elyte89: Lol..U will.prefer Ogu to Ndidi...You must be joking. Aside the fact that Ogu is slow, he isn't even a natural DMF... The only.thing he offers better than Ndidi is passing and that's not the primary responsibility of a DMF ..A DMF is assigned to help the CBs and break up opposition attack from midfield and Ndidi does that very well... Even at Leicester u won't know how well he play until u see the stats.. BTW, he won the MOTM award today... 2 Likes |

Etebo is a carpenter, I dont really fancy him, buh I was blown away by his performance today, he was simply my best midfielder today. I didn’t feel Ndidi as much as I did Etebo. Mikel was the worst, hence the less said, the better. The synergy btwn Aina and Iwobi was telepathic, they could pick out each other with their eyes closed and their 1-2 exchange of passes was crisp, especially when Iwobi moved to the midfield and Aina was shuttling tirelessly btwn defence and attack. 12 Likes 5 Shares |

charlesemeka85: Not from the wing.. The game changed when Iwobi moved to midfield... Iwobi gasses out easily... with the Egypt weather,I'm afraid he would gas out easily if he keep playing on the wing.. 1 Like |

Lool people clamoring for Mikel to play deeper forgetting his legs are gone. Our defense will be more exposed because we'll be ran through. 1 Like 1 Share |

Oga I doubt u watched the first half of the game. Iwobi did well as a winger and when he was deployed as the teams number 10. The worst player was mikel whose below par performance contributed in making onuachu look bad Danielnino00: 3 Likes |

Spot on. Etebo has all the qualities to do well in African football. He is aggressive, mobile and covers lots of ground. Danielnino00: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

komekn: Nice point but I feel the education at City will play a huge part in propelling him. After that, he can find his way if he does not break in. However, I think Edozie might have the talent to break in due to the buzz about him. Hope to watch him play for City. |

charlesemeka85: Ekong was poor. Ekong did not get to a single aeriel ball. You can crosscheck if you doubt it. Misplaced Passes. Zero Aerial Challenge. Nervy. The same thing in the Zimbabwe match. His defensive partner covered these lapses. 1 Like |

I feel Mikel was over worked. Doing a lot of forward plays to assist Onuachu was a bit too tasking. Mikel is best orchestrating with metronomic passes and the role today did not give him much opportunity to create. I think Mikel should have drifted more back than forward to cause damage. Kudos for his effort. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:01pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
iSlayer: I think Ekong overworked Omeruo and Shehu. He needs to tidy his game and relax. Work more with his right back when building plays to reduce faulty passes. The set up of Etebo and Ndidi as cover also affected the passing decision but I feel his direction of play should have gone to the right full back in such set up. |

I am a very big fan of Awaziem, and y'all know he is one of my boys, but I wasnt impressed with his display today, bar the block in the final minutes. Dude offered nothing going forward, in fact, his presence kinda slowed down the wizard(Chuks) ahead of him. I will only cut him some slacks bkus that wasnt his primary position, buh, he sure didn't cover himself in glory. Dont wanna say nothing about Chuks bkus he didn't surprise me 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Special praise goes to Ola Aina. He was just too comfortable in his role and made it look too easy. Hardly left gaps in his play and combined well with Omeruo (Young General) in his defensive duties. I have not seen such comfort at the LB role since Celestine Babayaro and can not wait to see how Ola Aina performs on the right where he can give deadly crosses. 3 Likes 1 Share |

sheyishemba: We are playing more possession based for now and Akpeyi is the best with his feet. Fun watching him though. But, the guy is too nervy. His lob over a forward of Burundi was a joy to watch. |
