools Have In Common? ME: They all offer Masters in Physics and I applied to them because I meet the program admission requirement.
CONSULAR: Why Did You Choose this School? ME: I Choose Texas A & M University because I was awarded a graduate assistantship that covers my entire tuition and fees. More importantly, there is an ongoing research that align with my career interest and essential for professional advancement in the physics sector I hope to work upon my return to Nigeria. The program curriculum structure stands out compare to other schools I applied to. For example, I will be learning about experimental research in solid state physics, x-ray spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron, auger electron, appearance potential spectroscopy of surfaces, signal analysis of speech signals, microcomputer hardware and software development, and digital electronics. Other schools I applied to do not offer all these courses combined. So getting a degree from this school will not only equip me with the expertise to be highly employable, but will also deepens my technical know-how to work better as a physicist.
CONSULAR: Why Masters in physics)? ME: Master's in physics are highly paid in this country because it's a rare field that is growing up so fast in this country. I already have a bachelor of science in physics and due to my love and desire to work and advance this field, a master degree in physics will allow me to understand advanced areas of physics that my undergraduate studies did not teach me.
CONSULAR: Tell Me About Your Academic Background? ME: I studied physics in Delta State University Abraka and graduated in 2015 CONSULAR: what have u been doing since u graduated? In 2016, i worked as IT at HBB integrated service limited, after which I went for a compulsory NYSC program in 2017. After my service, i got employed at LEE construction company which is where am working curently
CONSULAR: What are those courses you’ll be taking/ Tell me about your program? ME: The masters in physics is a 30 credit hour program and I am expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to graduate in 2 years. I will be taking courses such as electricity and magnetism, mathematical physics, quantum mechanics, mathematical physics, quantum mechanics, and I will be carrying out a research at the end of every semester.
CONSULAR: Tell me about your Research? ME: I will be researching on Organic semiconductor physics, and there is another research called Surface science research. The surface physics in physics laboratory at Texas A & M University -Commerce offers a wide variety of experimental research opportunities including X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and soft x-ray and so on.
CONSULAR: Did You Write Any Standardized Test? ME: Yes, I wrote the GRE test
CONSULAR: Are you married? ME: NO
CONSULAR: Have You Travelled Before? ME: No, had no reason to CONSULAR: Do u have anybody in the US? Me: Yes, my elder brother CONSULAR: whats its status? Me: pending permanent residence Consular:Is he married? Me : yes he is married
CONSULAR: Who Is Paying For This? / Who Is Sponsoring You? ME: I have a full scholarship and My elder brother here in Nigeria will support Consular: what does he do? Me : he works in chevron Nigeria limited as a senior staff Consular : how many children does he have? Just 2
CONSULAR: What are your career plans / What is your plan after graduation? ME: There are many lucrative job opportunities in my field here in Nigeria, I will Return back to Nigeria and use the expertise this degree will equip me with to achieve my utmost career goal which is to become a geophysicist in various oil firms. because I will be highly employable since this is a new field that is not fully explored in this country yet... CONSULAR: What will this course do for you?? Me: Masters degree in physics will allow me to understand advanced area of physics that my undergraduate studies dis not teach me. And also, it will enable me to possess the knowledge and expertise required to work in various oil firms and industries in nigeria 1) Don't contradict yourself. You carried out a search for schools that offer specialized courses and you discover 5, you applied to 3. Now you are saying what the 3 school have in common is just masters in physics not specialized course in physics. It is contradictory. It is best to state the specialized courses they offer if there is any or just remove it entirely. Don't shoot yourself in the leg. 2) which knowledge is it equipping you with. Don't be vague, be specific 3)Master's in physics are highly paid in this country because it's a rare field that is growing up so fast in this country.. Can you back this up. Your point for why this course is not really inspiring. Saying something like this I think is better. As an undergrad, I developed interest in this particular aspect of physics, and....... All the best to you 1 Like |
