Oasis007: I have explained to you my preference. We are deadlier with fluidity and creativity in our forward play. I have been saying this before the World Cup. Yesterday proved my point. I have showed you my comment before the game. I called for more directness. I have asked for us to be more offensive. At the moment, I will pick Osimhen over Ighalo because he will offer more movement. I will pick Chukwueze and Onyekuru over Iwobi and Musa on the flanks because of the same reason. I will play Iwobi in the AMF role because of the same reason. The only tinker with the idea is in midfield because Mikel will offer a platform to build play while Ndidi will do the running to break down plays. -----------------------------Osimhen---------------- Onyekuru---------------------------------------Chukwueze ----------------------------------Iwobi-------------------------------- ----------------------Mikel------------------Ndidi------------------ Collins-----------Omeruo---------Ekong----------------Aina ----------------------------------Akpeyi------------------------------- 1 Like 1 Share |

safarigirl: I wonder if he even watched the game. If he did, he would not even ask because those passes from Musa were awful. However I would excuse Musa because he was not playing with his natural foot. He was repeatedly forced to use the outside of his right foot. |

TheGoodJoe: I know some Dudes are getting boiled already, and before they jump in and start name-calling, I'm gonna stop here. But as par my Reference, I will pick Musa, Moses over Onyekuru as a Left Winger. Let's end it here pls. |

Oasis007:I saw it....but was that the question? You asked for 'repeated' instances that Musa gave a bad pass and I answered, don't change the question because you don't like the answer. 1 Like |

safarigirl: You and I know the context of the word "Repeatedly" as used by him. He meant more than 2. Pls..... Let's end it here. Thanks for your time and inputs. |

Oasis007:the context of the term 'repeatedly' means more than once anywhere. So, a different interpretation does not invalidate the actual meaning. Thanks for your time as well 3 Likes 1 Share |

no matter how tired i am.. I still rush to Nairaland because of You Guys Thumbs up This is my two cents though Akpeyi made some saves but I believe it's nothing Ezenwa or Uzoho can't do.. He was jittery.. Made alot of schoolboy's errors which is not new to Akpeyi.. I believe If we want to go far.. Akpeyi must be dropped Our CB Ekong and Omerou were solid.. La Liga really groomed Kenneth Full backs Please let's appreciate Torino.. they really upped Aina's game and it's a testament of y Nacho has to leave England.. Shehu was good until his injury while awaziem settled in well MIDFIELD abeggy Nigerians can complain Ndidi and etebo r ballers Mikel was slowed but controlled the game.. He is hardly dispossessed and we need such a player in the game ATTACK Chuckwueze was full of running but he should do well to connect to other players Paul IMO was not bad.. most time, had to run to the midfield to support, use his height well Iwobi was good.. That his turn in the box was delicious.. When he dropped to the midfield, He moved the ball better SUBSTITUTES Awaziem wasn't as good as Shehu offensively but he wasn't bad too Musa was full of running but his last balls were just 'musaISH' Ighalo, like i always maintain, He is our best striker ITM.. He can bully defenders, run into space and can finish generally, super eagles played well Burundi gave good accounts of themselves it was a good night of football Good morning and Happy Sunday to you all 19 Likes 5 Shares |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:33am On Jun 23, 2019 |
Earthquake3: Transfermarkt says Aina is better on the right. I wonder how they concluded that he is better on the left when we saw his difficulty crossing from the left. The goal came from him backing the goal and flicking the ball with his right foot. |

TheGoodJoe: If you need to build up then you need Balogun and Mikel in the midfield Otherwise it's like asking Ekong and Omeruo(non ball players) to do a very difficult task 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:His first cross wasn't that bad. Someone with better movement would've gotten to the end of it(Samu and Iwobi were the ones in the box). Musa at the moment is ahead of Onyekuru. I love Onyekuru but Musa has been pretty consistent since the world cup. 2 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by edi287: 8:40am On Jun 23, 2019 |
Earthquake3:Agreed. That's why I think it'll be difficult to bench Mikel. I noticed Etebo was playing in front of our CBs. He doesn't have the passing range to play that role. |

If Ezenwa is fit he should be number one henceforth, Akpeyi jittery and lack of confidence almost cost us yesterday. Man couldn't even comfortably stop a ball that weren't threatening, balls from 30 yards you punch for corners. Imagine if that back pass was to an open net. Ezenwa or Uzoho abeg, Akpeyi is never confident in goal right from time immemorial. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 8:44am On Jun 23, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe: The passes weren't awful but just say that the defenders anticipated the passes. It was more of the defender did well, than Musa did not pass well. I do not see the basis behind starting Chuks, if we want to point out errors, there was on instance where Iwobi was right in front of Chuks and he kicked the ball out for a throw trying to locate Aina who was miles away when a simple pass made more sense, there was also a counter where he skinned the first guy then instead of simply squaring for Onuachu he tried a banana pass which the defence was all so glad to cut out. Full of tricks yes, but atrocious decision making, I don't see why he will start ahead of Musa if you ask me, he has his own decision making flaws, but IMHO, he is an upgrade on Chuks. See how Musa's direct running won us a corner as well, I can go on. Anyways. I don't know why it seems like I watched a different match that wasn't exactly fulfilling. The Burundians created at least 5 3 on 2 situations against our CB, they created well over 4 clear cut chances and if not for a combo of poor passes, poor finishing and a rare GK save, we would have been talking about 3 goals conceded, factually the Burundians bypassed our midfield like it did not even exist, there was a particular 3 on 2 situation where one of the Burundians was unable to give a 2 yard pass to his teammate who would have been one on one. Or should I mention the chance where they skinned Ekong and had a clean run at goal but the guy messed up? Arguably, from an attacking sense this might have been an okayish game, but the midfield and defence were atrocious, that too against Burundi, the worst team in the tournament (statistically). I really am glad that Rohr has come out to acknowledge that the team was poor at least they will work on it. Ndidi and Etebo forget their jobs of shielding the defence multiple times in the game which is why I agree that one of them ought to be axed for Mikel to sit deep entirely, however I would suggest Ndidi is dropped because Etebo is a better shuttle that can move the ball higher up the pitch. All in all I think the only place we had real issues was with the two DMFs not doing their job, I don't think we would have defeated a better team at all. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Oasis007: I'm questioning those who say Aina is better than Jamilu Jamilu's crosses are more lethal because he overlaps and crosses from the touchline making it tricky for the defenders and easy for a tap in Aina's crosses are easy to head out because he was crossing from outside to in Cc TheGoodJoe |

Oasis007:Didn't you see whenever chukwueze is with the ball he's draws 2-3 defenders to himself. Most times he dribbles past and set up play with Iwobi or any available player. He was always marked by 2 Burundians. The spotlight were on him not to mark those runs. 3 Likes 1 Share |
