Uziza and ehuru are seed spices and not leaves .
On how it comes out ? Well, toasted ehuru seeds smells heavenly, then combined with uziza seeds...they're the best tag team .
Using toasted and grinded ehuru seeds alone will do sha .
There's another we use that's similar to dawadawa ,it's called ogiri okpei ...nice also !

Sorry, i meant seeds not leaves. I know uziza and ehuru very well. Somehow my mum prefers ogiri okepi but i still stick with dawadawa cos i like how it smell when i roast it. Might try out a bit of uzizia seeds next, ehuru will wait. Lol

Have you tried using scent leaf in tomatoe stew? The taste is and a different flavor. Now tomatoes are cost(you can check for tomatoes at Amuwo), I add enough shombo/tatashe and Tin tomatoes

I find your views very myopic. One does not have to be a chef to experiment in the kitchen. I watch Food Network and from time to time I would try to replicate what they do in my kitchen. I would even sometimes go to stores look at the different food gadgets and fantasize about what I would buy if I won the lottery. Life is more interesting when we go out of our comfort zones. We do not have to be professionals to try new things.

Ummmm even hammer can be use to flatten chicken before grilling (granted it was restyled and given another name) and your eba stick as cane. Syringe is very useful in the kitchen.

Some places have decent cooked food prices in SA, depends on where you go though...Cooked meals in the heart of Jhb R25-30...In PTA R30-R40. So it really depends...Uncooked meals are farr cheaper in Jhb than everywhere else, I recently stumbled on a shop close by that sells Nigerian raw food, 4 fingers of Plantain R100-R120..
