And yet another sad truth about the situation is thIs... correct me if I'm wrong but is there any government agency in Nigeria that even comes close to providing the level of customer service that the American Embassy provides to Nigerians in Nigeria? These folks provide much better customer service to Nigerians than our own government and in our own environment. Our immigration service could learn a thing or two about customer service from their operations and use to better the awful passport issuing operation!

This is the reason why we have a lot of refusal transcripts on this forum. Just try your luck. Haven’t you noticed that the people who got visas recently come with sound transcripts? Those who prepared and already know what and what they want out of the interview?
We will say let me try my luck and we come back shouting US doesn’t want us in their country again. Like that poster who is a lecturer, has a kid and yet his mum is sponsoring him for an academic conference. Even the VO shook. Anyone who is going to be applying using luck; better not to apply!

The guy was asking what kind of visa would be fit for him to stay since he is going to be working with the lady. NGO

Someone here told him forget it and don't waist your money.

Please is that not a discouragement.

If he or does not know what to advise him off then he should not discourage him if he was in is shoe he would find a solution.

So my reply to that is not bad for me, asking him to tell the lady to make research and involve her lawyer or immigration lawyer to help them with the right visa and how to go about it.

Please point where I said try your luck or where I mean try your luck.

the visa officer thinks you were not honest inorder to get your last visa... you said you wanted to go for wedding, next thing you didn’t go again... until a year later perhaps... then he/she is also worried that you also went to another state and then the reason you gave..you now suddenly had a friend in another state.... so they are afraid u might do same again or even stay back..
I feel there were too many changes in your circumstances as at the time you applied, got the visa and then in relation to how you used the visa.. you made your intentions to be doubted

Then he/she asked the tie questions... are u married... no... any children... no... hmmm for their mind this wan na candidate to jump visa

Your rejection came from the first trip. You didn't use it the way you said you would in the DS160.

That's why they are rejecting frequent travellers. God help us

It means that all those who fall under that category and who's petitions have already been approved are now eligible to start their visa processing at NVC/Embassy as a visa is now available for them.
But since your I-130 petition has not been approved by USCIS, you do not qualify

i missed an interview,cos my training date clashed and I reschedule with same visa fee. all I did was write the embassy,inform them of the development and I got MRV re-activated then I did re-appointment.i have mail correspondence as evidence.

Yes it is. Any other use is abuse, which is what led to all these visa issues in the first place.

Really? Tell me about it. What other real reasons is there to visit “almighty America” u sound dumb....

I’m a lady by the way and my reason and only reason for visiting was shopping and sight seeing. Sorry that I didn’t have more elaborate plans. But I will spend my vacation how I intend to and will never lie just to secure a visa. There are other countries to visit. If us no give me another one go give me if I choose to try. If not I save my money and remain in my country. It’s not that serious.

My dear it’s getting tougher now....while I was in the queue of all the people I noticed I didn’t see a single person handed the white slip. After the interview I thought maybe cos I wasn’t married. But I saw them deny married pple with children that weren’t travelling with their family. So what other ties are they looking for? Lol. And all of them I heard dem ask. When was the last time they visited the US meaning these are pple that have travelled before. Nothing is as it used to be anymore... I hope this phase passes soon.
