Not a big fan of misses PenalGhalo, infact I was about slacking him for fluffing his lines when Musa gave him that great pass, but while I was still typing, the guy scored a striker's goal, so I had to delete what I had typed already.

Honestly, Ighalo's goal was orgasmic. Aina is a jewel.

What flavour of pie did you eat? I mean humble pie.

Ndidi...man of the Match...really

Many people know Aina was the critical factor in our win today

Didn't Iwobi perform well?
Danielnino00:
Until when will Rohr understand that it's pointless playing Iwobi on the wing??
Why leave out natural wingers like Musa and Onyekuru for Iwobi Mikel should start from the bench in the next game abeg..Etebo with all his gra gra football will be really useful for his given his pace and stamina...Iwobi should play AMF...
As for Aina,I'm glad he has finally gotten the memo... He was impressive all through.. Going forward and defending... That's the kind performance we have all been clamouring for....

Akpeyi meanwhile is a calamity waiting to happy. I dunno why he gets so nervous and shakily when he puts on the GWG..abi na him village people dy follow am around??

Chukwueze was pure joy!! what a baller!!!

Overall it was a good performance from the team...Burundi almost succeed with their plan if not for some luck on our side. I expect a better performance on Wednesday against Guinea.

Onuachu is good but was starved of balls from the flank and the midfield of which the link from the midfiels to attack which is mikel was the biggest culprit.

Onuach is a big threat to any defense and will be a handful if he is adequestly fed of the ball.

On Point.

Sheyb I dey always talk am for dis thread

But for d fact dt he's having gud records @ Leicester, nobody is bold enuf to criticise him

Today he was a culprit, loosing ball @ will in d middle, etebo cover up for his tracks,he was just average

Like I av said, ndidi has not really impressed me in gwg Jersey, and if I av my way,I prefer ogu to him in dt national team set up

He(ogu) offers something to d midfield... STABILITY cool

Lol..U will.prefer Ogu to Ndidi...You must be joking. Aside the fact that Ogu is slow, he isn't even a natural DMF... The only.thing he offers better than Ndidi is passing and that's not the primary responsibility of a DMF
..A DMF is assigned to help the CBs and break up opposition attack from midfield and Ndidi does that very well... Even at Leicester u won't know how well he play until u see the stats..

BTW, he won the MOTM award today...

Etebo is a carpenter, I dont really fancy him, buh I was blown away by his performance today, he was simply my best midfielder today. I didn’t feel Ndidi as much as I did Etebo. Mikel was the worst, hence the less said, the better.

The synergy btwn Aina and Iwobi was telepathic, they could pick out each other with their eyes closed and their 1-2 exchange of passes was crisp, especially when Iwobi moved to the midfield and Aina was shuttling tirelessly btwn defence and attack.

Not from the wing..

The game changed when Iwobi moved to midfield...

Iwobi gasses out easily... with the Egypt weather,I'm afraid he would gas out easily if he keep playing on the wing..

Lool people clamoring for Mikel to play deeper forgetting his legs are gone. Our defense will be more exposed because we'll be ran through.

We will really be needing Etebo in this tournament o..The guy is built for African football..

I wont mind benching Mikel for him...

Oga I doubt u watched the first half of the game. Iwobi did well as a winger and when he was deployed as the teams number 10. The worst player was mikel whose below par performance contributed in making onuachu look bad

Spot on. Etebo has all the qualities to do well in African football. He is aggressive, mobile and covers lots of ground.

There are too many Nigerian kids across all the academies in England.

All of them are looking for the next Mbappe VERY SERIOUSLY and the reality is that next Mbappe will not be white. He will be African black origin.

They are fighting over 9/10 year old players. That's the level of interest.

Personally l would not have advised him to go to Manchester city. First of City buys way too many teenage players from across the globe. Opportunity is very limited in the club.

He should have gone to another Championship side but a football playing one like Derby or West Bromwich, Fulham or Swansea. He can easily get lost and forgotten in City.

Nice point but I feel the education at City will play a huge part in propelling him. After that, he can find his way if he does not break in. However, I think Edozie might have the talent to break in due to the buzz about him. Hope to watch him play for City.

Someone said ekong was poor? I wonder if you watched the match and have followed ekong since his move to serie A. The player that didn't live up to expectations was mikel, aside him all the players balled wella.

Ekong was poor. Ekong did not get to a single aeriel ball. You can crosscheck if you doubt it. Misplaced Passes. Zero Aerial Challenge. Nervy. The same thing in the Zimbabwe match. His defensive partner covered these lapses.

I feel Mikel was over worked. Doing a lot of forward plays to assist Onuachu was a bit too tasking. Mikel is best orchestrating with metronomic passes and the role today did not give him much opportunity to create.

I think Mikel should have drifted more back than forward to cause damage. Kudos for his effort.

I think Ekong overworked Omeruo and Shehu. He needs to tidy his game and relax. Work more with his right back when building plays to reduce faulty passes. The set up of Etebo and Ndidi as cover also affected the passing decision but I feel his direction of play should have gone to the right full back in such set up.

Iwobi did well

Onuachu got at least 2 good crosses from Iwobi but he was slow to convert and didn't put himself in the right position to slot home the goal

I am a very big fan of Awaziem, and y'all know he is one of my boys, but I wasnt impressed with his display today, bar the block in the final minutes. Dude offered nothing going forward, in fact, his presence kinda slowed down the wizard(Chuks) ahead of him. I will only cut him some slacks bkus that wasnt his primary position, buh, he sure didn't cover himself in glory.

Dont wanna say nothing about Chuks bkus he didn't surprise me

Special praise goes to Ola Aina. He was just too comfortable in his role and made it look too easy. Hardly left gaps in his play and combined well with Omeruo (Young General) in his defensive duties.

I have not seen such comfort at the LB role since Celestine Babayaro and can not wait to see how Ola Aina performs on the right where he can give deadly crosses.

Brother rohr congratulations on your well deserved win but needs to make some changes first from the goalkeeping apkeyi should be change for ezenwa and if ezenwa is not fully fit then make we manage our uzoho aina the main should be played on the right next match this will decide maybe he is a left back of right back...in the midfield I think Mikel needs a rest now at least for now this is gonna be the last tournament with him the subsequent one will be with iwobi so he should be given chance coz my boy was superb today in the attack should not be a problem we should play Musa ighalo and kalu then we switch to 3 5 2
with omerou/ekong been introduced Moses on the left wing back role and ndidi and etebo in the midfield and Musa and chukwuweiser terrorising the defense then we're good to go

We are playing more possession based for now and Akpeyi is the best with his feet. Fun watching him though. But, the guy is too nervy. His lob over a forward of Burundi was a joy to watch.
