I have been in a relationship with my lady for about three years and it was on the premise of getting married but recently her spiritual mentor said she should suspend the relationship and that I should go and pray and receive clear instruction from God that she is the lady I am meant to marry, this about crashing our years of being together. I need advise on the way forward.

Flee from such women. They will one day need pastors approval to determine the number of kids to have and the type of soup to cook.

It was obvious that the Pastor would have higher authority in my home.
The divine design is God - Husband - Wife.
If the Pastor has any message from God concerning my home, it should pass through me.
If you as a wife doubt my spiritual authority then you made a mistake by being unequally yoke with me (an unbeliever, sic)

I do not undsertand why people are not allowed to make their own mistakes, it is called a learning process, why would a pastor be the manipulative one here, pray on your own to have a personal conviction from God, not through a pastor.

Guy I had similar scenario last year,the relationship was just 3 months.she wanted me to meet her spiritual mentor which I bluntly refuse because it doesn't make sense to me.I told her the person I can see is her father not a so called mentor.The mentor told her that since I refuse to see him that I'm not the right person for her and I was so glad because I was already getting irritated with the mentor thing.
We called the relationship a quit,as a sharp guy I moved on quickly,3-4months later she started pestering my life with several calls which I didn't pick her calls.
I later pick her call and told her that I have moves on that she should do same,I later got married late last year.she is yet to marry(30years) as I'm talking to you.
these so called mentors have done more harm than good,they are terrible control freaks that pry on innocent ladies,well their bad because they allow themselves to be deceived.
Guy if she refuse move on no time at all.

pastors who control their female members unnecessarily wen it comes to choosing a spouse might actually be having feelings for such a female member or there is a rich man the pastor might want the lady to marry and bring to his church.
